The problem with the "Xbox PC" is that it can only do one useful thing that my PC can't, but my Series S already does it. PC already has native versions of most notable Xbox titles. For BC games on my account and all the little gaps, there's Series S. A super expensive console that pastes my PC and Series S together isn't doing it for me. Not only is it redundancy, but it will probably be a "not really PC-PC" like Steam Deck with caveats, but we talk it up like it's just as good for warring purposes.

Sad to say but no, I'm done with Xbox consoles. Recently again they disappointed me : refused to reset the password of my 8yo daughter because "we don't have enough informations on her", as I refused to give more informations that her birthday, well no sorry bitches I won't give you more informations about AN 8 YEARS OLD CHILD.

I'm done with them. And for the games from them I wanna play it'll be on PS consoles, used in box or digital with huges sales.

truly baffling move

"No one is buying, what do we do?"

"ahh yes, we RAISE the price to GUARANTEE no sales!"
It really is the reverse of a normal cycle. In the series generation, the closeout prices of series s for $150 and series x for $350 happened early in the generation to prop up collapsing sales, and now they've increased the prices beyond ps5 as series sales drop to almost nothing, while the competition is just getting warmed up.

To be honest don't think I'd bother with a ps6, never turned my ps5 on this yr, mind u not turned my Xbox on since oct 2022, ill stick with pc and switch and shortly switch 2 and my retro consoles

Xbox PC is the only 'path' that make sense to me anymore

Nintendo and Sony have lost me 100%

I sold my xbone as soon as they went day1 on PC and now I have gamepass. If the NextBox was open like a windows PC, I might buy one as a secondary gaming unit but that isn't likely seeing that I'll have switch and PS(until they do day1 or even 6 months on PC)

What if Sony craps the bed on PS6 in terms of price or it being low-powered, etc., and the next Xbox offers an insane leap? That might be the only scenario that entices me. Barring that, I'm probably done.

A console is 600 dollars, while an iphone is 2000 dollars. If you can change your iphone every 3 years, you can buy a console (if you are interested) every 7 years.
People acting like you need to sell a kidney to buy.
I don't know where you shop, but you're getting ripped off.

There was no option for , it depends, on the hardware. If it's a handheld I'm out, if it's a true next gen console I can hook up to to 77"LG GX with HDMI 2.1, then yes.

I'm very pleased with my Series S this generation( as my second console hooked on 1080P monitor in my gaming room)
If they offer something similar next generation I will take it !

Nope, as I can't see the next Mass Effect being an Xbox exclusive as it was with the first 2 parts initially...the likes of Gears of War, Halo, Forza are all multiplatform bound...same applies if by some miracle there was a Metal Gear Solid 6, it wouldn't be a Sony exclusive like part 4 was...(which was the sole reason I ended up buying a PS3 at the time

Now that's diminishing returns on your wallet.

Me enjoying gaming on both multiplat machines.

I won't be buying an Xbox until its community stop pretending everything is fine and Xbox is doing better than ever.

I cannot imagine Nintendo fans being like that during the Wii U era.

Very likely. This is the best Xbox generation. Next one is going to top it with Steam, Sony games, improved controller, BC carrying over to PC. MS games are peaking right now.

Possibly.

I think I'd be keen on the handheld if it delivers good performance, good windows experience and most importantly, plays everything an Xbox can play (i.e. original Xbox, 360 back compat games).

At this point though, I'm probably better off upgrading my 3070ti to a 5070/5080 at some point next year, continuing to extend my Xbox game pass ultimate sub with discounts and having the best of both worlds.

At the current rate of gaming, I'm not gonna buy any of the next-gen consoles, whatever they may be, not at launch at least.

If it's all just the same slop but at 1800p upscaled instead of 1440p upscaled, then who cares.

MS, Sony and Ninty really need to sell me on these next consoles because my PS5/Series X really feel pointless considering we are reaching the end game now and neither console ever really delivered anything genre defining or exceptional.

Why wouldn't we all just upgrade our PCs (which even so, I'm not sure if I'm going to either with the current state of PC ports and games releasing broken as fuck on the platform most of the time)

I put yes, because the it depends option is very towards the negative part, but the yes is only if its an xbox. Like it can play the series/one library and bc games.
If its just a handheld PC I'd rather wait for Steam deck 2.

The way things are going I probably won't be getting a PS6 either, not even mentioning Xbox Next. Very few Sony exclusives actually interest me now days and most will come to PC anyways.

And there is nothing Xbox Next will offer at all as an exclusive. I already have BC through XSX (and PS5 for PS platform).

Depends on what they cook up honestly.

I am not auto-ruling them out because Microsoft does have the resources to deliver a valuable piece of kit imo.

I buy all the consoles. I have no issues with the series X, great box. I think the PS5 is good too, but I barely use it. I prefer my xbox controller.

I complain about this all the time, but the next Xbox console needs to embrace state-of-industry features like WiFi 6e, non-proprietary PCIe SSD storage expansion, UAC2, Bluetooth, USB 3.2 Gen 2, etc. This was wishlist stuff for PCs ten years ago, but it's the standard now even for consoles. The launch PS5 had all of it except WiFi 6e, which the Pro has.

Stop excluding standard compatibility features for the sake of trying to lock down the console or cutting costs.

I'd like multigig Ethernet too, but the component cost may not be there quite yet. Same for PCIe 5.0. The WiFi 7 standard isn't finalized quite yet, so I'll let that go as well.

Probably won't buy either. Almost not at all for Xbox and a delayed purchase for PlayStation.

I don't like the games and I don't like the practices they keep pushing.

But that's my stance today. Once it's a reality, if there's plenty of good, sure, I'll rethink, of course. Free play online has got to be a must though!

If they have a handheld with complete backwards compatibility…I'm leaning to a yes. I've hardly time to game and my ps5 has plenty of games to feed on.

A lot of people in this thread are going to change their tune after 2026 (the Year of Xbox).
It's always the same thing, Xbox was harmed because of these lies from Microsoft just to deceive consumers with promises.
People realized that MS uses this tactic, so they started to ignore their products.
