Xbox next gen:

I still don't think there will be another Xbox and I'll die on this hill. And if I'm wrong (probably), I don't plan on buying one.

My question is how come Microsoft was unable to do what Nintendo did. When the GameCube failed Nintendo came back that next generation with the Wii and knocked the ball out of the park by winning the generation. Nintendo did it again when the WiiU failed, they came back and blew the ball out of the stratosphere with the Switch. How come Microsoft is unable to do this. Why can't they come back a following generation later and knock the ball out of the park by winning the generation. What Microsoft needs to do is innovate with their next console. They can't just focus on power. They gotta do something completely different. They're gonna have to come up with the gameplay interface that is so revolutionary that Nintendo will be blushing when they look at it. That's my major issue with Microsoft right now and no, I would never buy a Microsoft console so whatever they come up with I'm not going to buy it, but I am just wondering how come they were unable to do what Nintendo did.

Had to leave my flat for a while so had get one for rehab. The amount of stuff I've accumulated over last year is insane but yeah rehab is getting there with me slowly this just lot longer journey than envisioned. There is sadly drug problem on This unit was smoking odd spliff and line coke now again but managed to piss clean for last three months.evilore you told me get sorted so I'm doing !

Series S and Gamepass served my family well. I don't even think my son knows it's a total failure. He's able to play NCAA with all his buddies from school. Shit, I bet they don't even know it's a failure. Sad times man. Someone has to get the message out to these kids. They're just talking shit and laughing all night on their headsets, completely oblivious to the fact it's a dud of a system.

I've been day one on the last handful of Xboxes but right now I have no compelling reasons to want a next gen console (Switch 2 excluded). Series X runs great. Plenty of games left to play on there, no major hardware issues that need fixing and I'm not terribly interested in better graphics because at this point it's rapidly diminishing returns. There'd have to be some kind of new gimmick like the side loading or AI stuff that's rumored to make me want it day one. Otherwise it's a "maybe someday" upgrade. If it's anything like this gen I'll still be able to play all the new stuff on my old box anyway for at least the first few years.

Next xbox will be hybrid with Steam so by consequence a playstation. If I would buy a console no brain to buy the next xbox/steam machine.

I don't think so. I am a one-console kinda guy, and PS seems like the wiser bet. I also have a TV with the Xbox app, so even if I wanted to sub to GP, I don't need an Xbox to do it.

I was briefly interested in the possibility of a Steam-integrated Xbox, but I've lost interest in that. If I want Steam (and I'm not sure I do), it will be better to just go directly to Steam for that, rather than through Microsoft.

They'd have to completely reverse their current strategy for me to care. Otherwise I'll just get anything I might be interested in on Ps6.

I think that all I've used the Series X for is to play One X games with better frame rates and resolutions. And that's only for a select few games that were better on there than on other platforms (like Nier: Automata, for example, with its myriad issues on PC). There's enough of those edge cases for me to justify having a Series X, because I'm a little crazy, but... yeah, I don't think I've had interest in anything actually built for Series X. I think this is probably the last hurrah for me on Xbox.

I buy any system as long as it has games I care about but based on this gen I dont think Xbox is going to be for me.

Nah, if anything this gen has only cemented that both Sony and Microsoft have only garbage to offer, especially for the money they're charging.

I'm happy with my XSX and I also use it for backwards compatibility, but NOPE. I have no interest in handheld consoles, Steam hybrids or cloud devices. And by the time PS6 launches we're going to have day1 releases of MS games.

What could change my mind is if the Xbox BC catalogue somehow expanded and the new hardware was required to run it (without the cloud).

I've got a massive digital library with Xbox, their first party games work for me which means Gamepass is excellent, and I think the series X is a good piece of hardware.

Zero reason for me to switch.

I will for the simple fact of backwards compatibility and play anywhere. I like being able to continue my games on different devices. It's an underrated feature. I also prefer the controller.

A console is 600 dollars, while an iphone is 2000 dollars. If you can change your iphone every 3 years, you can buy a console (if you are interested) every 7 years.
People acting like you need to sell a kidney to buy.

I'll buy neither of them unless the PC port strategy changes.

My PC is my Xbox, and also my PS.

Switch 2 is preordered though. PC+Switch 2 should give me access to everything.

If this is true, I'm in.

If not, I'm out.

I only owned an original Xbox and then (mostly) skipped two generations for a Series X to catch up on their fun first party history. I have no nostalgia or strong feelings for the Xbox brand like others here.

The first Xbox was what got me in console gaming (was into c64/amiga/pc before). 360 was great but after 2 RROD I had enough. I skipped the one generation because of M$.. I thought they were changed, they convinced me and I bought a series X and honestly hated it. Sold it. M$ never again.

Nah, I know about this leak, but I need a hard confirmation rather than promo images of a conceptual UI.

I need to see it in action.

Probably not.
I was a disgusting green rat, till the release of the Xbox One and only brought later a Xbox One S.
Till now not even a XSS or XSX, for the handful of exclusive games.
The game pass is still a "stealer", but not worth enough to buy a 500-600 $ hardware, when i own a PS5 including PS Plus and when i get many of the Xbox games for the console.
I'm not even sure to buy a PS6, when everything comes to PC as well.

Absolutely and definitely not.

I see no point when Xbox games will run on PC and PlayStation. I do not subscribe to GamePass; I cancelled my Ultimate subscription in May 2024 and no longer use my Xbox Series X (really need to sell this...).

I mean, until it's revealed I could never know. Will it have Steam, will MS eat some of the cost and make it super powerful for a bargain price, etc. It all depends.

If it's technically superior compared to the PS6, then maybe. Sony's first party games are woke and full of DEI. Also I'm only interested in singleplayer story-driven games, and as long as Cuckmann is around at ND, no reason to even bother about anything Sony-related.

I mean, what reason is there to buy an Xbox console ever again?
Without exclusives, it's just a second rate Playstation with less games.

I always liked Xbox as a platform, so its a "it depends, but possibly yes". Playstation just lost me, every hardware from ps4pro on was just lackluster in buildquality, their controllers are overhyped and the ps5 doesnt even allow brands like 8bitdo.

Steam/PC is my ultimate platform of choice though, but Xbox has quality where it matters most to me and is a comfy option

We have here 20% people interested in buying a new Xbox even after everything that happened to the brand :messenger_confused:
Was you praying for less?

Sony fucked it's customers more lately, yet sheep will sheep.

I like game pass and the controller, my friends play on Xbox.

So I will buy the next Xbox. Why is that hard to grasp?

MS haven't robbed me or fucked my wife. They offered me a good value proposition. What PS exclusives have I missed out on? (I wouldn't play AstroBot for example). I like shooters. BF and COD.
