Against Zero/Doom(beam or missiles depening on what he feels like)/Vergil what can Nova/Doom(beam)/Strider do to contain Zero. My training partner made the changes to this team, used to play team Flocker, and since then he's been a menace. Most of my Zero kills have come from high speed tackle+vajra mix-ups and those can usually only be popped at the start of the match before he gains momentum.

Whenever I get bopped by good Novas as Zero, it tends to be a well placed air grab or s.Jab hit right before Lv3 buster startup. And try to see if they do any unsafe lightnings, you can punish Zero if you happen to be close enough. Other than that, playing patiently and using your assists to help you get in is the best advice I can give. Also make sure your Strider is good on point without XF3 since if I were to play against that team, I'd try to snap in Strider asap.
Trying it out with Zero lately too and it seems pretty annoying but can't really convert off it in a consistent manner. Still testing since Shuma is fun, and double Hadangeki seems like it'd be a good assist for Shuma.
Yeah, Felicia is good with it too.

If I were to use nova/spencer/strange, can I get by using strange anchor without fof loops? Any tips/combos for xf3 strange or just him in general? Thinking about replacing taskmaster for him.
You can but I would still try to learn the FoF loops. They're not too bad, just got to practice the motion, and the timing on when to impact palm after super jumping each time (basically the top of impact palm should hit the opponent's feet). Plus XF3 Strange is pretty weak in comparison to XF2 Strange + Grapple assist.
XF Strange, just remember the Spell of Vishanti XF combos, being able to transition to XF FoF loops for meter/damage (they're tons easier than without XF), and being able to use the 3 grace of hoggoths to setup that giant beam. 3 yellow give you the crumple, 2 gives soft knockdown against aerial opponents, and any red causes an explosion if the flame passes through the opponent. Eye of Agamatto is also a really good tool against certain characters, eats up some beams, and good for Strange's defense to setup hoggoths or zone with daggers + FoF + Mystic Swords. You can also push block the opponent into it and get a combo if they try to jump over it and hit you.
in XF you can also do stuff like launch -> j.H xx Impact Palm xx M teleport and repeat for some easy damage if you want to keep them midscreen, then setup hoggoths right before the opponent is coming in, FoF, then teleport around.
And his bolts are pretty good on point, but just remember it's really unsafe. Use it on reaction if the opponent does something midscreen to a full screen away and then SoV, XF, kill. Very useful if you see the opponent calling out assists a lot too.

Why not use doom instead if you don't want to learn loops? If you do go with strange then try learning loops for a bit because it's not that hard once you figure out the timing.

I don't see Zero as working well with Mystic Ray. Mystic Ray is slow and needs to be protected like Sentinel Force. Mystic Ray does well with characters who can put their opponents into blockstun through "rough and ready" means. Firebrand's swoops, Delta Kick, Berserker Slash, etc. It serves to tell you "hey, no worries about what happens after you go nuts - Shuma-Gorath has your back. It doesn't get you in, and it doesn't create pressure. It is far too slow for that stuff, and Plasma Beam will stuff it every time.

That "Trickster (double cross up)" mix up is insane. Everyone will get hit by it the first time.

GGs TWILT. That first team I used (Felicia/RR/Ammy) I made up like a week ago and I'm in love with it.... Unfortunately I have no idea what I'm doing with Ammy. I need to make a point team for her. My Spencer will forever be ass. I just can't play the guy for shit.
GGs Mango. Man I have no idea how to fight Felicia. It's also impossible to land a hit on Rocket Raccoon with Spidey aside from a few web throws here and there. Gotta practice my small character combos with him later. >_<
Happy that I managed to land a few shot loops with Dante here and there. Gonna try and optimize them, but landing them online is the real challenge lol.

Team animals sounds like a pretty damn good team, and RR gets tons of mixup opportunities with Cold Star. Using Spitfire I assume for RR?

Your Dante pressure is fucking brutal at times. As for Felicia, I personally do a lot of chicken blocking and neutral jumps against her. If you get too predictable you'll get air grabbed though.
I've been messing around with both. Today I used log trap just for some easy ass confirms. But I think I definitely like Spitfire more for Felicia. The grab mixups are just too good. Still experimenting though. No idea if I want Ammy as my anchor or RR.
Yeah Spitfire seems more beneficial to both Ammy and Felicia. I'd say Ammy should be anchor, since XF2 Rocket with Coldstar sounds very scary if you can properly do his mixups.

Yeah I think I'm keeping Ammy as my anchor but man I need to figure out more than F+HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Anyone know a decent team I could run with Ammy on point?

It won't be as great, but just flip your team order.
Ammy/RR/Felicia.
It is a reasonably solid team still. And you should learn all characters in all positions. Felicia is a nasty anchor.

Anchor Felicia is very very fun. It's definitely not something I do on purpose but it does happen on occasion when Strider gets snapped in.
I found an OK team that I like though. Ammy/Dante/Strange

I've been experimenting my Denjin stuff, a quick question. For the combo I had posted, indeed of going for the Super Tatsu is it also viable to try to go for a grab reset and then aim my my Shinku Hadoken downwards? It does about 1.1 mil in total. Also I'm guessing I shouldn't go for it often or else my opponent will catch on.

Sounds like a rough life. Though shinku hadoken sniping DHC to Hail storm sounds like some good shit. Or just quickly going into Hado Kakusei DHC Hail storm. And Storm would likely benefit from tatsu assist
Edit:I'm also just thinking about some of this stuff in my head so you'll have to test it out but I think you'd be able to get some decent mixups off of Hail Storm dhc Hado Kakusei. You could also hit Elemental Rage and dhc into Hado Kakusei. You might even be able to do the full animation of Elemental Rage with the wall bounce and dhc and wave dash to continue your combo.

Thanks for the pointers, I was thinking about this as well and will have to test it. Also Storm DHCs will allow me to use Denjin like I want to. I'm very excited to fine tune this team.

People think I'm crazy for playing Chris and Felicia. I get pretty damn good results though.
RayRay puts in some serious work with Ryu.
Only go for the reset if you don't have the meter or resources to kill. Resets can be very strong but some characters are always worth the resources to kill.

I really must thank the support one this site, you have really been most helpful. After I have spent fruitful hours in the lab perfecting my combos what is the next step. I'm going to a tourney at the end of the month but I would like to improve before then. There is only one other guy in my community who plays Marvel so I play with him a bit but is there any other way to level up my game? I do online sometimes but I end up dropping my BnBs online.

Unless you live way off in the distance or have bad internet, the online is not bad enough for you to drop your bnb. I do ChrisG's Morrigan bnb consistently online. Nothing you do with Ryu comes near that.
Never forget that Viscant won Evo primarily through online training.

Seconding online Ryu. He's absolutely fine. He's got nothing so difficult that it holds scary drop potential online. Also for awhile in Vanilla I rocked Storm/Ryu/Sentinel and can vouch for how fun Storm/Ryu DHC. I didn't stick around but the characters I did go in on were all I played period. Ryu is fun, and with the right partners he has some really enjoyable stuff. I still hold that his best partner is Wesker for low gunshot mixups and extensions extra damage, but Shuma laser sounds like a fun partner. Looking forward to hearing how your training goes.

Hey guys, Karsticles suggested I do something like a NeoGAF vs Reddit tournament sometime soon, but I am thinking not doing a Tournament, but a 5 VS 5 Battle Royal(Like the WNF Vs Norcal 5 Vs 5 at SCR).

Online is worthwhile. A lot of great players grind primarily online.

I won't be able to participate since I am PS3-only, but I think we should use the top players from Beef's tournament on the 360 side, or the players who are largely identified to be great players on here. No pros allowed.
Smurfx is definitely one choice, but I don't know that side well enough to know who else is in tip-top condition.

Right now there is no way that I can get any money right now to get a spare copy of UMVC3 for the PS3 at all.
Also it looks like Professor Beef is willing to do it when we set it up
But right now, we need to figure out the 5 players for team NeoGAF. I say that Smurfx is in no matter what, but who else is very good in UMVC3 on the xbox 360?

If I'm reading this tier list correctly then he has Doom placed below average. That can't be right.
Doom's support value is rated as literally "off the charts".
It's his point value that is rated low. And even then I disagree, Doom as a point is still well above average.

Ghost Rider has an excellent assist and one of the best crossover counters in the game. What is She-Hulk offering a team? I agree that Wright is undervalued.

Thanks for the clarification. Still don't see how he's rated below average as a point character especially when he's a Doom player himself. Just yesterday, I saw him take plenty of wins from FChamp with his Doom. Heck he even killed Champ's full life Doom with his Doom off of an air grab.

When both players drop that much stuff, it ruins my excitement. I watched about half of it and found it interesting, though. Smooth Hawkeye play.
Happy to let my NeoGAF debut be to the tune of a good Dante comeback I made. :] There's some useful things in there, for sure, but I also dropped a combo important things, like the corner Stinger xx Acid Rain reset on Task.
This is Mercurial Hg, the dante player, etc. Submitted an account a week or so ago to see if anybody was interested in some comparatively higher level XBL play some time, or wanted to play a good modok/sent/dante slash hulk/sent/dante slash dante/frank/sent whatevermajiggy.
The tourney made me a little salty at the end, largely 'cause one of the members had some lag issues going on and modok is very sensitive to that. But I'd be happy to answer any dante or sent or modok or hulk questions and stuff pretty conclusively, or get some games in some time.
