Uncharted: The Lost Legacy |OT| Ladies Trip

The open world chapter isn't bad for what it is (so far), and the excellent shooting/climbing/puzzling mechanics carry it, but I don't really care for this type of level design in my Uncharted. Looking forward to the rest of the game if everyone's impressions are accurate. Need me some action and setpieces!

Just finished that section and I agree. I don't want more open world-y sections in my Uncharted games. I play these to escape from every single other game that feels the need to be open. It's not bad and I don't mind it here and there but I really hope they don't lean more heavily on it in the future.

That said, the puzzles so far are much better than some of the braindead stuff in most Uncharted games.

I never thought chapter 4 would be something folks complain about and people would prefer the strictly linear focus of most other chapters. My ultimate Uncharted would be a grand mixture of both. Just interesting to see.

That first level with the rain and lightning, wow. Looked stunning on my OLED! Currently in the middle of chapter 4 and anxious to start it back up tonight.

Uncharted should be Chloe's franchise from here on out. Wouldn't mind another entry in like maybe 3-4 years.

really, really enjoying this.

I'm getting some weird graphical effects on this game that are pretty distracting

It's almost like when there is a lot of motion on the screen, especially during cut scenes you can kind of see these faint grid lines across faces and other textures.

I've made sure my TV is in game mode but I'm not sure what else to check

Any ideas? I don't think I had this issue in Uncharted 4

I have a Sony XBR-55X810C

Pretty sure those are checkerboard artifacts. Perfectly normal.

Glad I saw this; I have a new tv and noticed the same thing and it scared me a little. Thanks for clearing that up.

Stopped during Ch.4 last night and the game is really impressive as expected. The Ch.4
open-worldish layout
is pretty cool to me, wouldn't want them to over do it and have a bunch of chapters like this but one is fine.

Just finished it and loved it, far exceeded my expectations. And a fantastic ending or start of something new for the franchise, I'd be happy either way.

On to Crushing plus 100% run next.

Here's some of my end stats.
Total Time:
6:30:08
(played on normal)
Time Spent Standing Still: 43:04 (game is real pretty)
Time Spent in the Air: 12:05
Time Spent in Cover: 06:29
Total Enemies Defeated: 270
Total amount of restarts/deaths: 22
Melee kills: 72
Stealth Kills: 32

Yeah, I really liked Chloe in this. She's the perfect protagonist for Uncharted. She is just as funny (or actually even funnier) as Nate, but she isn't the traditional action hero with the traditional hero complex. Chloe's moral is muddier and more questionable at times. Which is refreshing, because it makes her also a lot less predictable and also a more relatable human being.

lol, are those funny faces in the final game, or are they changable in some debug mode?

They are just crazy facial expressions that you can give her in photomode. She has perfectly normal facial expressions otherwise. ;)

Got it at noon, played only the survival mode *offilne* because I dont have plus anymore and because I am waiting for my gf to come home so I can play and she can watch. Very excited for this.

They're available right away via photomode. There's a few versions - about 10? They're great. I didnt play around with them til my 2nd playthrough as they can be quite disruptive in the realtime cutscenes. Fun.

Kicking myself for not pre-ordering this to get the Jak and Daxter remake... but whatever - the glowing reviews and thought of more Uncharted was too much to handle.

2 days better go by fast :D

Hmm a little shorter than I was hoping. UC1-3 had an average playtime of around 9-10 hours.

I'm loving re-playing J&D, but it's just a release of the PS2 game, not a remake.

Was enjoying it at first but must say I'm not feeling it anymore. Don't think it was worth the £30 I paid. Maybe half that. Chloe is a great character but not a fan of Nadine. The story isn't anything interesting it's just the usual "let's go find this ancient artifact before the bad guy with a private army". Gameplay isn't bad but tired of it now. If they make another Uncharted then I'm out unless they shake it up a bit.

Hopefully I'm nearly done. Just got the third water fall.

My best friend held off pre-ordering the game then he bought it day one any ways lol. He didn't get the Jak and Dax game and preorder theme but he told me he doesn't regret it one bit - the game is so satisfying/fulfilling on its own and IMO could easily sell as a 60 bucks game, but it's only 40.

Please stop by after you finish the game - I'm interested in what you think after you do!

people don't like chapter 4? that's where i'm at and having blast just exploring and collecting the tokens

Woah maybe my assumption of Chapter 4 being the worst in the game was wrong, just read up on all the stuff in that area and I missed out on a lot..will have to replay that chapter.

Oh I know. I've just had my expectations increase due to the devs saying it was in line with UC1 or 2.

Maybe they were stretching it for slow ass players like myself. :)

Edit:

Maybe this could be part of the reason too

That's about how fast I can finish 1 too (and 2 & 3 didn't take me much longer, probably 7-8 hours), so it could easily take you longer than that. Also didn't bother searching for the collectables, can see those taking quite a bit of time in this one.

I am playing on hard, still first run and spent 8h13m until now.
35% accuracy XD

Great experience even if it has no big surprises, but really impressive from development time perspective. The open region was great and gives TLL a fresh taint and the player the freedom what she/he wants to complete or not or better in which order.

Combat feels great and especially with the weapons from the mp.
Chloe gets a nice character development, but Nadine feels like a step behind, but the optional dialog brings enough depth to the character.

Now a break and later maybe the last session to close the journey of Chloe and Nadine.
Next playthrough then Crushing. :D

The shooting somehow feels nicer here than it did in 4, probably has a lot to do with the new weapons.

Yeah they changed most of the recoil. P90 and that other new gun are really freaking great to use. Really don't get how people are even going with stealth or whatever here, levels are so open / vertical that you can pull out some insane shit and get away with it.

Just did all of chapter 4 and it's hard to put down. There's just so much of everything. Graphics, tight pacing, encounters everywhere, nice platforming, puzzles and the overall interaction is at least Nathan + Chloe level of good. Pretty impressed so far, very very nice game

I played on hard, collected all the stuff in chapter 4 (not all treasures) and my playtime was about 10 hours. I died a few times on hard which added to the playtime. It also didn't help that i was constantly taking photos.

Wow! Naughty Dog has done it again. It took me around 8 hours to beat on Hard and boy was The Lost Legacy a phenomenal experience. I can't wait until The Last of Us Part II but now the hunt for the Platinum begins.

Hmmm. So I just redeemed the Jak code online (still waiting for my disc from Amazon UK) and and then proceeded to the PS store to download it and I realised The Lost Legacy was free?!?!? I purchased it and I'm now downloading both Jak and The Lost Legacy even though I don't have a disc. Have I missed something?

I'm excited to start playing this today. This is the first UC game that I really haven't been spoiled by too much. I mean, I did watch about 10 minutes of Western Ghats gameplay skipping around the video so as not to linger on any spot for too long, and I saw the reveal video. But that's pretty much it.

So for the people that already finished it: is Chloe capable of handling the series as the main character from now on? Basically, is she as good as Drake as a protagonist?

Yes, altho I wonder if they'll just switch to a different duo for the next one.

I'd say yes. And I'd go as far to say, if they develop their characters like they do here - I'd love one with cutter.

This game needs a spoiler thread.

Yes absolutely as good as Drake. I'd love to see them use this duo again but I'm sure if Naughty Dog wants to change it up next round, it'd still be great.

Yes, but I don't think she is as good as Nate. Nate and Sully combo is still the best and most charming.

Yeah, I'd love to see another game with Chloe.

I might be crazy but I liked the Chloe and Nadine dynamic more.
