US PSN: Golden Week Sale Celebrates Japanese Games

Y's is good but that is an action RPG. However you would definitely be able to finish it. Took me about 20-25 hours to beat and that was with exploring most of the map.

Chrono Cross is highly regarded arounf here and while not exactly similar to FF10 or 7. It seems to be the best sort of ground for you. Since you probably prefer Turn Based Combat.

Chrono Trigger you're better off getting on DS or playing anywhere else. The PS1 version is a last resort.

Can't say much about Atelier but from what little I have played. The game relies heavily on a time mechanic. That has you focusing on certain tasks until you have used them up for the ingame day time. Someone should do better in explaining it.

Well observed, that is correct.

Should I buy time and eternity, hyperimension nep victory, and p4g if I have hardcopies? Digital is really convenient but idk if I really want to spend extra money on them..

Otherwise, I'm def in for Symphonia, the chrono's, and meruru+ though. and maybe armored core

EDIT:

and should I get Muramasa?

If they do, They gonna get a lot shit on the ps blog, but yea, I kinda doubt they'll do that...maybe.

I hope the reason Dragon's Crown is not in this sale is cause it's planned PS Plus game.

Muramasa is going to be free on euro psn+ next month. You combine that with the fact that there's a trend of a game getting a heavy price cut shortly before going on psn+ and you have yourself a scenario where people are getting suspicious of really good deals these days. To give an example, just about every free vita game on psn+ in the last two months or so were heavily discounted before going free.

I thought their policy was to not do that. Did things change?

Really good sale! I'm really torn on whether to buy Muramasa or not. Games that go on sale have a tendency to go free soon after. :/

I've heard good things about Ys games, is this one good?

I'm probably gonna have to bite on that MGS Collection. Tales being 10 dollars already makes me feel just a little butt hurt but I'll get over it.

Dat Chrono Cross. I'm definitely getting that, but I'd rather play it on my Vita when I get it.

Do they have Cross saves for PS1 games?

Is there an OT for Hot Shots? I am curious what is actually included and what DLC there is available. Is this the version where everything was included?

Two DLC courses and two DLC characters are included. The other character (Kat from Gravity Rush) and the other course still have to be bought (99 cents and $2.99, respectively). The rest of the DLC is clubs and balls.

Devil May Cry HD collection on this sale with Plus: $8.99

Devil May Cry HD collection on EU PSN Easter Sale with Plus: €11.66

Fuck you, Sony Europe. I want to change my PS Plus account's region.

Now this is a goddamn sale

In for Chrono Cross, Persona 4 Golden, Muramasa Rebirth, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, Hot Shots Golf (if they add the Vita version), Soul Calibur V, and I'm still debating on Zone of the Enders.

Holy shit.

Wow, this sale is downright ridiculous! But I need some help here:

- I've never played an Atelier game, where should I start?! Should I just get all of them? =s
- At $3.75, rain is at impulse buy levels. But I don't have any idea what the game is. Help me decide whether to buy it or not.

That being said, I'm in for Symphonia, Armored Core for sure. Hell, for those prices I'll even try Neptunia and Time & Eternity. Any other suggestions? I think the rest of them will be dangerous enough for me to impulsively buy near the end of the sale.

Is the MSG HD Collection on Vita two separate downloads?

IIRC, the HD Collection download is one complete download, but they do sell the games separately. It's a weird situation.

The separate downloads came out a couple of months after the HD Collection hit, so they likely had to do some different things with them.

I bought it the last time it was that price & I thought it was rather nice. It's a puzzle platformer where you have to sneak past enemies or figure out ways into a new area. I think I would have been a bit disappointed at $15 since it can be completed within a few hours (including going back to chapters after finishing it to collect memories which takes about another hour as you can select chapters & checkpoints), but at the sales price, it's worth checking out. There was some really nice music as well.

I just want to confirm that buying the collection is indeed one complete download. When you open up the game, you'll have to select which game you want to play. Similar to the ps3 collection

I'm half tempted to get Atelier Ayesha, but I see on Amazon that there are copies of that game that already go for $25 or even less. Not sure what to do, I've yet to play an Atelier game myself as well.

Man, there are some fantastic deals. I'm gonna pick up Chrono Cross, Devil May Cry, Muramasa Rebirth, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles and Zone of Enders HD Collection.

Fuck you, Sony Europe. I want to change my PS Plus account's region.

Make a US account and start using it with Plus. Granted US Plus games aren't as good as EU's selection, but the $50 for Plus make up for itself in due time.

...While these sales are nice, is this any indication of Marmusa coming to NA Plus soon? I remember Rayman Origins Vita going on sale last August and in September the game landed on Plus. With Marmusa landing on EU plus...I think I will skip that sale; just spent 20 bucks on PSN last week on PSP games (taking advantage of the 'Glitch' to pick up MotorStorm, Twisted Metal Head On and Rock Band Unplugged).

However, the Chrono games only being 7.50 together sounds great (yes, I know the PS1 version sucks, but I've never played these games before :)) and Persona being at an good price to test it out (never played a Persona game before) make this sale great :). Rain also looks nice for 3 bucks; gave me Ico vibes from its trailer.

Hope everyone enjoys this sale; nice that people can pick up some great Japanese games for good prices :).

Thanks, that's pretty helpful. I'll buy it with the first haul for sure then. It'll be good to have a short & sweet kind of game to change the pace from 30 hour JRPGs heh.

Do they have Cross saves for PS1 games?

Yes. You have to pair your Vita to your PS3 and can do it wirelessly. It isn't in the cloud but it' so easy and convenient to go back and forth between Vita and PS3.
