My dad wants Joffrey to die so bad. He should like this season.
People always ask me, "Don't spoil anything else but does Joffrey at least die?"

My answer is always "On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero". [/fight club]People always ask me, "Don't spoil anything else but does Joffrey at least die?"
- NY Daily NewsThe sharply written, slow-paced premiere ratchets up the tension on whats reported to be the bloodiest 10-episode season yet. 4 out of 4 stars
All of this unfolds at a snails pace at least in this first episode and for some, that may be a bit of a let-down after last seasons violent conclusion. But thats fine. This is a series that has already proven its mettle, and Thrones can afford to move its chess pieces around before the heads that matter begin to roll. Game on. 4 out of 5 stars.

Can we just...never talk about that Davos/Mel/Stannis scene from the end of S3 ever again? All of the posts back on page 5 were so spot on, and it's probably the most infuriating scene in the entire series.
I have to think that us Stannis fans aren't the only ones waiting for him to shrug off the yoke of Mel's influence and I really hope that's his arc this season. We've still got time for Davos to be the one to convince him that he's doing it (going to the Wall) for the kingdom and because it's the right thing to do, not because the Lord of Light has foreseen it or whatever.
I'm holding out hope that we're going to get the "cart before the horse" speech in ep. 10.
You know, when they cast that guy as Ramsay I was totally expecting the Internet to explode I a fury of Theon/Ramsay slashfic. The shippers have really let me down on this one.
Do you guys think we'll see Jon warg into Ghost this season? If that's how he ends up surviving his assassination attempt at the end of ADWD, then they'll have to introduce his warging sooner or later right?
I'd think so. Especially if Bran starts going all TreeBran, you'd think they'd expand the warging stuff to Jon and maybe Arya.Do you guys think we'll see Jon warg into Ghost this season? oh hey WhereAreMahDragonz. I didn't notice that was you without the flareon avatar.
I get asked that question by my friends as well. I just don't say anything because I don't want to spoil it. Its pretty obvious thats hes going to die at some point though. The kid is just to stupid to survive for long in the game of thrones world.

I don't think it's that hard to believe the people posting in the threads are the same people buying the DVD's and re-watching the show every year I wold think they wold remember the whole conspiracy that launched this whole mess.It seems more unlikely that people even remember who Jon Arryn is.I can see the revelation at the end going right over people's heads, unless we're reminded who he is.
I think that wold be terrible they've been building up the White Walker threat for such a long time it wouldn't seem right to have the White Walkers beaten by a few Northmen. Plus we have that whole vision of the Iron Throne covered in snow and it looking destroyed.I wouldn't be surprised if the people south of the wall never know what happens in the climax of the white walker vs. humanity thing up north and go on focusing on petty things like the game of thrones. Would be bittersweet for some character like Dany or Jon or even Stannis to save the realm while dying and have the majority of westeros discount it as silly stories/superstitions when spring comes.
If Jon ends up being a Targaryen, I'd like to see him change his name. Jon Targaryen sounds pretty bad.
They've been keeping the warging under wraps. I was one of those nasty people who watched the series first, and really, I had no idea about the warging thing. We haven't seen Arya getting inside Nym's body yet, and Jon's warging is also pretty clear from early on the books, but no word of that on the series either.
I hope they handle it right.
My least wanted ending is that it ends up in a democracy.
Like...ugh.
Aegon? Put a Targaryen on the throne.
Martin should abolish the throne at the end.

#what a twist
dragons melt down the iron throne on accident. No one ends up taking the throne because its gone.
Haters gonna hate ending.
I think King's Landing is going to go up in a giant ball of flames when all that wildfire Aerys placed below the city goes off at some point.
Robb's dead
Jon's sworn to the Night's Watch
Bran and Rickon are presumed dead and too young to resurface as claimants to the North
Arya is missing/dead and again too young
Sansa IS the key to the North. She's been a big victim and made some naive mistakes, but she HAS been learning how to play the game of thrones from Cersei, Joffrey, Tyrion, Margaery, Olenna, Littlefinger, etc.
She's the most political of the Starks due to the nature of her situation.

Can't believe we're so close to Season 4, I have some great memories of the Season 3 thread.

The strongest story arcs. The best one-liners. The most shocking demises. Whether they win or die, whether they're hero or villain or (like most people on this show) somewhere in between, each character on Game of Thrones can employ an entire arsenal of factors to win the game that matters most: the battle for being crowned the series' best character. As David Benioff and D.B. Weiss' smash-hit fantasy saga returns to HBO for its fourth season this weekend, we've ranked its 40 most memorable characters from worst to best. In a cast so sprawling that some kings didn't even make the cut (also: sorry, Hodor, we still love you!), who is the one true king or queen?

"Dare we say it: Renly was right."
How does Viserys make this list? He's the worst character.

Joff's death was definitely the most pleasant surprise of the series. It was a pretty nice relief after the Red Wedding, and completely unexpected.
Viserys was such a interesting character. Sort of felt sorry for him.

Harry Lloyd was great. He took a reprehensible character and brought his struggle to life. Obviously his death was awesome, but he made you feel for the guy.
I thought Joff's death was a bit anti-climatic the first time I read it, however it's one of those things that kind of sinks in. When you think about it more, he died one of the most painful deaths in the series. Robb got stabbed in the heart - sure he got shot a couple times by arrows, but he wasn't really in a prolonged period of pain. Joffrey choked to death, and ripped the skin off his throat during the process. That's like a top 20 worst way to go out bros, perhaps top 10.
