There is something about it isn't there? I'm even enjoying FFIX more than I did 12 years ago when I first played it.
Suspend Feature, nicely integrated networking features, trophies, OLED, holding the game in your hand, playing on the toilet, pocket ps3, awesome d-pad.. I love this thing.
Man, I really want to take advantage of the spend $50 get $10 promotion but PS+ has me gun shy. I keep thinking that whatever game I choose will soon be a PS+ freebie eventually.
I have such a backlog of Vita and PS3 games that I don't need anything but I wanted to take advantage of the 20% discount (esp. since they gave me $10 recently).
I would like to get Vita or PS1 games since I'm unsure about whether the PS3 PSN or PS2 classic games will be playable next generation.

Yosp already said that PSN content won't transfer to PS4.
So unless they implement Gaikai streaming for free if you already bought a game on PSN, I'm guessing that's a solid NO.
You're right to stick to something playable on Vita. The only reason I bought retro/grade is because it's ridiculously cheap and exclusive... otherwise, I'm pretty sure I'm mostly done with PSN purchases for PS3 (unless there's a ridiculous deal).
Play it for fun.
If I was going to play games for fun, I'd play Eternal Punishment. OH WAIT, I can't do that right now. >:|

PSN/PS3 games on PSN now are pretty much a "you get to play them on your PS3 only at this point and for the foreseeable future, because we don't have an emulator for PSN/PS3 architecture. We might stream them, but then you'll have to pay for streaming access, so your PSN purchases won't matter anyway."

I hope Sony announces GT Vita E3 or sometime before. I would definitely rebuy a Vita for that game, if it has a career mode of course. I'm already missing the Vita lately, what a bad decision I made to sell it.
That would be amazing on Vita.

I saw that thread earlier but i decided to steer clear of it since many sony eyes were probably on it (where i feel a bit safer in here since this thread is all vitabros and moves quickly). But, yeah, GDC is supposedly when they are going to announce this stuff.
Brian from Retro City Rampage is well respected in the indie scene so his comments today are definitely good news and should only add momentum to what we all knew a year ago when we played Mutant Blobs Attack.... the Vita is the perfect platform for indies. Right price range, right types of games, look great on the screen. It just makes sense.
Hopefully Sony will keep filling in the gaps with bigger games and not get totally lost in the ps4 launch.
I'm such a huge Sony fan but I can't lie that I'm really disappointed that all of the money I've spent on PS3 and PSN games have a foreseeable shelf life.
It's not like I'm planning on selling my PS3 anytime soon but if Sony decides to shutdown the PS3 PSN there's a lot of content that I'll lose.
... But back to Vita...
Super stardust is definitely a pickup for me this week. I'm actually surprised that I don't have it yet considering all the fun I had with the PSN and PS3 versions.
But beyond that, I don't know what I'd get to be over $50 or $100.
I know the smart thing to do is to buy a game when I'm ready to play it but the collector in me wants to stack up on games for some unforeseen drought.

You couldn't download them again, but as long as you don't delete them you'll still have access to your content. Unless you routinely delete & download because you bought a lot of games and don't have enough space.
It's one of the reasons I'm not high on gaikai at all. Everything is dependent on a server.

Not that i've heard about.... but that obviously doesn't mean it's not happening.
Though my understanding is the Destination Playstation is more for retailers and usually is light on reveals. Though they certainly have some convincing to do with retail about the vita so a strong showing there makes sense - atleast from the outside.

thinking about getting stardust the price is right and i was interested in getting it since it i got my vita. Thing is i dont want it to go free a month later, its happened before. Plus im not sure i have the time. Probably will wait a day then decide, heavily leaning towards it.

Fog of war (and the need to wake myself up enough to not fall asleep on the drive home) had me working at the record for about an hour after I was done at the office. I had turned in a time of 00'33"73 during lunch and improved it to the one I eventually left standing thinking that was probably not good enough at the rate everyone else was going D:
Plenty of things actually went wrong during that run, and I was really disappointed I hadn't managed to break the 30 second mark. An adjustment to my strategy out of the gate shaved another second off my times in general, so I think 28 seconds is reachable with my current strategy.
Don't know how convincing it is but Sound Shapes puts a smile on my face every time I play it. Wearing headphones is definitely the way to go with that game.
I haven't gotten involved with the creative aspects of the game but I have enjoyed the levels that ship with it.
If it us on sale, it is probably safe to buy. The ps plus guys mentioned that games that are on sale won't be made free that soon. I think the rule mostly held up thus far.

The only cross play is that if you buy Rocketbirds on PS3, you get a discount on the Vita version.
Unit 13 is on sale.
And like others in here, I'd recommend it if you like TPS.

actually I would happily pick that up for $5. it looked like something I could get a few hours of stupid entertainment out of.
meanwhile I likely wouldn't pick up borderlands 2 for $10. I already spent $60 on it and really can't see much of a plus to playing it on a tiny screen with watered down AI/visuals.
i played and beat it already, Dust would be one of my top games from 2012 and would be an instant buy on the vita.

I just looked it up, and apparently Borderlands Legends is terrible. Not even a worthwhile purchase at $1 according to many people. Keep trashy spinoffs away from my Vita please.
