So are people now going to pretend that Outlast was a visual masterpiece or something? lol
I thought Outlast looked pretty great...

Far Cry 3 was an excellent game, though, and it still looked good despite failing to match the original concept demo.Ubisoft you fooled me once with FarCry 3, not falling for this kind of bait-and-switch again.
Well, I've been posting here since 1999 so perhaps my perspective is a bit screwed. :XBecome? lol.
She's 100% right about Outlast.

I think it's fine to discuss what Ubi PR is saying and if we disagree with it.
That said, I wish they wouldn't throw her under the bus completely and I hope people don't start blowing up on Twitter.
Yes, it's not the right thing to say, but I don't think we should berate her to the point of being fired like some people here seem ready to do. That kind of shit makes me sick to my stomach, to be honest. It doesn't matter if it was or wasn't, she's official PR for a company, you don't slate another games graphics publicly on a PR account.

That's true, yeah.
The trailer doesn't look anywhere near like the E3 2012 reveal either, though, and I find it very hard to believe Ubisoft would give out b-roll footage of the last-gen version. Hell, except for the Aisha Tyler trailer they haven't shown the last-gen versions yet, not even to journalists. Why include scenes of it in b-roll footage that'll get used by magazines for their video previews?
Is this a newer gif? It looks great.

It really has no bearing on the conversation of the Watch_Dogs downgrade. It has nothing to do with anything. It's a trivial statement that is just going to give her more needless headaches and I'm not sure that's good to do in an already bad environment.
It was already in lockdown mode after the delay :SPublic relations and event manager.
She's doing her job...
I also feel for them. But as said no one forced them to oversell the game way back in 2012. They can so rectify the situation by putting out more media showing why we might be wrong.
Got a feeling it'll be going into lockdown mode soon.

To be fair she is doing absolute PR no-nos. Not Adam Orth level but it's still the kind of stuff you shouldn't say.
Well, I was replying to a conversation thread that started from this:
in which case we would have a universe in which Ubisoft does not release PC ports that are utter shit.
In reality though, I guess you're right in saying that we would probably require better rigs.
Having said that, I've got a GTX 670 from 2 years back and it still runs Assassin's Creed 4 much, much better than either of the next-gen consoles could, and at the same time allowing the game to much better. I don't think the $150 card in question (a 750 Ti) is much worse than a GTX 670, so I'm not sure how badly PC gamers will be hit by Ubisoft's shitty PC ports
Not as graphically impressive as E3 reveal = game having awful graphics?
Is that what the thread is saying?

That's one way of doing it:

Half the problem in this industry is people having to sugar coat their opinions or just plain bullshitting to avoid upsetting someone.
Outlast is a great game that is fugly as well. Simple fact (love the game personally).
I like a bit of real talk in my PR, what she said wasn't even offensive and definitely doesn't warrant any kind of backlash although it's a great excuse for the no gifs so I'm not complaining.
OT I don't think WDs looks all that bad but it's certainly a disappointment.
Well, it's a statement saying gameplay trumps graphics, really. Weird of a Ubi PR person to say, but it is what it is.
Happens all the time. Not a big deal. Anyone who thinks it is inflammatory to say Outlast has crappy visuals is simply looking for a fight. It is a non-issue.
You ask for them to lose the PR speak, and when they do you throw them to the wolves. Time and timeagain.

Putting "real talk" in PR is the reason Adam Orth got fired. You toe the company line as PR or you get shitcanned.
What Orth said and what this person is saying aren't on the same level, mind you, but slamming another person's game on an official company Twitter is not good for business.
I'm getting it on theit was where I first saw it and made me think oh shit. Wii U is a serious player. Other then that, my friend is getting it on PC and we share steam accounts so all is not lose if it turns out not looking like thatWii U

You can look carefully at polycount in faces and clothes and skin and fabric shaders. Please be honest.
Yup. Part of why everyone in this industry is made of plastic is the fact that even consumers are way too sensitive about everything.

They don't want a manufactured controversy on top of an actual controversy.
Consumer blaming. Is that you Kuchera?
