What we know about Legend of Zelda Wii prior to E3 2010

Which thread got him banned?
The prospect of having him around at E3.

Just imagine him in the next Zelda thread! No matter what his crazy Zelda ideas will never come true. I don't want to know how hard he would derail that thread with his personal meltdown.

Uhm, actually. That would be kinda funny to see, though.

But selig was a Junior, does that mean.... D:
Actually, Selig already got banned once while he still was a "real" junior. He got unbanned, though. That ban was the reason why he got perma-juniored, I believe.

I'm not sure.
Do Members that got juniorized get permabaned as well?
I'm guessing you are.. that's why being juniorized is a warning to stop being stupid.
Hope he comes back though... I never managed to post with huelen10 :(

With a history that fucked up it's no wonder he turned out like this. :lol

I still don't get the ban... was he offending someone, making flame threads or something similar?
By looking at his last post it doesn't make much sense at all...

What a fitting death.

Right before E3, that's really gotta sting. That's like... your parents converting your family to Judaism just before Christmas. :lol.

Maybe we should petition a lock on this thread, considering there's only a few days left until the official Zelda announcement. Partially in memory of Selig, and partially so his insanity has no chance of spreading beyond the confines of this thread and infecting other discussions :lol.

I don't know if it would have been better if he got banned before or around the time of E3. Would he have gotten worse during E3 or calmed down because of it?

And being banned during E3 is the worst. :lol

Apart from not being able to post, all he has to do is delete his cookies and he's good to go...

there's something about Zelda threads that make me type walls of text, then refresh the page to see where the discussion has gone, then realise that actually posting that wall of text would be one step too far down the rabbit hole, then deleting said wall of text.

I've just conceded myself to the fact that my contributions to these threads will always be snarky one-liners or 'omg yay zelda'. Anything else just feels dirty. I blame the split-timeline theory.

I'm thinking it's this, honestly. His last post was kind of trolling in an E3 thread, which probably made the Mods envision his behavior during the busy week ahead and decide to just solve the problem before it boils over (which we kind of all knew was coming, let's not pretend we didn't).

Maybe it's a temp ban during E3, just to keep things less insane than usual?

Right, but for a lot of people, not being able to be a part of the conversation can be a pretty big deal. While I was waiting for my approval, I pretty much stopped reading because I was seeing too much stuff I wanted to comment on. It's frustrating.

I'm a bit concerned about the graphics of this game... From comments that were made that the concept art is indicative of the direction, it would appear they're going with realistic graphics, which is simply not the Wii's forte.

TP is already aging poorly... I'm hoping that milking the Wii's full power, combined with good art direction, will make for a more timeless look in this latest outing. But I'm not very optimistic.

The big area that REALLY needs to be addressed is the music. It must be orchestrated -- no more shrill, ear-splitting midi. With all the extra disc space of a game made just for Wii, this should be more than feasible.

Ya basically. It's not like GAF is the only source of news but GAF is the only place where you can talk with other gaffers.

Exactly. There's a big difference between watching an announcement, shouting in a high-pitched voice "OMG OMG OMG!" and dancing around flailing your hands... and being able to post the textual equivalent of all that and have other people dance around with their hands flailing along with you. :lol

In other words, Selig now has nobody to high five on Zelda Day. And that's kind sad, when you think about it. =(

Yeah I find it best to just lurk and not contribute cause Ill just end up writing a bunch of super long and detailed posts and getting sucked in and eventually yelling at people wanting cyberpunk or futuristic Zeldas. Though in general I prefer the post only on occasion route despite being on the forums allllll the time.

Im just excited as all hell to see whats in store for the next console Zelda, regardless of how it turns out. At this point I just want to see what it is, I can bitch and moan about what I am want them to do with it afterwards.

Nintendo'll figure it out.

I heard a rumor that the title was leaked:

The Legend of Zelda: The Helen's Lamb

Can anyone confirm?
I can confirm that it isn't. And by confirm I mean "deduce via common sense". I am prepared for crow.

The thing with GAF is: You can only post 5 times every other month, and you still feel like you are in. With total strangers from everywhere over the world you never even had a 2-post-argument with, but that feel like the old friend equivalent of the internet.

Didn't notice something like this on any other board, international or not. Gaf > Internet.

google says the only result for this title is on fanfiction.net so i'm pretty sure you're just being an instigator.

please don't do this, people posting blog rumours are bad enough, we don't need people creating rumours directly in ehre

The Legend of Zelda: Sword of Legends
The Legend of Zelda: Wii Would Like to Play
The Legend of Zelda: Heavens of Hyrule
The Legend of Zelda: This Changes Everything

That scared the fuck out of me when I refreshed the page and this scary old lady was staring at me. Good edit making it a link and not a picture anymore.

And yes thats the worst game title ever.

Haha! Sorry, I didn't think the picture would be that big.

Can't believe we are finally going to see the new console Zelda, 4 years later, for the 1st time, in 3 days.

OMG HOLD ME.

Actually, they could remember the NES times and name it "Link: The Legend of Zelda". That would be pretty cool, if you ask me.

I'm pretty psyched for this year's E3, and I really want to enjoy it... before the next one comes along and we start seeing the next generation of consoles getting shown, since that seems to be right on schedule. Do not want either.

I really think the life of the current gen of consoles is going to be longer than previous ones. I don't feel we are going to see unveilings for next gen until 2012, at the least.

Selig.... gone???

I realize he is Nintendo fanboy all the way and can be an idiot sometimes... but banning him RIGHT before E3? Wow, even I would be really pissed about that if it happened to me. Selig must be in pretty bad shape right now. Dude treated NeoGAF as if it was his LIFE.

Selig, keep on breathing man. One breath at a time.
