90% of the last page was about Pokemon, 6% was about Devil May Cry and 4% was about Marvel. Just saying.

In other news felicia sucks and that's why she's rarely used. What a waste of a character spot.

I like to think that part of the value of a "community" thread is that the folks within the thread form a bond that allows conversation to beyond the subject matter at times. If we spent every day talking about Pokemon, I would have a problem with that, but when we go off-topic every now and then I'm cool with it.

Also, it's not like I wouldn't talk about Marvel if someone else did. I posted a lot about my team and no one responded. :p

I think she's pretty good. Are you being serious? Felicia/Mystic Ray was hard as hell to deal with. IMO you should keep that team but use the order Felicia/Shuma-Gorath/Taskmaster, because Taskmaster is a much better anchor than Shuma-Gorath. Arthur is a good anchor, but I don't think Taskmaster/Arthur is particularly frightening.

I've never actually played through a Pokemon game. I pretty much missed the whole phenomenon by a few years, but it's obviously pretty huge amongst the generation that started a little bit after mine. Here is where I reveal my oldness.

It was sarcasm, I know felicia can be stupid :lol

That team works, it even sets up unblockables that you can really do much about with instant over head mystic smashes. Ijust suck with shuma right now sadly :( I gotta grind out his mystic stare combos and those are probably some of the hardest things to do in the game next to rocket raccoon's combos

And in the Halo OT, a mod said some level of off-topicness is to be expected in these threads, for that very reason. Though unlike in the Halo OT, we actually talk about our game here! A lot in fact. There's always great discussions going on in this thread.

And I dunno anything about Dante. I played like 2 levels in DMC4 before losing motivation, and played the DmC demo once. The combat wasn't very satisfying in DmC. The game's art is really pretty too, it's just a bit rough around the edges. I don't think action games are for me. That said I have the Revengeance LE pre-ordered and I am STOKED about that game for 100 different reasons.

I would actually argue that putting together a competent team in Pokemon is harder than in Marvel.

Do the pokemon version of morgan/doom and just slap in skarmory and blissy. Actually I dont know if they hold up in the current gen but that was pretty much how its been for generations 2-4 LOL

What's the best Wesker/xxxxx/Magneto team? And don't say Vergil.

Dante/Wesker/Magento?

That's why I don't use Shuma-Gorath. Morrigan/Mystic Ray makes Taskmaster/Mystic Ray look fair. I could even deal with him being a crappy anchor if I could handle charge motions.

Anchor Magneto sucks!

And I would say some sort of anti-air for Wesker. Jam Session or Vajra, since both characters love EMD.

Nah, the skarmony/blissy combo got nerfed. Blissy lost some health in this gen. Big thing right now is weather combos. Either sandstorm, hail, rain dance, or sunny day on an ability and then go ham with the rest of your team who utilize the ability.

How much oldness do you have?

Enough to have started regretting my username choices a while ago.

Yeah, the impression that I get is that there's enough depth in there to inspire the kind of devotion it's received for almost two decades now. Pokemon is something I've been aware of for a long time, and wanted to check out but just haven't really done it. D&D is the same way. Maybe I will try the new 3DS Pokemon.

What gets talked about in the Halo OT?!
Pornstars, "RIP ____" posts, streams of Black Ops 2 and other games, and how terrible Halo 4 is, though even that has subsided.

It's sad because I really like Halo, but you just can't have a good discussion there because of incessant trolling, good posters getting drowned out by OT posts and pretty much everything to be said already being said, but people saying it again and again anyways. Halo threads were good until Reach came out.

Weather vs. Weather is so annoying though.
It is, but it feels so good outplaying the other person because they don't know how to keep their weather in play.

Never too late to learn how to battle!

And D&D is something that you should only learn to play with a close group of friends. Playing with a group that you don't know is asking for trouble. Learning how to play with an unfamiliar group is even worse.

From my limited view, weather stuff tends to revolve around creatures of particular types (i.e. you won't find any fire pokemon that use hail). So wouldn't you open yourself up to getting slammed by certain opposing types with such a strategy?

Hum.

Learn anchor dante he's actually really good in xfactor 3 if it comes down to that
I feel like anchor Dante has trouble opening people up. Superjump away and ???.

Fascinating (no sarcasm).

You can say the same for anchor mags though.
Which is why I think he sucks on anchor. Though maybe not as bad, since he is really good at getting air throws, and Dante is not.

To me, Magneto and Dante are like Doom on anchor. You put them there on a bet that you can win with their assists, not the actual character. Thus it's odd to see someone who loves Magneto playing him on anchor.

Weather does a lot for more than one type of Pokemon. Rain helps Water and Electric types, Sun helps Fire and Grass types, Sand helps Rock, Ground, and Steel types, and Hail helps Ice types and anyone who appreciates Blizzard having 100% accuracy. The advantages that each weather gives outweighs the potential negatives.

Rain, for example, gives Pokemon with the ability "Swift Swim" double their current Speed stat. Along with the boost in power rain gives to Water moves, you'd be lucky to survive for longer than a turn against a dedicated sweeper unless you're specifically trying to counter it.

Anchor mags has airthrow capitalization from any height and tri-jumps.

Relying on air throws as your winning move is kinda iffy though in an offline environment.

I have to wonder how nerfed weather teams are going to be in GEN 6 but it's probably going to just be expanded upon

That's true, but the airthrow is still a dangerous threat. It's one of those things that people say isn't really a big deal, but then they get hit with anyway. Mags can also capitalize off of errant hits a little better than Dante can, and he can do more damage in a shorter amount of time (saving precious X-Factor time).

I admittedly haven't play much X-factor Dante, so I don't know how the speed improves his slow ass normals.

Against superjumpers/fliers, anchor Dante can anti-air and then cross up teleport with a few different moves (Hysterics, Multi-Lock, Acid Rain). He's really fast in XF3 and can ToD without meter. A good anchor, but not S-tier.

Magneto is also ridiculously fast and can throw and ToD you off that pretty easily in XF3. He's in about the same category as Dante as far as anchors go, IMO.

Question about weather: I'm looking at Sandstorm, and it affects "Rock-, Ground-, or Steel-type" Pokemon. Does that have to be their primary type, or can it be their secondary type? I love Rock and Steel Pokemon, so making a whole team out of them is appealing...

We are roughly in agreement.

It can be either. Empoleon (who is Water/Steel) is just as protected from Sandstorm as Dugtrio is. Rock types are the only ones that get the Special Defense boost, though.

Does anyone want to play some games on PSN?
Karst maybe? I'm hooked up with wired internet today.
It looks like Panda and God's Beard are already occupied playing each other.

Damn, my other characters are so bad right now. >_<

Felicia and Strider seem like a great pairing.
They work great together, Felicia can get a full combo off any varja hit. I'm really comfortable with Felicia and Hawkeye, but I need more practice with strider.

Good Games Beats. I especially liked your fancy akuma combos.
I'd definitely practice some of strider's XF3 specific combos, like the Light Gram relaunch loop I was using. To be fair you definitely knew what the hell you were doing with oroboros activated, I just sort of flail around and hope for the best. Lol

Good Games Racketpunch, I probably should've just stuck with my main team and not picked miscellaneous characters. Also Magneto + Hidden Missiles is infuriating to try to get around with Haggar.

Sanford's Wesker/Dormammu/Magneto team is kinda cool. Not as cool as my Spencer one, but cool.

What's the best Spencer team?

I like Spencer, Wesker, Doom. Great extensions for Spencer, but I find it funky to get in with Doom missiles. I can't confirm the down C into jump loop with missiles so when I play this team I always end up with abc, S.

I also like team Knives, since when they get hit with Akuma or Spencer I pretty much guarantee his jump loop. However with Akuma I don't know how to get an extra 80k.

I have the same problem with Spencer/Strange as I have with Spencer/Doom. I know how to get use them to add an extra 80k (or 2 in Doom's case), but in the neutral game sometime I can't confirm into the best BnB and end up doing ABC, S (Then I lose out on one 80k).

GGs to both of you. I really wish that if you leave the lobby that the private slot stays private. Someone very laggy took your spot.

Good games to you and racketpunch. yeah, I need to get my combos down with Strider and Doom. I can do all of them in training mode, but I have a hard time executing them in a real match. :(
