When I was in college I was drowning in lesbians. I don't know what it was but they were everywhere. The earthy hippie lesbian who seemed like a wild girl fresh from being raised by wolves was awesome. I'll talk about her first.

We weren't that close but she was always near me. I felt at ease around her, perhaps because of how subdued we were in nature.

She loved to wear corduroy pants and green tees or occasionally a windbreaker with some odd animal slogan on it. She had locked her hair at one point and then a short pixie cut and then locks again.

At night there was an instant transformation in her if we went to a dance club. She would turn into a dancing maniac and tear up the floor! She loved to rave.

She was super cool too and I never knew her to have been involved in any queer drama.
Go super indie wolf girl lesbian chick.

I know a few more but we'll see where the conversation goes before I bore you more about the awesome lesbians I knew/know.

:lol I wasn't being a pussy, I just wasn't sure if I still wanted to actually discuss my thing or not. Thinking about it seems like silly high school stuff...

Twinks are deeefinitely my weakness. I don't usually like a lot of hair, facial or otherwise, although there are some guys that wear it really, really well and absolutely more power to 'em.

my best mate has a thing for twinky dudes. so not my thing. he always says he's gonna try skew a bit older as he's had nightmare stories of early 20's self involved emo indie kids :lol alwyas ends up going for em again though...

i leave my facial hair pretty scruffy at times, but i tend to hate it on other guys. go figure !

5'7 :P so we both share the shortness !

maybe that explains why i always go for guys about 5'10 and under? :P

Or to sum up all the questions...Bear or Twink? :lol

- Scruffy, but not bearded. One or two days past a five o'clock shadow is nice.

- Swimmer's build. Or that of a nice, toned soccer player. Muscle tone is nice, but bulky overkill is not.

- Love military men. Buzzcut. Especially with southern accents. That's my kryptonite.:D

- A suit is okay, but a beach bum in cargo shorts or swim trunks or soccer shorts is better. Military uniform = schwing!

- Equal partnership.

- Twinks or bears? Neither extreme appeals to me. I won't say more, so as to not offend. :lol

do you live in a small town or something? calgary has the worst scene ever but my boyfriend and i have been trying to check it out as much as possible. it's kinda hard sometimes.

So do you guys look down on bisexuals? Like the guy that said he gets turned on watching two chicks go at it, doesn't that mean he's bisexual?

Who is looking down on bisexuals? Thread is inclusive, contribute.

No. I love in the south.

The. South.

S.O.U.T.H.

If that doesn't tell you anything, then I dunno. :lol

I had just heard a few gay men in the past be vocally against bisexuals, one adding "they should just pick a side." I was wondering how prevalent this kind of thinking was among the people in this thread.

No, I personally don't, although I do kind of resent "lesbians until graduation" and women that make out with other girls just for sensational purposes/to appeal to guys. True lesbians/true bisexual guys are awesome though. Bisexual guys often give really good head too.

for me, i feel that there is a scale to which how hetero and how homo you are. some people are like 90% straight and 10% gay, etc. Someone being bisexual i find is the same as me being gay; it is just how they are. I don't look down on it at all. the whole "pick a side" thing has never been a thought in my head.

though i don't think i would be completely comfortable dating a bisexual. the whole thought of them being able to cheat with EVERYONE lol would go through my head too much.. at least at first haha.

What's the best pro-advocate group to support if you are a feminist-vegetarian/environmentalist-socialist?

A friend of mine wants to know.

This thread is way TOO queer for me. :lol

- A bit of stubble/5 o'clock shadow. Clean works depending. Full beards fail to turn me on.
- Clean? Nothing too bony, I guess. Perfectly round faces work best.
- A bit of hair, or completely clean. Too much hair and it's a turn off.
- Build has to be average or a tiny bit overweight. Skinny people scare me, and muscle builds don't work. Overweight never works. Sorry. :(
- Like 'em without clothes. :lol Okay, maybe my weakness is technically business suits. There's just something about the presentation that really gets me going.
- Equal partnership.

Bear or twink? Middle of the road I guess. Youth isn't everything, nor do want my mate to be shedding all over. Hunks work occasionally, but mainly the face does it. Beautiful, beautiful faces.

This. 100% This. Even I find a few girls hot, just not any worth having sex over. Boobs nor vaginas do it for me.

-I like 'em scruffy or bearded. Love big mutton chops on a guy too-- hot! No ironic mustaches, though, please.
-Hairy chests are awesome.
-I like sort of medium beefy. Totally ripped/ cut up is kind of a turn off for me as is really skinny. Some meat on the bones but not too much is perfect.
-Most contemporary styles are not so appealing to me, but I love a mod dude, have a weakness for chunky glasses and sort of librarian chic, especially if they're a little gruff and working that shit.
-I like to have a pretty equal partnership that allows for a lot of back and forth inside of it.

Hmm, this thread is making me want to trade in my very slutty ways and actually get a boyfriend. It's been too long...

Hey . . . I've got a question . . .

Why are there like twice as may gay guys as there are lesbians? I'm guessing maybe there are maybe just a bunch of women that are asexual?

Rewrite and Salva, it's cool that both of you are gay, brah. My uncle's gay and he came out of the closet, but no one cared or was even remotely shocked. We knew he was gay cuz of them fruity hips and his lisp voice. No need to hide it anymore guys. ;)

Also, where's Nick? I haven't seen him since a while. Ban bet or what? Explain GAF!

Heh, I think I'd be in a similar position. Not only would I have to compete with every gay male, but I'd also have to compete with breasts?

in my head it would make sense that there are "more gay guys than lesbians" because it could be easier for a gay woman to live the life of a straight woman since they don't need to get an erection, am i correct in this? forgive me if i am ignorant. my point is i believe there are the same amount of homosexual men as homosexual women, but there are more "out" homosexual men probably because of this fact.

Glad I've haven't been the only one thinking that. Even though you put it about 20x more harshly and out of the blue then I would have :lol

I think it just has to do with men being allot more assertive then women with this kind of stuff. So you notice more guys then girls or all. More of a perception thing.

Let's face it, men are just hotter, so men love is simply more represented:D

But seriously, now that that we have this thread, can we finally have a "post a hot shirtless pic of yourself" thread in the same time ??

Apparently there are a lot of
insecure
lesbians that feel this way as well.

...speaking of Kevin Smith, he really didn't help quell any "but what if she finds me lacking in some fundamental way and dumps me for a guy" anxiety by creating Chasing Amy.

Oh, and GAF-dyke checking in to say hey.

I'm gay and a complete anti-bi kinda guy. You're either gay or you're straight, simple as that. I refuse to believe someone could be equally happy (and I'm talking 50/50, not 51/49) with both genders.

Dude, did you just fill out the survey for me? I agree on every single point! Especially the buzzcut and Southern accent.

I'd date a bisexual, but it depends.

In my own experience, most bi men I've met either:
(a) slept around with men behind their wife/gf's back, or
(b) ended-up going totally gay.
(That's just in my own experience. Don't get mad at me for reporting what I've seen.)

Very seldom do I hear about a bi guy with a boyfriend/husband cheating with a woman, unless he had closet issues. And 90% of the straight women I've known won't go anywhere near a bi guy.

Different for bisexual women, however. I roomed with lesbians through college, and they wouldn't go anywhere near bi women (at least, not for anything long-term), out of fear that the bi woman would end-up going straight. Almost all of them had been burned at some point in their lives. For their sanity's sake, I wish that "LOOK-AT-ME-I'M-KISSING-A-GIRL!" female bisexuality had never caught-on.

Politically correct or not, I do have an over-arching theory - call it HylianTom's Theory of Bisexuality: If you have a proclivity for dick, that's where you're going to end-up.

_Clean shave or little beard, everything is fine. Early beard can be really sexy but it can be pain in the ass when kissing too much !

_Cute, nice face. Not too skinny or bony, with eyes that says "i'm a nice guy !". Masculinity can be a good bonus !

_Not too skinny either, not to muscular. Smooth shape with good curves ! A little belly with well defined pecs are a must :D

_Normal style, not too fashion. The more straight he looks, the more i like. I'm really into white shirts, jeans, sweats..

_Equal partership

As bi guy, there can be a lot of discrimination by gays against bi's, but it can be awesome too. Since I am naturally very straight seeming it's amazing how many guys I can get since they think they are turning a straight guy. :lol

But mainly it's insecure lesbians bitching out bi chicks, and jealous gay dudes calling you an attention whore, or saying you're in denial.

There is a common misconception that bisexuals are incapable of monogamy or faithfulness, which is utter bullshit. Just because someone can be attracted to either sex does not automatically mean the need to be fucking both to be fulfilled. Some do, some are lying sluts, but the same is true of hetero and homosexual people, too. I've known bi men who only dated women but slept with men, and known ones who only dated men but slept with girls. There are many ways to identify as Bi, and to see people that have fought against stereotyping perpetuate it amongst others is very frustrating. I'm not saying anyone in this thread is doing that, by the way.

/rant!

Fake edit: I've not noticed much bi discrimination on gaf, outside of one thread from a few years ago.

Bi now, gay later.

I guess I'm just bitter that the love of my life (or so I thought) left me for a girl.

This is why I love GAF.

I stumbled into a Gay discussion thread and learned something new......

...Kevin Smith exec produced a documentary called Small Town Gay Bar?

Interesting.

Yep. I didn't know he did this either. Getting this DVD is my homework today. I miss small town life..

So when is "queer" an insult? And why do my gay friends call people fags because they're "too gay"?

+ Either way, as long as I like his face. I started liking my current crush when he had some messy beard and today, he shaved it and he looks even hotter. So I guess I like it both ways?
+ I like guys with masculine-looking or hot face. The straighter-looking, the better.
+ Some definition on the chest is nice.
+ Type of body: ranging from swimmer's build to muscular. But I'm not too fussy if I like the guy's face.
+ I don't care much about the clothes as long as the guy doesn't look flaming (ie. no pink or some ridiculous colors/style) or slutty (ie. ripped shirt - tacky). I've been attracted to guys who dress up neatly and guys who dress up like a slacker. I tend to alternate between those two style as well depending on whether I have a meeting with a client or if I can be in slacker designer mode.
+ Equal partnership

Bear and twinks are not really my fave but I've been attracted to guys with some type of body hair (just not so much that it covers their entire body including the back).
