Not really. I mean yeah it's a gimmick like Phoenix but it's a different gimmick and no where near as powerful.Jintor said:Turnabout mode is madness. In extremely simplified design it's a bit Phoenix-like.

Dude, game's not even out, people are just coming up with strategies on their feet. I mean, you could tag him out, then just DHC in to the Maya super and slam objection then.Dahbomb said:That's what I think on the matter. It's not as easy as getting 3 evidences and you are good to go. Already I see people getting 3 evidence and then standing there wondering how they are going to land a hit. Then they start jump forward and doing Objection all obvious like. I saw someone tag out Wright when he had the 3 evidences and then activate Turnabout via TAC... which IMO is an even worse strategy because you are relying on a TAC to activate the gimmick (which can be countered and in UMVC3 it can be punished).

Infinite Justice said:I don't think they would mind since that's one of the things that stops him from being straight up broken.
Plus it makes sense given the character.
Nils said:I think it's because it fits the character. If they had given someone like Wesker a random core mechanic there would have been a lot more whining.
It's fast, the resulting abilities are pretty consistent with each other, and it fits his character. It's not that different from just having a move that needs stocks like MODOK.2&2 said:I'm surprised more tourney players aren't upset that there's a randomess factor in the evidence gathering.
I don't mind people coming up with strategies, in fact I have a PW strategy of my own too. But I have mostly seen gimmicks and that "DHC into Maya" then use Objection... that's gimmicky to me too.God's Beard said:Dude, game's not even out, people are just coming up with strategies on their feet. I am not a fan of this random aspect of Wright at all. Neither am I fan of Hsien Ko's random item toss either. For Wright it's more important and it's not as simple as just good/bad evidence. You get different types of projectiles like the multilock projectile or the 3 knife projectiles which are excellent but some of his others one aren't like that straight fireball one. It's going to hold him back in high pressure situations. People aren't complaining about it because Wright isn't likely to be a major threat at tournaments ie he isn't a top tier contender at the moment.I'm surprised more tourney players aren't upset that there's a randomess factor in the evidence gathering.
dats a good question, hell can you tag out with Maya Shield out lol?God's Beard said:Can you tag out during the Maya hyper?

Who said anything about random tags? And it's not like that would be the only setup, but you can't deny that it has its uses.Dahbomb said:I don't mind people coming up with strategies, in fact I have a PW strategy of my own too. Tag out means that you are risking getting hit to activate the Turnabout (tags don't hit overhead anymore according to Seth). 2 meters used to DHC activate Objection = less meter for LVL3. What if your other character gets killed in the process? Wright has to eat a mix up when he comes in which in the air he has little ways of escape.
At this point, I find it my more efficient to just sit with the Evidence and not do anything stupid like trying to jump in with H's or do raw tag outs. Abuse the power of the projectiles and play super lame with Wright while using an assist like Hidden Missiles or Daggers of Denak. You can probably frustrate the opponent into a hit especially with the "Multilock" evidence of Wright (which is also a gamble if you get it or not but if you get it, it's a great insurance against teleporters).
