Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Interesting that the new release date for Tearaway is on a Friday. I guess The Last of Us was the first of a new trend for Sony to release major games on Friday?

I havn't played dark souls yet (I have it on PC, got it in steam sale and intend to play it later in the year). But if you like games where you take down big boss like enemies then try the demo for soul sacrifice. Its certainly not the same game but it might have enough similar to interest you.

I just checked out some vids of it... Insta-buy! It looks like a rollicking good time... Would love to see this depth of combat brought into the Gravity Rush series

MM are UK based, so it's possible they're talking about the UK release only (which would be a Friday by default).

Since learning about the weaknesses and detonating it showed how clever the combat is and how interesting spell choice can be in this game. In general I run 5 elemental builds that are all very similar but just different elemental versions. They are pinwheel, rising fist and homing spell on the first set and the second is pinwheel of opposing element and explosive or homing of opposing element and then AOE HOT as my last spell. I have a 6th set which is all the elemental pinwheels for fights like cerb who have high up weak points and are best to keep your distance from as much as possible.

Aiming to go 2 dark for every 1 light in build so I have stronger attack than defence but arn't left to weak.

Having so much fun with this. Very much looking forward to going online once I do the single player stuff.

I remember reading a review when it came out and some saying it was button mashy. Not sure what the hell game they were playing. Do that and your dead on anything but some of the earlier lvls. Plus only the 2 melee type spells even allow you to play that way..

Yeah the game really clicks once you realize you're supposed to use elemental weaknesses to your advantages. With that said though, there's some monsters that have no weaknesses and that's when you need to play with your own combos (I.e set them on fire then freeze them, freeze them then shock them). I really enjoy the challenge of the monsters too. I really need to pick up that game and finish off
magusar
but I think I might try to finish P4 before I go back to it.

I do. He bought a Vita because he tried out mine and one day and his mind was blown.

I saw a dude at the Dentists office with a Vita. We were both playing our Vitas and we shared a moment.

im slightly jealous.

My brother actually has one but we live about 45 mins away and both have a family so never get the chance to actually play anything on them together. He mainly uses it on his commute. We played LBP once and that was it I think. Dont think I have ever seen another one in the wild.

On my plane back from Vegas to PR, someone two rows in front was playing EDF Portable. If I could have turned off airplane mode on the plane, I would have asked him to play. :(

I have a few local friends with vitas as well. They have good taste.

Il just do it with bots to get the easier ones out the way and then go online for the bigger encounters.
Bots do almost no damage but cause the HP of the monsters to increase (around 140% HP with 2 bots vs 100% solo). If you feel confident that you won't die, it might be more efficient to do the missions solo.

Would you lot want Red Dead Redemption or Bully more on Vita?

I know you want GTA more, psp versions were fantastic - imagine on Vita...but yeah. Out of the others they have. Bully actually looks really fun. I missed both.

Is the Soul Sac DLC quests Forgotten Pacts?? How do you access them??

Yes they are. They are in the "Forgotten Pacts" menu. Not sure if you need to be above a certain level before unlocking though. They all start off as one of those memory collection pacts (so no monster names or details at first).

i'm 100% digital, baby. love it.

man all this SS talk makes me want to cop it. anyone try toukiden? worth waiting for that instead?

Would pay good money for another Bully/Canis Canem Edit on ANY system. Would sell soul for any big Rockstar franchise to be on Vita.

None of the above, I want NEW GAMES. Not ports of old stuff.

I haven't played them, but i don't like western, so a new bully is my answer, but i would like a new manhunt or a new the warriors(or a beat'em up like the awesome minigame in the warriors).

I hope for a new saints row though.

The Forgotten Pacts are under Avalon Pacts in the main Journal menu and includes the DLC quests.

Get it. Especially if it isn't full price any more. The game is surprisingly deep and rewarding. Im playing again after a slight break and its even fresher than I remember. Im sure the gameplay will hold up compared to other hunting action titles whent they arrive.
