Yes! It's the tightest damn SUV on the planet. It sits lower than most SUVs, it'll outhandle any SUV you put it up against, and it'll take down some of the fastest production sedans out there (0-60 in about 5.6 seconds, IIRC). The car's a monster.

OH SHIT!

This is the first I've heard of this car. Well played...

It's ok, the differences are so ... small between the two, not too many can see them on first view.

The design... is more streamlined. I like it. It's like a refined DB9 and that's what kept me from truly loving the car(db9) compared to the db8.

How's it compare to a Touareg (price in mind)?

Man, you guys have some great taste. That DB8 is very intriguing...any more info on it?

There's no way I could choose just one, here some of the ones that I dream about (in no particular order):

The 911 Turbo - with whaletale - is my all time favourite supercar. Hell any 911 is probably my #1

But the last few years, my decades long lust for all things Porsche has slackened a bit simpy because of one insanely sexy car.

The original was amazing, but the new version just hits me like a kick to the stomach. I suggest everyone check out the intro movie to GT4 if you're still not convinced.

I used to post that car for years on end on this forum, when it came to these threads...and at the time there were only 2 pics of it on the entire internet!

This one seems new...do they plan to actually release it?

I've never touched a Touareg, but I know that Consumer Reports said it was the worst SUV entry for the 2004 model year lineup.

I was thinking the same thing. Having your own skycar would kick all kinds of ass.

But if I had to stay on the ground, this is a sweet car that no one has posted yet.

Usually not the biggest Mercedes fan, but I really love the new shape of the SL (the S class is pretty sexy too).

Infiniti FXes are cheaper than their Toureg counterparts.

But KEEP IN MIND that the Infiniti is all about street performance. It is basically a hotrod in a SUV shell. If you want a fast SUV, the Infiniti will probably be your best bet for the money. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo is faster but it costs like $30k+ more.

The Toureg is a heavy and slow SUV among its class, unless you get the highest engine config which ups the price to like 60+K. But even then, it's not particularly speedy. But it does have a more refined cabin than Infiniti. Only Lexus has got the luxury part right among the Japanese brands. Infiniti and Acura have mixed results. And it does have considerably good off-road capability, which is why some people buy SUVs in the first place.

Depends on what you want.

Actually, I think I saw Edmunds say that the FX45 is as fast as the Cayenne S.

Here are the comparative specs:
InfinityFX43
$ 45,450
315-hp 4.5-liter V 8 engine with 329 lb-ft of torque

Porshe Cayenne
$ 56,300
340-hp 4.5-liter V 8 engine with 310 lb-ft of torque

I'm sure weight would be a factor, but i couldn't find the specs.

FX45 is 4309 lbs and does 0-60 in 6.8 seconds

Cayenne S ($56,000) is around 5200 lbs and does 0-60 in 6.8 seconds.

Cayenne Turbo ($90,000) does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

That's completely wrong. The FX45 does 0-60 in under 6 seconds. Don't ever take Edmunds' word for face value. They have wrongly tested dozens and dozens and DOZENS of cars. They're usually off by about a second.

This is an advert. that Infiniti briefly ran for the FX45. http://www.strategymag.com/aoy/2004/tbwa/03/golf.pdf

Nissan is notorious for underrating their performance specs. A number of car mags have dipped below the 6.3, and I know that after break-in period, owners have actually dragged the car and have cracked into the 5 second mark. The Porsche's numbers are very likely correct, since it weighs nearly a thousand pounds more and has less TQ.

What happen to the McLaren F1 series? Did they only make somwhere around 100 cars? Why did they stop?

Because it was intended from the outset to be a super-limited-production car, that's why. They made about 100 road cars and maybe 5 examples meant for racing.
