Nice, so a necromancer and uh... a necromancer? :pie_invert:

Great display pieces, especially the AoS one, not so great for an actual game I feel like.

That is some incredible paining.

Iyanden is also clealry the greatest craftworld. The colour scheme, the usage of Wriath units, the lore.........really makes me want to start an Iyanden army.

I agree, the Iyanden colour scheme is amazing. Clean and bold.

Agreed. Also easy to paint compared to most armies, and I want an easy paint job that doesn't require hundreds of hours per mini.

I was thinking about Grey Knights because of the lore, but their minis look like a pain in the ass to paint.

I so wish I could sign up for it.

Here in Canada they block it due to stupid language laws. It sucks.
Lol If wargaming stores in Quebec don't get an exemption from Law 96, I won't even be able to buy anything for the hobby, including paints

Tried a new style as I get ready to do my 1k black Templars. I'm rather happy with how it turned out for a first try.

Far from perfect but I like it

Hooray, GW added the classic Emperors Children minis as an made to order option!

Available to order till Septmeber 8th...

Fuck FOMO!

Lol another price raise from GW. Another reason to buy more kings of war and deadzone minis from Mantic

GW prices are high for what they're selling, but a price rise was always going to happen. Nobody expected them to keep these prices forever.

GW can get away with it as well. The game is now more popular than ever and is growing internationally. It's only going to get more popular when the Amazon TV show comes out and GW/Amazon tweak the lore - D&D style - to make it more inclusive. They tested the waters with female custodes and although there were a few grumbles, it hasn't any negative impact on sales.

At this point GW can up the prices as much as they want. They know the die-hard fans will suck it up, and new players won't know any better.

Exactly, that's why we've all moved away from GW over the past few months. We now have around 20 Kings of War players at my FLGS, and we've also started playing Deadzone. We're transitioning to Firefight, and next is Epic Warpath being released

GW undoubtedly has the best miniatures, lore, and history, but that's about it. It's really eye opening how other game systems feel less bloated and more enjoyable when you try other games

Well, I dropped by my local hobby store today and they were clearing out their Warhammer at 30% off. Bought a Leman Russ tank and a box of rubric marines for display pieces. Bought some paint and primers too.

Gave them to the wife to have the kids give me for my birthday lol.

Yeah, there are more options than GW.

Osprey are about to drop the second edition of Dragon Rampart this month, plus if you fancy it, you have a host of historical options like Bolt Action, Lion Rampart, Never Mind The Billhooks etc.

It's not just the outrageous prices. I really hate that they now release a new edition of 40K every three years. If your army gets a new codex and rules towards the end of the edition then you'll have a year or less to make the most of it before a new edition drops.

A new edition means a new rule book, a new codex and just more costs.

The edition release cycle should be 5 years minimum.

That's because 40k is more than a miniature war game. It is a multimedia franchise with animation, comics, novels (numbering in the hundreds), video games and soon to be live action film/TV.

That will only draw in more players or just general fans who'll buy 40K merchandise.

Yeah, I'm starting a bolt action escalation league next week actually. I'm working on finishing my first 400 points
