So I haven't skimmed this thread too much, but how do you guys think this episode will play out, like what's the end if the episode. Cliffhangerish death or more like an episode 9 death where it's final and complete by the end.

I wonder if a clever non-book reader will notice the post count in this thread ballooning right meow and put two-and-two together.
lol I was thinking the exact same thing. I'd be wondering why this thread seems to be hovering at the top constantly the past day or two.

I doubt they notice though. They probably just think you're all nuts.

Me too. The actor portrayed him so perfectly. Every time he's on the screen, my cousin's who have never read the book all get this "I hate this character but he's so awesome anyways" reaction lol

Basically. He just portrays him to perfection. Hate him but he's so entertaining.

;_;7

It has to be final, it would serve no purpose to break up the event. It should end with Cersei crying histerically and then turning her death gaze at Tyrion and demanding he be arrested. Then end on a Tyrion "oh fuck" face.

I would bet the latter. Dead as a doornail. Full blown chaos.

Hey you're posting in here too. :lol
haha I don't include myself. I only post passing comments while you're all going nuts.

ALL OF YOU. That and I work nights so I'm never here when the episode actually airs :( I have to catch up on pages and pages of both this thread and the other one. Especially so after tonight!

I say we all change avatars in honor of our beloved king.
my avatar is basically sansa tonight

I still don't understand the dragon over KL in the trailers, and what seems to be a fight between Shae and Bronn...

Should be a fun episode tonight.

A couple quick notes:
- Please don't post gifs from the previews and promos or anything that hasn't aired yet.
- Any casket dancing and other shenanigans in the other thread tonight (or in general) will probably be met with a ban. This includes things like posting grinch.gif, "The book thread sends their regards", and any other nonsense like that. Just stay out of the other thread. Thanks.

Awww, I enjoyed posting my red wedding .gif last time.

Huh? That's pretty innocent fun

Scared to venture into this thread because I've only read up to SoS, but just had to see the comments leading up to tonights episode. I can't wait to see the fallout after Joffrey is killed.

It's obnoxious.

I'm not a fan of the way we're separated as book readers and show watchers, two groups that should have no interaction. I understand it totally, but I think the lengths to which we're discouraged from posting there is extreme. An event such as tonight, to be at least, is a chance to just pop in and say hey.

Even if that hey is a 'The book thread sends its regards' or something.

I just don't see the harm.

Were you not here for last year? It always goes too far. The best course is to chop it off at the bud.

Just make sure you don't read the thread during the week, which is the point where spoilers are at its peak. Sunday is safe day.

The posters that went to far would be banned, and rightly so.

But whatever, to keep the peace I won't post. Only read. It's just...bleh, I'll be watching it tonight with the same group I've watched the past season and a half, all non-readers. The absolute last thing I want to do is spoil anything for them. I absolutely love watching their reactions and there's nothing better than just sitting smiling at them once it's over!

The only winning move is not to play.

After all the animosity that's been built over some people leading and toying with non-readers, posting something akin to "the book thread sends its regards" just comes off as condescending and being a jerk.

I'm extremely excited, for several reasons.
we might see the new mountain for the first time, and his performance will be very important for the most important scene in the season
we will see where drogons shadow comes from, I still hope its bran, but its probably dany
and of course, gleesons performance, he did such an amazing job so far, more than perfect casting in my opinion, he was nothing short of iconic. I have no doubts he wil nail it. and of course the reactions, I really cant wait.

Fair enough.

Just imagine how it'll be when they overtake us haha!

Already read the books, but when it comes to spoilers and hints in general, whenever people post hints and things like that, even if it's something vague (like a bunch of book readers trooping in and saying a well-known line), my mind often goes into overdrive and I manage to put 2 and 2 together and I figure out what happens before it happens instead of being shocked. I hate to inadvertently spoil someone of a moment that I really love, so I'm fine with the separation. It's nice enough to just talk to personal friends for the actual interaction and observe the pure show/Unsullied community at large speculating.

I actually haven't been watching the show after Season 1 besides some youtube clips of my favorite moments, but I think I'll make a special exception and tune in tonight for an end-of-the-weekend pick me up. It's too bad that Jack Gleeson is likely retiring from acting, but his reasons are respectable and I'm glad that he's making the choice now while he's still pretty young.

Some people find that behavior ("Herp derp, did you guys like the episode? :)") obnoxious.

It is, imo.

I doubt many are prepared for this. With an episode 9 or even 10, non viewers pretty much know to stay off twitter for fear of spoilers. I feel bad for west coast viewers lol, they're gonna be spoiled so fast.

That's awesome. Did you seriously just make that? Is there any place that has an avi-dump of Joff avatars?

I only "made" it in the sense that I resized a Simpsonized Joffrey image that I found via a google image search, then added a background color and a drop shadow. I definitely didn't draw it if that's what you are asking. Not sure about a good source for Joff avatars though.

I'm still disappointed that Sky won't be airing this one as it airs tonight.
It was somehow more fun being able to comment as things happened last week and read all the discussions straight after :(

It is, but there are ways to watch it. If not in that quality.

I am really excited for this episode tonight. I'm hoping they really portray the feeling of disbelief that it's happening I had when reading it. I remember my thought process being like...

"oh okay, so he's choking..someone will probably save him...oh he's still choking...oh wow he's turning purple..is it really happening like this? really? this is the way this happens?...well okay then"

haha, I didn't know what to think for a few days.

Really glad he didn't get some overly glorified death though.

Doesn't HBO air the episode at the same moment in the US?
