Sometimes I disagree with mods, but in this case I think they were right.Here ya go. Enjoy the mod comment too where they stroke off to penalizing people that have a differing opinion on their game whilst reading a thread about someone not giving the game a 10/10.
This game is a top tier reviewed hack & slash, and seems pretty similar to the previous one in the series, which was a highly top tier reviewed hack & slash that sold over 20M copies. If the gameplay of this game is as deep as the previous one (seems they double down on it and expanded options) doesn't make sense at all to call it interactive movie because if we call this game interactive movie then we should call interactive movies almost every game on earth because this genre is pretty much the opposite since it focus on frequent complex and precise gameplay inputs.
Also, particularly the 'interactive movie' is not only particularly wrong for this game/genre, but also as I remember it's one of the typical console war stuff examples that is mentioned in the forum rules as something to avoid.

If that gameplay video is anything to go by, the sequel is gonna be even more cinematic and stricted than the first one, of course i could be wrong (i hope so)
But yeah, my statement is valid for the first one aswell, gow is WAY more game-y than hellblade 1.

Well, let's HOPE they listened to the feedback from the first one. It needed deeper/more gameplay. But I also understand what their focus is with this game and these medical conditions.
The amount of game play in God of War is indeed galaxies more than in Hellblade 1. Not to mention, HB1 was also VERY short.

I mean to play devils advocate here, a lot of people could consider most single player, narrative driven, heavy on the cutscenes games as “interactive movies” - some are obviously more so than others (heavy rain, hellblade, etc) but I don’t know if it’s that wild of an opinion.

I don't wanna jinx, but i think they explored the protagonist crazy mind in the first one well (and long) enough, so now they can focus on making an actual game without being shackled by the super heavy themes.

The fanboyism on this board just keeps getting worse despite constant complaints of harsh moderation. It's one thing to troll or war, but another thing altogether to account suicide because you had your post deleted or edited like we have seen recently. Like how delusional do you have to be to think you wont get modded for that post? I am glad these guys commit an account suicide because that simply shows that they have absolutely no shame/self reflection whatsoever. They dont see themselves as blind fanboys and tbh, given how openly I have seen people fanboy on this forum, I am glad something is being done about it.

I've been here a couple weeks short of two years and granted I don't post a ton but the mods here seem fine to me. Was warned once and it was warranted. If people are just adults about this stuff they won't have issues.

It's like people who call Elden Ring big darksouls as an insult. Its like well thats kind of true based on what they developers were going for. It's like a light jab compared to what people can say. In any elden ring vs gow goty thread way worse is said about each game, and both games are instant classics lol. Random gafer 23045 saying GOW is a interactive movie or Elden ring is a walking simulator doesn't change the merit of the games.
