I just hope we don't get Bronn dragging Jamie out of the water in some secluded cove a half mile down and they get away and get back into King's Landing.

Which is probably what we're gonna get, given that I can't imagine (preview)
them holding off on a Jamie/Dany face-to-face tease

I assume it's mainly an excuse to get Jaime out of King's landing so Euon can settle in properly.

O shit

Euron is Moonboy

Everything makes sense now

Does anyone actually think Jaime is dead because that's kind of a dumb plot device they like to use a lot where they act like someone dies in the cliffhanger when you're "dude Jaime isn't gonna fucken drown."

What a weirdly specific request for Game of Thrones. Like you want them to have intercourse, but to make sure none of it actually on camera.
Well, seems to me that it's weird to you because your preferences are different.
Intercourse =/= nudity. Just because they show the characters having sex doesn't mean they have to show both of the actors' entire bodies on screen. I say the same for the GW x Missandei scene in episode 2 and GW is my favorite character.
I'm not too particular about that part of it, I just want Jorah to be secretly watching when it happens. And crying. Then he spots Longclaw next to the bed. Cries some more.
What about Tyrion? How would he react?
I've got some bad news, insiders have leaked the scenes ahead and I guess they're doing a sex scene with full penetration. It was a closed set, only the director, actors, and a select few fans who won the raffle.
I thought we weren't allowed to talk about the leaks at all.
No offence I find the idea of someone who's hoping for incest but is disgusted by even the slightest amount of nudity pretty weird.
No offense taken but why are incest and nudity in the same category? Two completely different things.

Tyrion has no designs on Dany, I think he would say "that is interesting" if Jon and Dany hooked up, but little else. I mean, Jon is by far the best marriage candidate that is still around given that he's a good guy almost everyone else isn't.

Interestingly enough, there's no word in High Valyrian for "gullible."

btw how common knowledge is it for show only people that Rhaegar is Jon's father?

Depends how much they've been paying attention.

It's been hinted, Arthur Dayne protecting the tower, Rhaegar "kidnapping" Neds sister.

But since we haven't seen the tourney at Harrenhall and so on it's hard to know.

After season 6 its essentially confirmed. (I haven't read the books, I'm just here because I find the differences/lost plot points interesting)

The tower scene and the the cut from the baby to Jon. I think D&D said somewhere they assume most people don't know tho so idk.

The only people that may not know are those that didn't pay attention to who those characters are and who didn't read a lick of any third party GoT episode reviews/write ups. Because it was EVERYWHERE on the internet at that point

Speaking of the Freys, isn't it kind of absurd that the rest of the Kingdoms haven't made a bigger deal out of an entire house getting poisoned/wiped out in one night?

Meh, assuming ravens were sent out, which isn't guaranteed, as I'm sure the power gap led to lots of murder, rape, and pillaging, I doubt they'd care. Eventually that might come into play, but the twins aren't really important to any faction right now. Bigger fishes and all that.

In the book, I'm sure Stoned Cat will give the Twins to Riverrun.

For show only people it's really just "unseen Targaryian"

With maybe a tiny bit of vague sense of the context re: Robert's rebellion

I imagine some might assume he was the Mad king.

Anyone paying a lick of attention knows, but there are people who haven't been paying any attention who probably don't.

This thread filled with a not insignificant amount of up there own ass book readers, had at least 1/3 of them not understand that the gold made it to KL and the army attacked was the rear guard. Despite Tarly EXPLICITLY SAYING SO IN EPISODE

Never ever underestimate people's ability to not pay attention.

That's not fair. Rhaegar hasn't really been mentioned since, what, season 5? When Selmy was talking about him? And they never made an explicit connection to Jon like they did with Lyanna. It's totally plausible for someone who watches but doesn't read theories to not know Jon's dad.

Friend of mine pieced together that they were related but still thought Lyanna was raped. Didn't get the subtext from the books that she deliberately ran away with him.

I was honestly pretty surprised as many show only people I know have pieced it together

I mean, I felt like they made it obvious it was the Prince (who is a Targaryen) and that the mom was Lyanna. At least as obvious as they could make it without requiring Max Von Sydow to go full Exposition Mode.

I mean, I don't know many show only people who bought that Rhaegar ran off with Lyanna against her will to begin with, but it's always been a minor plot point.

Let's not :(

I'm hoping we see Dany own up to the attack being one out of rage and frustration. There was no other point to it as it seemed to be the tail end of the lannister forces and she destroyed the majority of the loot train!

Lady stone heart talk a few pages back, huh. I'd like to propose that Stannis is alive and well, in hiding waiting to take on the night king one on one.

Sam will find the procedure to cure Night Kingitus in those books.

He will treat the Night King (the procedure is to chip off the ice).

Everyone will live happily.

I watched episode 2 again yesterday and it sure does feel like Varys' explanation for his randomly shifting loyalties was pretty dumb. If Varys just wanted non-horrible assholes on the throne and to protect the smallfolk he could have just maneuvered to get Aerys killed without a gigantic fucking war being necessary and then just gotten Rhaegar on the Iron Throne. Sure, Robert would still be pissed about Lyanna, but I highly doubt the lords of Westeros would rally to his cause when his entire cause was based around "the prince swooped my girl."

Show Varys is pointless, you need Aegon for Varys to mean anything.

correct about everything

i'm still convinced rhaeger was a (not so) secret asshole and completely insane, but yes, varys is pointless in the show.

Yup. Also losing the children scene really neutered (haha) his character.

I want Jaimie to be Azor Azhai in the show. To stab Cersei in the back, through the heart and to pull out a flaming sword. Also Cersei should wail to add some poetry, widows wail and all that.

Show people have really come around to Jaimie lately. Hope we have less scenes of Jaimie being roasted and some actual character growth. THIS WILL be the season he leaves Cersei.

I believe killing Ned's brother and father is what mainly signalled the start of the war. Lyanna running off made them go south.

If the show flashes back to Lyanna again i hope for a confirmation that Benjen helped her flee with Rhaegar.

I said this in the other thread: I think Tyrion is falling for Dany. The look of concern on his face when she was up in the sky seemed like one of love.
That pervert? He'd probably react by jerking it.

He's slept with half the whores in Westeros. No reason for him to get too jelly.
But isn't he lonely now

Tyrion doesn't really have an arc anymore, there's a reason most of Season 6 he was making jokes. Maybe he will develop one if they capture Jamie.

yeah they nerfed his character and I dunno why, you know. They're just making him unnecessary cocky. When Dany asks him what he thinks of the winter war he goes "a wise man once said you should never believe something simply because you want to believe it..." and Dany obviously called him out on his bullshit this time

but no Tyrion you jackass just say something like "I knew Jeor Mormont - Jorah's father. He saw these things, and I didn't want to believe him either. And now Jon is saying it too, and I trust the eyes of an honest man etc.." you know basically the same thing he said to Jon that would've made for way better dialogue rather than him doing one of his jackass lines like "I drink and I know things and the best convos are in elegant rooms" Dany obviously respected Jorah and now Tyrion is talking about his father shouldn't that mean something to her?

Thinking about it the scorpion shot at the dothraki should have gone through him and ripped him apart if it was capable of piercing Drogon.

is that where he left off in the book?
in the books he became a darker Tyrion (something the show Whitewashed), found another Targaryen and said he should go attacked Westeros, gets captured by Jorah, sold into slavery, meets another Dwarf, learns to care for her and signs himself into a mercenary group called the Second Sons (briefly mentioned in the show as under the command of Darrio).

Yea, in the custody of Mormont unless I am misremembering. Man, just thinking about the books, if Winds ever comes out I am going to have to read cliff notes first just to remember everything I've forgotten.
You can re-read the books!

Man them some long-ass books, I'm not reading them again.

I read Storm and Dragons twice. Dos. Never again.
