After the announcement of the Second Season Pass with the Rogue Trader I got contradictory emotions. It's all over Wrath of the Righteous again. One side of me got really frustrated because the game released on 7th December of 2023 and the last story DLC will come on Fall 2026. I thought this is too much time to play a "completed" game. But one side of me knows that Owlcat Games needs to earn money somehow and they need this. Also majority of players who play Owlcat Games want this road as well. They say and I quote "These cRPGs need to be played more than one time."
My thoughts are like this: I know that we cannot escape DLCs. But for someone like me, to play a game with "everything completed", story DLCs are kinda bummer. Yes I can put that game to the backlog until it gets all the DLCs and patches and until that time play another game. I do that, there is nothing else I can do about it. But sometimes I really wanna play that game. For example I really wanted to play Rogue Trader after the second DLC comes out (because I thought it will be the last) but Owlcat announced 2 more story DLCs and said that the last one will be released 1,5 years later. I cannot play right now because I want "completed" experience and to be frank, I cannot play these long games after and after within 1,5-2 years.
I really want to hear your thoughts about this (there is no aim or purpose here, just curious about your thoughts):

- What do you think about story DLCs? Do you think they are necessary?
- If so, how many years gap is acceptable from the release date of that game (For example, the game can recieve story DLCs for 3 or 4 years after it's release)?
- Or do you think story DLCs are unnecassary?
