Who’s picking up Ghost Of Tsushima?

Going to finish TLOU2, let a friend borrow it and then I'll probably sell it and buy this one.
Though I will wait to read some impressions. Based on the state of play I think it could either way, it could be something truly great or it could be a generic Ubisoft style open world game with a cool samurai/ninja skin

Day 1 for me. That said, I do not expect it to have nearly as large a cultural footprint as TLOUS2 given that, you know, it's a game about Kamakura bakufu samurais repelling a Mongol invasion.
 
I'm gonna be waiting a little.

Actually, I'll try it before buying it. I'm very interested, but Final Fantasy XII taught me a harsh lesson, about buying games at full price when they launch.

NEVER again.

My Brother.

I've got Fri-Wed booked off work and I've convinced the wife (not actual wife but gf of 9 years) that she needs her own copy of the game as well.

That way I can play undisturbed and she can play her copy of the game as well on the PS4 in the bedroom.

Then we can discuss the game together in the kitchen, like the nerds that we are, while she prepares my Tsushima Sushi!
 
Bought already on PSN. I got the Jin avatar and I saw I get a mini OST. I've been a fan of their games since Morgan Webb from XPlay said InFamous was a must have PS3 game and I was headed out to pick it up from the store. I really liked Cole and I love the setting of Ghost of Tsushima. I'm really looking forward to it.
 
I sold my pro last week. I'll get it when the ps5 releases. Probably last game I was interested in. Hopefully Sony doesn't fubar BC for PS4 games.
 
Yeah, there's nothing else going on right now so why not. Sucker Punch has a good track record for putting out entertaining games.
 
I would be very very surprised if it gets a 90 or above at Metacritic. A lot of pitfalls for this one and it's hard to read the footage shown, but I hope they pull it off, cause I do wanna play through with a Japanese voice track. Assassins Creed should have done this decades ago.

Jokes aside, I almost wanted to play through Odyssey on mute rather than listen to the absurd accents, Bayek would be even better if he spoke actual Egyptian. Ezio speaking Italian would be amazing. Language is the most effective way to put you into another culture, more than architecture or landscapes ever will be.

You can play AC2 with everyone speaking Italian and it's great

Pretty sure there is a Greek speech option in Odyssey too

it looks really fun and right up my alley, but gonna wait and see if players think it's worth 60 bucks or if I should wait for when it's discounted.

Don't think it'll be received as well as TLOU2 — part of the reason TLOU2 was received so well was because of it's political leanings which correlate 1-to-1 with SJW gaming journo culture.

But to answer your question, yes I'll be getting it day one! Leaked impressions (there's not many so far) are positive toward quality, well-written side quests with comparisons to Witcher 3.

I think at the very least it'll be a good game.
 
Waiting for reviews. I liked Days Gone but got bored before finishing, and Horizon Zero Dawn turned me off totally after about 5 hours.

I enjoyed Second Son, though, (although I was younger and less jaded...) so will wait for reviews.
 
It will be way better than TLOU but won't score nearly as high. SP just makes fun games and this one happens to be a genre near and dear to me. I'm super excited to play it, but like Cyberpunk, I'm waiting until I have next gen systems.

I have it preordered on the Playstation Store, this will be my final PS4 game, once I complete it, I will sell my PS4 PRO and wait for PS5.
 
I'll be practicing self control and waiting. Mostly cause I don't have the time for it right now. I finally gave into my inner voice and picked up Elite Dangerous. Which now I realize is something I should have done awhile ago. But who knows, I might cave in and do it. Enjoy boys, I hope its good.
 
Naw. I think the stealth gameplay looks bad, especially compared to TLOU2.



But hey maybe I'll be wrong and it'll end up being awesome in which case I'll pick it up down the road. :pie_raybans:
 
Ghost of Tsushima has been one of my most anticipated games after TLOU 2 and I already have it preordered

I think it might be my personal GOTY I have a bias towards anything with ninjas but TLOU 2 is so good
 
I'll get it. I'll not be around for a month after it launches so no point buying then. Then I've days gone to play but after that I'll get ghost as long as it's not a dud.
 
I have a really hard time imagining a world where Sucker Punch makes anything better than the equivalent of a big mac in game form. I'll play it, but I'm not chomping at the bit to do so.

People thinking Sucker Punch have created CDPR tier side quests 🤣

I'm telling you, when someone starts name dropping like a dummy early on like that, it's hyperbolic bullshit for attention and retweets. Don't believe the hype.

I'd love to be wrong, but I've played all of the Infamous games.

There was no Greek in Odyssey, unless they patched something in later, I think it was only the Ezio trilogy and Unity that had native languages. I think I tried Italian in Creed 2, but since it's animated as speaking English, it looked absolutely ridiculous, wasn't it also just a dub, so the English characters also spoke Italian? As far as I know, Ghost of Tsushima is doing it properly, at least I hope.

Yeah, it's sort of a rule with game previews that you should highlight the good and leave the bad to the review, early previews are almost always bullshit, some devs also hold grudges against sites that talk bad in previews.

Wait you DIDN'T like FF XII? Best final fantasy to date for me.
 
Very rarely pre-order games. Last was Breath of the Wild. Before that, Mass Effect 3. Yeah.

Seriously considering this one. Its like Ghost of Tsushima literally stole the thunder from Assassin Creed Valhalla, which is ironic considering its been described as Assassins Creed Japan.
