Also sent hiding behind the building is hilarious to me for some reason. X-Men was the best.

HK-47 said:lol still didnt fix Arthur, buffed fucking Wesker and they give Haggar the most worthless OTG ever and a level 3 that requires grinding your joystick.
Seriously fuck mashing.
shaowebb said:This. Mashing sucks and now we gotta grind our sticks? I just wore out my H button last night on my stick and have to order parts to replace it. The thought of buying a replacement stick is horrifying to me considering the price of some of these arcade parts.
Seriously Capcom...mashing is shit and stick rotation is not only worse, but it means you will have even less change of damage building that move than the mashers do on their moves. No one had any complaints about lack of mashing before unless they were named Hori or Madcatz.
I'm going to keep Sentinel. Capcom will soon realize what they did wrong and make it right.A Pretty Panda said:Glad I dropped Sent for Wesker last week lololol.

shaowebb said:Looking things over it seems like Tron may be a special cancel type of player now. I'm not sure how I feel about that...I know she got nerfed here and there, but this is just kind of odd. I guess I'll know if its a big deal if I start seeing folks make her long as hell combos start flowing like a Dante combo with cancels or some shit.
shaowebb said:Boy Haggar was a let down...without a way to cancel that OTG into any follow through its pretty worthless and other than Spending a whole meter he has no way to cut the distance to get inside versus zoning. I like invincibility on his hyper and all but it won't solve his main issue of being slow and pinned into a corner. Why hath trashcan forsaken him?
SAB CA said:I dunno... they really seem to lack imagination sometimes. I hate the fact Haggar will need someone like Doom to make his OTG worthwhile, but maybe it'll work out REALLY well with some new character (like Wright's paper-thumpin-walk assist) to become something truly special...
Violent Axe limited invincibility would have been very nice...
Then don't put Gold Armor on him?As long as Arthur cant either renew armor or doesnt knockdown (stuff they probably would have mentioned) he'll suck.
Sentinel is better in UMvC3, though...Glad I dropped Sent for Wesker last week lololol.
Arthur
- Health increased to 850,000.
- Changed falling speed of j.S.
- j.S can OTG.
- Added starup invincibility to Heavenly Slash.
- Increased untechable time for first hit of Hellbound Slash.
- Additional hits can be added to Goddess' Bracelet through rapid buttons presses.
Yeah, but Wesker is better than Sent in general.Karsticles said:Sentinel is better in UMvC3, though...

IntelliHeath said:Exactly, Haggar + Phoenix Wright team could work imo. I need lab time on that when the game release to see if it work.

I played Spencer for a while but just couldn't get into him. Sometimes I go back and give him another shot but it just never clicks. Sentinel has been one of my favorites characters in the Marvel universe for a really long time. (Mostly because he is a giant robot and I just think that's the coolest thing ever) I remember getting sad when the X-Men would slain them in the old cartoon. Specially when Wolvy did it for some reason. I guess it was just because he always had sometimes to say afterwards :lolshaowebb said:I dropped Sentinel for Spencer once I learned his combos and since Bionic Bomber is an easier link into stuff than S>armor piercer after zip kick I'm 100% certain he's staying my anchor. However, I will likely tweak that combo in the air more because the changelog says that zipkick height has been changed. So long as I'm still close enough to hit them this means I may get more hits in before ground. I may be able to S Bionic Bomber in the air if the startup doesn't kill the linkability. So looking forward to those faster Zip lines *mwahahaha!*
Also I've been poking my way through the rest of the cast lately between running stats and I'm finding strange affinities for cast. I find myself enjoying Super Skrull more and more and I'm kind of confused why he doesn't see more play. Those buffs look great so I'll be experimenting with him in Ultimate for a third team for me. It may be the team I try using Magneto for.
Final note...I've also been playing through MVC2 for nostalgia after that picture I drew and I miss Iceman + Hayato sword rush assist soooooo much now.![]()

I find him pretty cool, he's someone I'd play if I didn't already like so many other "weirdos."

Can't see myself dropping him. The robot will return one day, hopefully updated from his current Vista state.
Nate405 said:Replacement parts are actually pretty reasonable. Buttons are $2-3. If you know which switch needs to be replaced on your stick that's also around $2 and worst case you replace the whole PCB switch assembly for about $12.
Mashing is a terrible game mechanic though.
dankir said:Do we know what the hitpoints for the new characters are? Hoping NOVA is high up there.
Additionally I thought Thor was giving a new fireball move that hits behind your opponents, I don't see it mentioned anywhere.
dankir said:But see don't most of you guys play with an arcade stick with 8 face buttons? I do and I plan to map all three attacks to one button ( farthest right on my hitbox and TE sticks ) and that'll do the job no?
Just mash that one button don't risk accidental X factor.
Combofiend's Spencer mindfucks people just because it's Combofiend's Spencer. Most of his opponents mess up by over thinking the situation. Though I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing playing against him.shaowebb said:The key to Spencer play is don't use the swing when you can use the straight wall shots and try to stay zooming around a lot. After that remember that firing your zipline into someone stuns them enough to combo afterwards since it counts as a hit confirm. I mainly jump and zip a lot and fire a diagonal one right at someone. I don't know if that can cross people up or anything but it completely fucks people over a ton. Even if they block I seldom get pushed blocked off before I go for his overhead and knock them into stuff. I tend to zip in, start crouching a few hits and then stand into the overhead and go for launcher. It works a helluva lot and when it doesn't I'm usually either push blocked out enough to zip away to start the whole dance over againt or I simply zip out regardless.
Spencer mindfucks people a lot from what I've seen. Just watch Combofiend and don't worry so much about the combos...just follow his approaches and how he acts on the screen. It'll click. Spencer is a game of catch. Trying to grab folks with the arm from anywhere while zipping all around them and whenever they fall out of stuff trying to catch them with the arme is really the entire fun of the character.
I don't get how that move would have even been good. It's not like the beam crossed you up.IntelliHeath said:It was a troll trolling us.

We need to make that rumor huge so they actually patch it into the game.Professor Beef said:I skimmed through most of the last page, but was someone really asking where Haggar's rumored and never confirmed trashcan move was?![]()
Grapplers don't get projectiles, that's the basic rule of fighters. The only grappler that ever got one that I can think of is Mecha-Zangief, and he was leagues shittier then regular Gief.Mit- said:We need to make that rumor huge so they actually patch it into the game.
It would be awesome if it like, bounced around at different heights after he threw it, and traveled pretty fast.
This is MAHVEL.Professor Beef said:Grapplers don't get projectiles, that's the basic rule of fighters. The only grappler that ever got one that I can think of is Mecha-Zangief, and he was leagues shittier then regular Gief.
I would say Thor needs the hammer throw more.Mit- said:We need to make that rumor huge so they actually patch it into the game.

Mecha-Gief was also in MAHVEL 2. What's your point?kirblar said:This is MAHVEL.
Well then give him something else to make up for it. Hulk has enormous range, armored normals/specials, gamma charge, and gamma wave. She-Hulk can jump all over the place and off of walls and slide across the screen and charge at you etc etc. Thor has actually good mobility, a beam, attacks that have very high priority and travel across the whole screen, and command grabs that lead to BIG damage. All of them do big damage.Professor Beef said:Grapplers don't get projectiles, that's the basic rule of fighters. That this is exactly the type of game where experimenting with giving a grappler a (bad) projectile would be fine.Professor Beef said:Mecha-Gief was also in MAHVEL 2. What's your point?
Haggar was thrown into the game to fill the grappler slot, like Zangief before him. It still amazes me how people are shocked that he's an awful character with a good assist.Mit- said:Well then give him something else to make up for it. Haggar does no damage, 90% of the cast can easily run away from him, and he really doesn't have any good options for opening his opponents up. He just relies on them fucking up and hitting them in the head with a pipe because they pushed a button when they shouldn't have.
Would people be happier if you had to spend a bar to give Haggar a projectile, then?kirblar said:That this is exactly the type of game where experimenting with giving a grappler a (bad) projectile would be fine.
Mit- said:HOLY SHIT CHUN-LI. She is definitely a viable character now. It sounds like she can combo off her uppercut, she's got a real reversal in addition to her decent uppercut, and the head stomp OTG's.
Not quite sure how that OTG is gonna work, but if it ends with her landing a hyper combo it'll be good...
A projectile that wasn't really good on its own but could say, help defend against zoning, help Haggar get in for mix ups or DAT PIPE in the air would be fine.Would people be happier if you had to spend a bar to give Haggar a projectile, then?
