[Duck of Death]

On an old episode of X-Play they were talking about S.T.A.L.K.E.R, and they mentioned that the game drew inspiration from some science fiction novel called "The Zone" (?)

Does anyone know the author and correct title of this book? Is it worth reading?

You mean Roadside Picnic I assume. They then made a movie based on the book called stalker wich is a very weird movie indeed.

Is that it? On X-Play they said the book was called "The Zone" or something like that and it was written by someone with what sounded like an Eastern European name.

Tarkovsky's Stalker is a great movie, but it's about the least likely film I'd expect to ever get converted into a FPS game!
