Where Ya Curly Mustaches At?! Marvel vs Capcom 3 Hype Thread of Scoops!

Only the Animation (I thought I heard something about the Ending artwork done by them too..?). The actual Character select Artwork is Shinkiro)

@Alberto: Damn! I forgot how good the game looks in HD via Emulation. I have to say I wouldn't complain one bit if that's how MvC3 would look on an HD console (maybe just add some Comic Book flair and/or some SFIV-ish ink effects).

Im asking about the 3d models and animation, I dont care much about UI elements.

Would be interesting if their in-house team did Wii esque art while an outsourcer does the high end 3d art for SF IV

We don't even know if it's real yet and we're making assumptions about the distribution method and the quality of the graphics?

Cmon guys, a hype train is one thing, but a hype train-wreck is a very sad thing.

I know... but I like to dream as reality is just depressing as hell =/
Honestly, it's not that depressing. Capcom's recent 3D efforts have been good, and if they did use 2D, they'd just cart out that assortment of 15 year old low-res sprites again.

I hope this is true, as much as I like the previous Vs. series, I'm still a scrub in these games. I never learned then like I have SF4.

I bet we will be seeing a lot more Avengers characters since their comic is much more popular than X-men nowdays.

It would be cool if every fighter got a second costume! Black Spider-man, Weapon X Logan, Red Hulk...the possibilities are endless!!! :D

Eh, I just like my 2D games two dimensional. As much as I love the art style of these new games coming out I still vastly prefer the approach of something like BlazBlue or KOFXII. Something about the new look of the games just kind of irks me especially in the character art.

I would much rather have preferred them go with a new IP or something for that style. Animations are fucking astounding though.

Is it going to be Spider-Man vs Ryu on the cover? Or Wolverine vs Ryu on the cover?

Honestly, it should be Spider-man vs Megaman. I'm not sure why Capcom keeps insisting that a generic guy in a generic martial arts uniform has more selling power than Megaman, probably the most iconic mascot they have.

But I guess they must do it for a reason, so maybe it sells.

Tatsunoko VS Capcom was so much like MvC2 I wouldn't mind a 2.5D MvC3 game.

Just hope it's not a Wii-exclusive. I'm sure it won't be.

MvC3 with SFIV's graphical style would be pretty awesome!

It actually felt more like the first Marvel vs. Capcom than the second, to me at least.

I hope Deadpool is in MvC3. I'd probably go Ryu, Deadpool, Gambit. :D

I wonder who they could pull out for some new Capcom characters to the roster. I hope they don't add the Dark Void guy, but I would be all over adding some Breath of Fire characters. :D

Wow this is great news! This Mr. Wizard dude seems like a huge dick though. Why would you a fighting game board shun leaks from fairly trustworthy sources on upcoming fighting games? Seems like Wizard has a conflict of interests.

I just hope the character design is closer to TvC rather than gorilla hulk designs of SFIV.

Ryu is way more popular and iconinc that any Capcom character. Ryu IS Street Fighter and Street Fighters is the brand most people associate with Capcom. Whatever your personal taste is, it doesn't change this fact.

I want her to be able to steal movesets as well. With 3D it should be possible.
That always disappointed me in MvC2. She just gained a temporary boost. I'd love for her to change her moveset when getting others powers.

I strongly disagree. Megaman is far more iconic, and he is the brand most people associate with Capcom. And I guarantee you that the average joe is more interested in Spider-man vs. Megaman than they are in yet another stoic martial artist.

Still, it IS a fighting game, and Ryu has a lot of fame in that genre. But the people who know who Ryu is aren't gonna buy a game just because he's on the cover.

Gorilla hulk designs seem appropriate for superheroes though.
Yeah... for the Hulk. Ryu doesn't need to look like an ape though which is the case for SFIV. His TvC design is much better and closer to what I expect out of a Ryu design.

Nobody is going to stop buying the game for who it´s in the cover.

In any case, the popularity it´s hard to measure isn't? ;) We'll have to live with our different opinions.

And here we go again...

My wishlist, and when it comes true, I will buy this game TWICE!
Or 3 times, if it comes to pc too...

- Sentry
- Black Bolt
- Havok
- Ms Marvel
- Susan Storm
- Noh-Varr
- Nightcrawler
- Pixie
- Magik

(Damn, I am hopeless. Half of this list does not even stand a chance of getting in. Well, maybe neither of them will -.-)

If we are speculating at this point, might I add that this would have some truly beastly netcode. At least one would hope that it would be the best at the time.

I guess is not gonna happend, but this game need at least 80 characters, but like other new fighting games (SF4, kof12, BB...) the chance is that the rooster is gonna be kinda limited.

Dante, Dante, Dante!!!.

Street Fighter is much more popular than Mega Man though, and Ryu is pretty iconic as far as video game character go anyway.

Let's please quit it with the tired, outdated, and silly opinions about Street Fighter IV not looking like what people "think in their heads" what the game should look like. Let's leave that for TTOB, k?

who the hell are Cable and Psylocke? Yea...comic book crowd indeed...
Cable is my favorite X-Men character, if you know who Deadpool is you should totally know who Cable is...IMO

Balanced by Sirlin or no buy!!!

why not put it on all 3?
If its the TvC engine being used I would say this is pretty likely...but then again you never know...

TvC was nothing like MvC2. And that's a good thing.

I'm sure Capcom assumes that the massive American appeal of TATSUNOKO characters is equal to that of MARVEL characters for the average Wii gamer, and already made the decision long ago to forgo the system getting a version of MvC3

For people who grew up in the NES era, Mega Man is the face of Capcom. For people who grew up in the 16bit era, Ryu is the face of Capcom. For people who grew up in the Playstation Generation, Jill Valentine and/or Tyrant/Nemesis are the face of Capcom. For people who grew up in the PS2/Xbox/GCN era, Dante is the face of Capcom.

Capcom has a lot of faces. Mega Man is officially their mascot, Ryu is the character most associated with their fighting brand, neither one sells games as well as zombies do, but looking at past cover art, both of them will probably be on the cover.

It would be hilarious if they used an engine designed for Wii hardware for a game and put it on every platform except the Wii :lol

but considering the developer mentality this gen that is actually a believable scenario.

Sorry if I missed it somewhere, but didn't EA have the license to make Marvel fighting games at one point (Rise of the Imperfects?) Did that lapse or what?

And how did MK v. DC do sales-wise?

Hm, I never thought about it that way. That makes perfect sense.

So what system/s do you suppose Capcom would be making this for? Are they going to cater to the folks who bought TvC on Wii or SFIV and MVC2 on 360 and PS3? I'd hate for fanboys of the latter to rub it in Wii owners faces like "HAH! You get the stupid Japanese heroes nobody knows about and we get MAHVEL." On the other hand I'd love to see a nice blend of TvC's engine with some of the ink effects and full story presentation of SFIV on a high end console.
Multiplatform would be best.

Yes, EA did and Rise of the Imperfects sold horribly. Rumors are that license is currently in limbo.

MK vs. DC did very well, from what I remember. Much better than it should've.

Oh and i want it all crazy!

I could see Ms Marvel making it in, and possibly Nightcrawler. Sue Storm's main power is invisibility, which doesn't really work for a fighting game. Black Bolt would be fantastic, but he can't talk. Nobody else on that list has a chance, except for MAYBE Sentry/Void as a boss character.
