UMVC3: Phoenix Wright and Nova Revealed!

With a good team, Wright looks like he'll be a force to reckon with. The easier thing will probably be to either waste x-factor to kill him, or snap in his help.

C-Viper and Strange will probably own him for free tho. Everyone has their bad match-ups.
 
I just think they made Wright to weak initially in another attempt to be true to the character (look how that worked out for Haggar or Arthur). Regardless I dont think we will know about his true potential for awhile since everyone is either gonna stick to what they know or go for the simpler or more obviously powerful new characters.

The regular ones we get today have been delayed to Saturday after the panel.

It's presumably going to be Spiderman and PW.

He does but he isn't a 8 way tri-dash character.

PW can get a piece of evidence then go back into a blockstring

. That shit is nowhere close to free when you've got two blocks to go through.

And although there hasn't been the clearest indicator thus far, it looks like Maya indeed has a ton of active frames, enough to keep Akuma at bay for a decent amount of time. In no way does PW get a free shot at evidence either, everything has to be set up, and combine that with an assist PW can call, yeah I'm not giving Wolverine the advantage on this.

Wait a minute... you are assuming that Phoenix Wright is on the OFFENSIVE and putting block strings on Wolverine? By the time Akuma is out Wolverine is in FULL rushdown mode and Wright cannot press a button or he dies.

Maya has more active frames than Akuma assist BUT she has a much longer cooldown. As soon as she has been used up and Wright isn't at 3 pieces.... he is FREENIX. What is he going to about Dive kick, Akuma assist call, cr.L's, insta over head j.L? If he calls an assist now he lost the match because he gave up a happy birthday to Wolverine and Akuma in the face.

In addition, after Wright gets the 3 pieces he still has to land a hit on an opponent. Good luck trying to get a hit against the numerous zoning teams he will have to fight against.

If Zero's DLC costume was X. That in unison with the poster in the DotFP stage would be hilarious.
 
I'm all for theory fighting, but there's an awful lot of absolute conclusions being drawn for what is essentially day one phoenix wright technology. lol

Nope, not assuming that at all. Wolverine and Akuma are on the offense. In the scenario you described, you disregarded the possibility of PW using an assist to further strengthen his defense against Wolverine + Akuma assist. And is Wright not able to call an assist WHILE Maya is out or is that just an assumption your making there?

Your last paragraph is why I believe Wright will have difficulty when it comes to hit confirming that objection. Mobility is definitely a huge weakness of his.

He can call an assist while Maya is out. He just can't call Maya again until she is completely gone offscreen.

Gold Armor Hsien-Ko, Ghost Rider's Flame assist, Cold Star, Sent Force, or any other assist that locks down is going to give him more than enough time to get all 3 pieces of evidence. Turn-about mode is a legit threat.

The teleport(ers) are a legit threat to everyone, so of course they're gonna give him issues.

He can call out assists but again... Wolverine is going to be at point blank range to him and if he calls an assist the assist will get scooped up for an easy kill. You can only call assists against Wolverine when they are invincible or at a distance away. And Akuma assist eats up projectiles.

You can't use Maya moves in Courtroom stance and Maya has a long cooldown. But the Barrier does block projectiles and physical attacks.
 
Since when doesn he punch like a machine gun? Was that possible in vanilla? I know that hyper was the only mashable one in there.

I know but I hadn't ever seen it used much at all in the past so I figured they might have upped the number of hits mashing does in Ultimate.

:( that would be me. I was kinda hoping we can get a future DLC pack for free...but i doubt it.
 
If I had to guess it probably will in fact be some alt costumes, but not the ones from vanilla since some people would already have those. I do kind of wish they would say what exactly the vanilla bonus is though since the game is out soon. Maybe at the panel tomorrow.

I'd love that, really wanted the Chris outfit but I held off for a complete alts package down the road.

PSN is especially finicky when it comes to already owning a piece of the big package, but I will be playing cyber-akuma on launch day mhm

Niitsuma said an unannounced mode unlocked early... a leak says the 6 DLC Alts from MvC3. The former is more likely than the latter but this is something ambiguous that needs to be cleared up officially.
 
I would prefer getting the costumes they removed from Vanilla to be a free download to getting Ginger Ryu.
 
Well, what if it was "unlock DLC alts" for people without them and "unlock new/DLC mode" for the people with the alts already?

...Yeah, I really doubt it too.

Lets be even more pessismistic! If it does unlock mode it'll be that infinite meter one.
