Yup a lot if people didn't know anything about Seth just yelled "nerf" and " cheap" enough and he got gutted.
He was completely fair in AE2012. If they needed a change, the medium kick cross up instead of HK. That's fair. The rest were overboard.

I don't know if anyone enjoyed playing against Seth. Felt like playing a slot machine.
Also I don't think he was gutted out of the game, he's still better than Honda and Dee Jay.

He was not "completely fair" lol.

Now he's pretty fair, could maybe use a life buff to like 900 but he aight.

Nah. He was no better than Fei Long, Cammy, Akuma and the rest of the top tier characters that were way more solid all around.

He got destroyed by Sakura and Guy. He was balanced with the rest of the top characters. None of them got the nerfs he did, but it's whatever.

I feel like this is asked every week in this thread ... but is the ps3 netplay for USFIV still garbage?

Also which is the best version of USFIV between PC and PS3? I kinda of want the ps3 so I can easily play local in college, but the PC has better netcode (I heard)

PC is generally superior but may have a smaller base of players online.

We can't judge the PC version yet because they still haven't sorted out the connection through Steam, even though it was ported in June. So while it may have better "netcode," we can't tell yet because it stutters like crazy.

Rolento players: does he have ANYTHING that is safe from mashing? With a character like Dee-Jay I can chain cr. jab and then drop it on purpose to bait a DP. With Rolento I get DP'ed DURING the cr. jabs. When I go for delta air raid as a block string ender I also get jabbed out of it sometimes.

That and the shitty range on cr. mk is making it incredibly hard for me to hit-confirm with this character. I'm literally scared ALL THE TIME to throw anything out due to a fear of getting knocked down and having the worst oki defense in the game.

I miss SFxT Rolento soooooooo much.

You kinda just have to watch how they play. If you notice that you're getting dp'd and jabbed out of a lot of stuff then slow down your play and wait for them to make mistakes. I've been very successful with Rolento, unless someone knows his glaring weaknesses.
But I actually dig his normals a lot
The only thing I don't like about the character is that his delta escapes should be different depending on the button used.

Whenever I play against a Rolento, I kinda feel bad for them since they just have no idea how to create space and deal with being pressured

GGs to rockturtle and Hiryu, it is good to finally have a chance to play with gaffers.

Why are everyone's PP so high.

5th ranked Thawk probably not jumping around and churning butter like a retard.

LOL, so fucking true. This one day that I was playing USF4 really stuck out to me. I ran into two different Hawks, one had 2800+ PP(not sure about the BP but it was a lot) while the other one had 800 PP and around 4000BP. I faced the lower ranked Hawk first and he bodied me easy. He played really random and did a lot of unsafe stuff but I kept getting hit by them. Then I faced the higher ranked Hawk not too long after and he played really patient and didn't take many unnecessary risk and I ended up beating him in a close match. I thought to myself "if this guy just went nuts, he probably would have won easy".

Wow, I finally beat a good gen. I lost like 4 times beforehand, but still!

Good Hawks know when to go nuts and when not to. I generally assume my opponent expects me to go nuts so I try to wait and see whether I should or not. Hawk is a high-risk character, which is why he's not top tier even with his tools finally being mostly good. (he also loses to Dee Jay and Honda, that should be proof he isn't top tier)

High risk though?

Pretty much. Also got bodied by the like 20th ranked Feurte or something because he was going crazy then beat the 11th or so ranked Feurte because this dude is playing all methodical and footsies and shit

Also, I got bodied by every Hugo I played last night.. even with Rose. I lost to a guy that got pretty lucky but I had to send him a message saying good stuff because he overcame such a shit matchup. Can't even be mad.

If I know I'm not going to win a footsie war, why should I play footsies just because it's the way you're "supposed" to play. If it takes going derp or ham for me to win , I'll do it. You just gotta know when to play proper and when you can't.

Ehhh everyone has their shitty matchups. Honda is a terrible matchup for Viper in my opinion, but she is top tier.

I don't think Hawk is really all that high risk. I mean I play him like I have no fucking sense, but I definitely know how to play him slow and safe. I think he is top 15 in this game.

I didn't say you have to play a certain way, it's just I lost against a Feurte that went crazy and beat the one that played slower.

Either way when you're playing Feurte you gotta forget all the shit you learned about SF4 and just go dumb

Yeah you're pretty much right.

You have no idea how often I gamble on anything that is -2,-1, or 0 on block. What am I gonna do after an ex tiger knee? Hell, I don't even know. I just press whatever buttons come to mind first. I'll even ultra. And it works.

I need to start playing dumb. It seems like every good player knows how to do it and abuses it where possible.

Running into people who play more than me but are worse than me :D i've been near 3k several times but I run into my share of losing streaks....

I had the same problem, except my barrier is at 1k. Every time I got to that pp, I start losing like crazy and got drop to 700~.

Like almost everyone who has the option to, I've gone back to Xbox. The combination of players that can perform perfect combos in between lag so bad that my inputs come out 1-2 seconds afterward is astounding, and going on 1k PP swings every other hour is no fun on PC. I don't know how people handle that.

Playing against a lot of people who go dumb has made me a much more reactive than I'd like to be. I've learned to not get suckered into playing that game playing a low health character. Calculated gimmicks is where its at.

Because they hate themselves.

cause im bad and i think mirror matches are a coin toss

I dont quit but thats my feeling with mirror
I dunno, it's just kinda weird. I had someone earlier who just stood there the entire match and then quit right before the match ended.

I'm just currently loving Hugo mirrors. So much fun.

I hate Rufus mirrors with a passion. That's the only one though.

nothing like a good ranked session where you lose 500 pp
I just started playing a lot of ranked again, not sure if I'm trying to aim to get my PP to 4K or get my character ranks up.

Do you play warm up games beforehand?
Why do people get so salty about mirror matches. Some people outright quit before the match even happens.
IM THE FUCKIN BEST THAT'S WHY. Saltiest loss I had out of like 20 ranked matches was the mirror Elena match I lost. I choked but I really don't like playing against another Elena.

I think I've come across 2 Elena players other than the first week or two when the game came out.

I just started playing her and it's damn fun, but it's rough. No jumping. Ever.

And wtf at her HK DP doing less damage than her MK version.

She just has so many goofy ass quirks.

I'll mirror someone if they play a character I'm familiar with. A lot of people just can't handle that stuff.. Especially outside of shoot mirrors.

What is a shoot mirror?

I'm okay with Ken mirrors, because I'm always
not
smarter than the other Ken.
