hahah what difficulty were you on

Just default difficulty.
It's the last last stage where I had to knock the gun from his hands and then wrestle him
. Don't know why but I kept missing the timing.

is it more comforting to believe that i am mocking this game to troll the fanboys than an honest belief in its utter mediocrity? and can't it be both?

I am just about to complete the game (95%) and I have to say that it is the best game I have played this year and *yes* I own Call of Duty4, Bioshock, Mass Effect and Halo3.

I know the game doesn't break any new ground in terms of play mechanics, but the way that the game excels in the tried and true, makes for one hell of an experience. The story really sucked me in, which is a surprise, since I didn't like the way it was introduced in the demo.

Game of the year (for me) doesn't have to be the most innovative (that may belong to Bioshock or Mass Effect), it just has to be the most fun. In that sense UNCHARTED is my GOTY.

I agree. I have all those games too but single player campaign-wise I simply like Uncharted teh best.

He trolls almost all threads. I don't think he actually likes games. The mod's will deal with him , if they choose.

Dialogue could have been a lot worse, Heavenly Sword worse. For what it was and what it needed to accomplish, it worked.

Man I want to hate you but I cant completely. Alundra is one fantastic game. That along with CSOTN and Tobal are just a few of the psone games I still have.

It's not actually trolling if you don't admit it

You can't expect from games to have movie quality dialogue and story. If you think about it what games have better presentation and story? MGS maybe and people still hate some parts of the story. The bald space marine games are too cheesy with the alien invasion or demon stories, japanese RPG's too cheesy with the evil mastermind stories and Nintendo games usually have no interesting story elements. What do you like?

My uncharted review:

Pros
- comfortable Indian Jones story
- great Skywalker Ranch sound
- wide open spaces that look good
- voice acting
- a nice gentle ride

Cons
- MASSIVE vertical tearing so many times I almost got headaches
- It's those Indiana Jones games! Except through Gears of Wars glasses. I think I liked the Indiana and gears games and stories much better.
- If you've seen one level, you've seen them all. I would have really liked more variety
- the gun play was not satisfying, and that was the main play type of the game. Maybe a little better spread of weapons

Overall, only good for a rent.

I look forward to Uncharted 2.

You know this seems to be becoming a pretty common case. It seems that some people just cannot enjoy high quality entertainment: state of the art. The condition can be quite hard to get over. Quality seems to be coming by a lot lately. At first, many try to ignore the symptoms. They say, "That won't happen to me." But alas, it seems to be frequenting this generation quite a bit. Lucky for you, a cure has been found. Uncharted is regarded as one of the best games ever in many a gaming community. They would wish to share the fun. So I thought I would help you out and prescribe you to the cure. Your future awaits you...

Prescription:
Take a listen to this piece of music. It is by the Super-Ultimate Angela Aki. She sings the song for you right now. Uncharted is calling you home.
:D

Now that's how brainwashing is done! :lol

I already though Uncharted was better then anything else this year but after that song....damn, I'm even more of a believer now that FFVIII has been tied to it.

I agree.

So many times I was thinking about the Indiana Jones games and how I liked the different levels / locations.

I'm thinking that in order to further increase brainwashing power I should edit the video and replace all of the visual feed with a picture of just the Uncharted case. I think it would be quite effective. :D Too bad I don't know how to do it.

Are you playing on a SDTV? Massive Vertical Tearing? I never saw anything like that. If you have seen one level you have seen them all, did you even play the game?
Underground ****, Crazy ass Submarine, Open Jungle with ruins, Huge Fortress, Murky Caverns, Old Bunkers, Car chases, Jet Skis. You are nuts man variety is not this games problem.
Did you even play this game?

I play on a large 2007 1080p set via HDMI. The game had a TON of tearing for me. Not everywhere. But I would say about 4 out of the 22 levels had it bad.

The game was set all over the same island. I got tired of the locations especially since they looked so much like Gears but with green.

Yes, too much of the jungle stuff for me. Sub you have to jungle platform to. Underground you have to jungle in and out of, fortress-church-anything in jungle, car-jetski-walk in jungle. It all ran together for me.

It's just my opinion. Can never believe when people ask if someone played the game just because they disagree. So rude.

I played it all on a huge HD screen with surround sound. It was a nice game, but is getting a lot of attention because there is not much else of note on the PS3.

I don't think people would be going crazy over this game is LBP or Killzone 2 came out at the same time.

Thank you so so much for saying you prefered the old Indiana Jones games better that clarified a lot for me.

eh, you say people shouldnt intrude on others opinions then you presume to say how others would react in a given situation...irony, no?

I don't think he was asking you. Care to share why you thought you were included in those statements? Either way, though, it is perfectly acceptable to ask of such. The person's comments can misguide other people if they are based on false propositions. But did you get the cure? :D

Heavenly sword had bad dialogue? I find it weird that two games that give the most cinematic experience I've ever had in a video game are being dissed for "bad" dialogue. Tell me, what game has "good" dialogue?
