Upgrade to Windows 10?

To those of you who did the "dirty" (non-clean install) upgrade route:

1. What was your prior operating system? (Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1)
2. Do all of your old games and programs still work, or did you find the need to reinstall them?
3. Have you run into any incompatibility issues so far?

If anyone has Firefox and Edge on W10, can anyone tell me if Firefox shows up as an option to import favourites from into Edge? Only IE is an option, Firefox doesnt show as one.
Can't see anyone who has a similar problem online. Hope it's not just me...somehow.

1. Windows 8.1
2. Not had a chance to test them all, but Steam, Geforce experience (worked after a restart), Skype, Firefox, Dropbox all worked at least. Not had a chance to try a game sadly.
3. Only the 980Ti after it first booted up, but after a restart it worked again. Seemed it was like the driver installed only fully after a reboot after first boot.

Win8.1
Yes, they all work.
No, there have been no incompatibilities so far.

Great. Every program still there. Took about an hour for everything

Had you done any layout customization before the upgrade?

I'm wondering if stuff I've done like Windows XP-style taskbar (similar windows don't group together), or an added Quick Launch toolbar will work in Windows 10.

Everyone here's enjoying Windows 10...

...and i'm just sat here hoping one day Non-Genuine Users can upgrade and purchase Windows 10 Easily...

Getting a lot more stutter in Witcher 3 with 10 and the new nvidia drivers. :-/

Mine actually runs better....but then again I also just upgraded to 1.07 so maybe its that.
But working perfectly under Windows 10, running borderless window.

1. Windows 7 Pro.

2. So far every game ive tested works cept for Geometry War 3 which was running at 12fps, could need an update or my drivers are just fucking around

3. As I said so far only Geometry Wars 3 has given me any sort of issues, all my other programs run no worries. All my daily apps run perfectly. No discernible difference in performance for me

I'm afraid the creation tool doesn't recognize my SanDisk USB.

Using this one here:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DZPUOUI/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I found another USB stick that had just enough to fit W10 on it but my mobo/bios would not show it in the menu. I tried USB 3.0 and others and still nothing. Does the USB need to be FAT32 or NTFS? I was using FAT32.

My USB 3 sandisk extreme was the same. Didn't recognise it. Using a spare USB key I had lying around that seems to work. I think when you plug the Extreme 3 in, it doesn't appear as a removable drive - just a full normal drive, so it probably isn't detected by the tool.

So UK here and dont seem to have the update ready.

Did people just turn on their pc or restart it and it was there for them?

So I'm at the point where I can choose what I want to keep, but there's no option for a clean install via USB. All I have are these 3 options:

Keep personal data and apps
Keep only personal data
Keep nothing

Should I select "keep nothing" for a clean install?

Oh god I hope they didn't ruin SLI, have anyone tried it out on other systems yet?

Just did a very quick run with Witcher 3. Didn't notice any difference on SLI Titan X. I didn't notice in Nvidia Control Panel it says "SLI profile was changed", "needs to be refreshed" and applied.

On my problem, anyone got the Weather app to work? Even after App Store updates, any city I type it no results.

Snap got a serious downgrade :( I don't like how it works now, at least in tablet mode. You can't easily change out one half of your snapped apps, you basically have to resnap every time you want to change one of them.

So I can't, say, keep twitter snapped and switch the other half between other things at will, I have to resnap every time I want to change one of the apps. Not cool.

edit: Also, a small annoyance, but it seems like the background for my login screen is just the default wallpaper, and I can't find a way to change it. Anyone else getting this?
How do you even snap in tablet mode anyway?

Edit.. Got it

I'm looking through my update history on 8.1 and the "Upgrade to Windows 10" update keeps failing with a " 80240020" error code.

Is this normal? I live in Australia by the way. I am in the Windows Insider Program.

I am having the same problem but I found this. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-update-error-80246007#1TC=windows-7
Still preparing for install Ill let you know if it worked. Worth a shot at least. I just ran the windows update troubleshooter btw.

Edit. I have already done the Reddit trick, but I still got that error. Hopefully this does the trick.

Edit 2. Nope same thing. Oh well.

Most of the install went fine but now I've been stuck on this screen for the last 40 minutes.

Is that normal?

So I have Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. But only one PC at the moment.

If I install from USB/DVD do I just input my Windows 8 or 8.1 key to activate and that's them upgraded to Win 10 keys?
