food. my freezer was literally empty. well, nothing worth eating. all that was inside it was a packet of frozen chillis and icecream/ice lollies. i hate freezing chillis as i prefer them to dry out for a stronger taste and it's too fucking cold for icecream/lollies.

food i bought:

2 bags of baby potatoes (fucking love boiled potatoes with a fuck load of butter)
bag of chips.
waffles
hash browns
croquettes
vegeterian chicken nuggets
vegeterian fish fingers
vegeterian fish fillet
vegetable fingers
vegeterian chicken dippers
smileys :D
potato stars :D

can you guess what my favourite kind of food is? potato. and yes i still buy food aimed at kids. these are lovely:

i was thinking also about buying Nier Automata for Switch but I don't know. I have it on PC so could play it there but I need to mod it to get it working. On one hand I can't be arsed setting it up so it makes sense to get it on Switch but then i'm buying a game i already own. That said, I definitely ain't cancelling my Persona 5 Royal preorder lol. 2 weeks to go!

not bought anything else. might get a take out tonight though.

I returned the lite as it's shit. Got the OLED. This one is how they should have released it day 1.
lol how did you go from "i don't care if it's shit" to "i returned the lite as it's shit" ? what was it that made you think nah this really is shit i can't deal with it?

i agree, the OLED Switch is what the original model should've been. the 2019 revision isn't bad and as much as i love OLED the screen on the 2017/2019 model didn't bother me it was just those huge bezels. the OLED feels more solid and has a much better kickstand. the speakers are meant to be better too but i don't notice any difference.

Bought Mx mechanical mini couple of months ago. It's my third time I have tried to like mechanical keyboards. But I have to sell it, since I just don't get accustomed to it and make tons of typos and my WPM is slightly slower.

Took me quite a while to get used to typing on my mechanical keyboard when I first got it. If it's your third time then maybe it's just not for you but you would need to give it some time to adjust especially if you're coming from a very flat/membrane keyboard as you need to get used to the key travel and different pressure. also i have a "60%" keyboard so it looks something like this:

iu

and you need to also learn shortcuts. it's not too difficult it's basically just FN + whatever key. I've had this keyboard for almost a year and i still can't get used to using the arrow keys. the arrow key function is on the H, J, U, and K keys. it's simple that all i need to do is FN + H but it feels so awkward to do.

i can't remember what WPM i was getting on my membrane keyboard but with this i got 103wpm.

Yesterday I picked up the new Sonos Sub Mini to pair with my Beam gen2, and one SL’s in my little bedroom setup. Absolutely fantastic so far. All of the sound now feels more alive or something. It’s hard to explain. I’d been wanting the regular Sonos sub for a while but felt that would be way too much for a bedroom system I’m typically watching at night and I have neighbors and I didn’t want to spend almost $800 on it either. This was the perfect compromise for me.

a pack of 10 radiator air valves.

so interesting and exciting, i know. haven't used my radiators for months but now the cold weather is here the heating is back on. was trying to bleed the air out them but the valve is stripped on a couple radiators. i've been using a flathead screwdriver cause i don't have a key tool to turn it. i could just buy a key but might as well just replace all the valves.

edit: really shouldn't have bought the replacement valves. i ended up buying a bleed key so i'm all good now. i'll not return the valves. whenever i'm bored i can replace them.

also just bought this:

i went into my local Halfords but they wanted £530 for it lol. i checked on eBay and there was an ex display model for £325 but i wasn't sure about it. i tried asking the seller questions about it but they weren't answering me. bought it from Scan for £419. seems like that's the best price i'm gonna get for a new model. i tried to get Halfords to price match it instore with Scan but they refused to. so i just bought it from Scan and it'll be here tomorrow :D

it's illegal to ride them on a road/pavement but there are so many people zooming about on them. i'm only really going to use it to get to work and back. someone i work with has one so that's what convinced me to buy one. i had a try of it around the empty car park and it was fun lol. i do have a bicycle but it's taking up too much room in my garden and i can't be bothered with it. so i'll give that to my little cousin.

At the very least you've informed me that it is an option. I appreciate that guv.
I replaced alot of old hand tools/power tools that had either given up the ghost or had seen better days. You can't go wrong with Milwaukee Packout tool storage. They cost more than the competition, but they're worth every penny and built to last unlike other brands imo.

The Bosch tool storage boxes are great to protect tools from the elements, but the quality of the plastic wouldn't take much to crack/break if hit against a solid surface undoubtedly.

I'm going to revisit the Black Adam portions prior to the release of the movie. I was going to get the eBook, but thought, why not get something I can hold and keep in my office. It was also 55% off from Amazon reseller so why not?

Books, books, exclusively non fiction, and exclusively paperback - I found I read much more than Kindle, can sit down at 10pm with dimmed lights (installed dimmers last year everywhere in the apartment) and relax for 30 minutes.

A few things recently...

Purchased an Iphone 14 pro max and am waiting for it to arrive. Should be in the next 2 weeks.

I purchased Fright Night on 4k Blu Ray. Perfect picture quality with a wealth of special features. Prime example of why physical media shits all over digital releases...
I also purchased the 1st 3 Child's Play films on 4k Blu Ray with a tonne of special features.

I also purchased the new book by ex scientologist Mike Rinder called A Billion Years: My Escape From A Life In The Highest Ranks Of Scientology. Great read so far.

So many people buying new cars.

I have way more money than I should have sitting in my checking account as I look around at possible new vehicles preparing to trade in my old car and get something new. I want a hybrid or pure EV, but every option these days seems to have glaring issues (shitty expensive batteries prone to failure, archaic console systems, weird customer-unfriendly warranties, etc), while inflation and supply chain issues - along with good old fashioned price gouging by corps - has me wavering over and over again.

I did pick up the nice steelbook 4k edition of Army of Darkness just a few days ago. It's one of my favorite movies ever that I somehow didn't own a physical copy of except for an old DVD.
I also just bought a headboard for my bed. It's one of those things that helps me feel like a proper grown-up not having my bed against a wall.

Ordered Nike running sneakers for myself. Went to store to buy running shoes but didnt find the colors I wanted. Checked the WEB and lo and behold you can choose the colors on Nikes page and its still cheaper to get em home delivered. :messenger_smiling_hearts: Now there is some wizard in a land far far away armed with a string and a needle working away my shoes.

Recent purchases are Steam Deck, books and toys for my daughter and 3 x 4090 cards out of which:
  • 1 was delivered and is installed in my system
  • 1 was cancelled after the other one was delivered
  • 1 was lost by delivery company and now they need to do an "investigation" :messenger_neutral:

I did not buy them for they were free from my brother. Scored a couple of man cave couch upgrades for 2-seater and 3-seater replacements. Soon to be taken over by my now teenage son and his mates as the cave is fitted out more.

Most recent purchase was a 2023 Mazda CX-50 Turbo. Its a practical smaller SUV that can haul my family of 4, but not as boring as the rest of its competition.

Traded my Sierra in on the CX-50. The truck was great when I had to do truck shit, but it didn't fit in the garage and I hated filling it up. Thing had a terrible turning radius and parking just sucked. Also sold my GTO last year. I loved it, but it never left the garage and someone payed me well for it. 510RWHP is fun on the rare occasion it isn't raining, snowing, I have no kids, or need to pick anything up. I probably put 200 - 500 miles on it a year the last 3 years I owned it and most of that was suburbs into the city so nothing fun where I ever used more than 10% throttle.
