*UNMARKED SPOILERS ALL BOOKS* Game of Thrones |OT| - Season 4 - Sundays on HBO

My assumption is that there will just be some explanation next season (probably from Thoros) about how they found her body in the water months before. Just like in the books. No need for a flashback, IMO.

I'm pretty sure stoneheart wont be revealed before brienne meets her, and I dont see that happening already, its surely possible, but I agree that there is no need to rush this. episode 10 has more than enough highlights.

Not bothered by the Emmy nom. Stoneheart is not going to look anywhere near as horrific as we imagine her from the books. Remember the audience hasn't seen Cat in well over a year. Lady Stoneheart needs to be instantly recognizable as Cat, so her face isn't going to be some ghoulish nightmare of melting skin. I expect they'll apply heavy makeup and die her hair, but as for prosthetics, I don't see how they're necessary. We don't even have to see her throat if she's wearing a scarf.

Probably posted before, but I didn't see it in the last few pages at least. Had me in fucking stitches.

And listening to the Season 4 soundtrack... There's some good stuff in there. Based Djawadi.

That audio preview already of "The Children" has the Game of Thrones theme embedded within the song.

So either Stoneheart has an upbeat feel to it, or Bran is the last scene.

Y'all keep saying "Lady Stoneheart reveal". But like, there's no -veal to re-; we don't have some cloaked or mysterious force stalking the Crownlands. We haven't seen Dondarion in ages.

Not sure it matters. Show her next to Thoros and people will know what's up.

There's a bit of the "North" theme in there, so it's definitely something North-related. There's a good chance a lot of it will be end credits music, as was the case with "Mhysa" and "Fire and Blood" too.

Ah man, we ain't getting LSH :<

Unless we get LSH and then we get a fly around to all of "her" children doin their thing?

I'd really hope the last scene is Stoneheart if only because even in the books its a great WTF moment that seems to come out of no where and makes you want to jump right into the next book. It would be the same on the show.

Seasons 1 and 2 had some great final scenes but last year's with Dany crowd surfing was absolutely dreadful.

The crazy thing is, where the hell is Umber? That is the guy who got his fingers bitten off by Grey Wind, right? Didn't he get captured by the Freys in the book, and he's been there ever since?

I know the show character/actor hasn't been seen since about the same time he got his fingers bitten off. The actor (Clive Mantell) wasn't available for the 2nd season, and sometime around that time, he got into some sort of altercation where he got jumped, and had part of his ear bitten off.

Yeah, in book canon he's a prisoner at the Twins. In the show, he was sent to clear the Lannisters out of the Riverlands off-screen and never resurfaced. They could come up with some plot line for how he escaped an awesome battle in which he lost his ear and made it back North. Ever since they said Rickon is going there, I figured he would be taking Robett Glover's place as Manderly's wingman in the Rickon plot.

Yeah they just never bothered to recast him when the actor left. It's a shame because he would have been great at the wedding.

I guess I just mean I can see them dropping it in this ep because there is so much with Tyrion, the wall, Arya, and burned husks of children to get to. But it just makes us much sense to have the LSH reveal and cut to black after showing the relative position of all the Stark children.

The one thing I expect out of this episode is to do the opposite of what Blackwater and Red Wedding did -- rather than bringing everyone together I expect this ep to show the diaspora of the Starks and reveal that they're all still very much the center of the show. I think this will throw some of the show-only people a bit of a bone. LSH would be essential to that.

The only point against no LSH at the end of the episode is that there's been a total lack of mention of her and only one mention of BWB this entire season. It'll be pretty disappointing if Stoneheart isn't the last scene of the season because as already said, it's the perfect shocking moment to get people talking in a way Tyrion's shit won't so much.

Only trouble is that this likely means Brienne has no reason to visit the Quiet Isle next season, which could mean the
Gravedigger is cut/debunked
.

That's one of those things that wouldn't really work on TV like Barriston being "White Beard". Don't know if the Quiet Isle is all that important anyway, much of Brienne's traveling would be ultimately pointless anyway give its purpose in the book isn't really needed in the show.

I hope the Stoneheart reveal is pushed back to next season. There's been absolutely no build up to it and I think it would come off as a cheap shock if they just dropped it on the audience at the end with no explanation.

The only build up in ASoS was a couple mentions of her (which admittedly the show hasn't done which is disappointing) and a vague dream which wouldn't click until after reading it again so that's not that much different from the epilogue. She's been pulled out of the river for months at this point if they're going to actually use the character.

Unless the argument is 'Season 4 is supposed to cap book 3 and Stoneheart is supposed to be there" I don't see why it can't wait. I think too many people in the thread are getting a case of the sposdas

At most I hope they show Thoros and Beric finding a body we don't see. Hmmm, about that point, are we too far to show them finding her and Beric dying? I don't think this show has ever cut back in time, even a little bit so far. They sure aren't going to say '2 weeks ago...' and THEN show the set-up

But season four is supposed to cap book three and it really is the big "WTF" moment at the end of the books that's also perfect for the show, if show watchers really want to know what's going on they can always spoil themselves. They were too far from that point even at this season's premiere since weeks had already passed between last year's finale and this year's premiere and then a couple more weeks passed from episode one to episode two.

I wish Oberyn's face wasn't in fifty different pieces. It would have been nice to give him a proper sendoff.

He is after all an ambassador of Dorne, a prince, etc.

After watching ep. 9 for the third time I have to say, the music was fantastic! Still got chills when Jon came out to see the giants and mammoths charging through.

The other thread has me rolling right now as show watchers are explaining the wall.... Go read, really amazing. Cyan is patient.

lol that Abed guy declaring himself Lord High Cartographer doesn't realize Qarth is east of Slaver's Bay.

I'm dying lol

This is why the shows spells out shit so blatantly. It's annoying but 90% of the audience needs to be babyfed with this sort of info.

My non-reader friend thought that Jaime was called the kingslayer because he killed Ned Stark. To this day I have no idea how he put that together.

THIS IS THE SPOILER THREAD
EVERYONE DIES THAT READS YONDER

Oh god imagine how painful it will be to make it obvious enough without literally spelling it out

My guess is that they'll leave Lady Stoneheart for the first big shocker of the next season. Ep 10 will end with Bloodraven and a weirwood vision.

I know people who watch this show and can only name 1 or 2 characters MAX. And that's not an exaggeration.

Do they watch the show, or have they just seen every fourth episode?

I've seen about twelve episodes of Community, so I know the basics of the characters, but I wouldn't say that I "watch Community".

I just asked my mom how many Game of Thrones characters she could name. She came up with Cersei, Jaime, the Mountain, Jon Snow, Robb, Joffrey, and Dany.

I'm shocked she got that many. I never hear her call characters by first name. It's always the midget, the midget's friend, daddy stark, daddy lancaster, the grandma, the little stark girl with a sword, dragon lady.

Yep my old man still calls Ned Sharpe and every other character by their general description. Pretty embarrassing but I don't have the heart to correct him.
TBF though Sharpe and Stark sound pretty close. If Ned's first name was Boromore or something like that I'd imagine a lot of people would be making a similar mistake.

nah man they watch it. My mom for instance has seen every single episode and cannot name a single person other than Tyrion.
