Who’s picking up Ghost Of Tsushima?

What's selling it for me is the combat, watch any samurai movie it's all about precision, it's like a perfect dance to strike the most critical hit, and from the combat gameplay they've shown It's possible they've achieved that. I could be wrong, but man does it look satisfying.

I'm personally waiting for reviews because I want to know how the game will perform on my base PS4. If its chugging, I might as well wait for the PS5 version. I've thoroughly enjoyed all the Infamous games, and I'm confident that GoT will be another amazing open world experience from Sucker Punch.

Day 1 for me and I haven't even finish TLOU2 yet :messenger_tears_of_joy: ,but everybody knows that's just how Sony rolls, they always release AAA games even at the end of gen to support their console and fans.

I would like to be educated as to what about this game is making it highly anticipated. Before i commit to trying to play it.

Waiting for reviews. I liked Days Gone but got bored before finishing, and Horizon Zero Dawn turned me off totally after about 5 hours.

I enjoyed Second Son, though, (although I was younger and less jaded...) so will wait for reviews.

yup, wait for reviews.

I started getting hyped when the gameplay released, but tlou2 reminded of sony's house style. Small teams relative to other AAA games, no player choice wrt character and story, super limited rpg options, lots of cinematic cut scenes, no replay value.

Still, maybe I am wrong and GoT will be witcher like in terms of immersive open world, quests, deep rpg stuff, and consequential player choice. otherwise I'll wait for psnow.

I only play one game at a time, so I need to choose to play either Ghost or Paper Mario frist. I'm leaning toward GoT first, but both are must-plays.

Money is tight right now, I'm skipping a number of games that I'd otherwise pick up. Instead, I'm playing through some backlog.

After Days Gone, Death Stranding and the Last of Us 2, I will do something I've never done before and I'm going to wait for the reviews.

Will wait till pc version the earliest, then I might get it depends on the situation, will likely get it when it's on deep sale.

i pre-ordered the steel book edition but somehow my hype is dropping now not sure to pay 90€ for it, maybe ill better waste those 10€ of the preorder and wait for it to drop to 40€ or so :c bummer since I love anything japanese

One final dance on my Pro! Let's hope it ends with a bang!
anything above 84 meta is good enough from me but since I already preordered it, it probably doesn't matter lol

I've never really been into this game, nor the idea of it. I dunno, a game based on Japanese history not made by a Japanese studio just doesn't feel right to me.

I've also never have thought Sucker Punch games were very good. Pretty visuals don't make a good game either.

Really? Hows that any different than Japanese developers making games that has western setting like Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Original Dead Rising and many more.

Because those aren't going for realistic setting like this game is. Those are fantastical stories, with just an interpretation of american culture. Charming in their own way. This is going for historical and realism. Kind of a different thing. It's like if a Japanese studio tried to make a game about the American revolution, or civil war. I dunno, I just don't think an american studio is qualified.

Sucker Punch is a stellar studio and I'm glad to see them making a new i.p. Still on the fence as far as day 1 purchase, and after TLoU2 I sure as fuck won't be taking the word of 94% of reviewers I read. But if some of the more trusted reviewers at least give it a good to great review I'll probably pick it up.

This has historical setting but its not going for realism....

What this games going for is more of old samurai movies like you see in Kurosawa's films. This games is not trying to be a "Japanese game" its very western game with Japanese setting, same way Metal Gear Solid is very Japanese game with western setting.

I think I will. It looked from the demo that it has prioritised gameplay instead of mashing buttons in "cinematic" QTEs. I like the interaction between the world and the player too, it all feels very natural. I bet Nintendo are kicking themselves they didn't think of using the wind as a breadcrumb trail first.

So realistic that you need a fox or bird or wind to guide you huh?

Preodered it a few days ago. On a hungarian forum some guy wrote some nice things abut the game. I'm kind of happy that ubisoft didnt make a feudal japan AC game.

I've ordered a special edition (steelbook) - so it's a day one for me. inFamous was pretty good and also I really like japanese stuff and I wanted like a new Tenchu game since forever - this game will be at least good. Days Gone was a mess and it was still way better than crap we get every year and it seems this game will be enjoyable and won't be a technical mess. Dunno about story thou but it can 't be that bad. I really dig the esthetics and guiding wind - so much more immersive than a mini map.

It was between this and paper mario and nintendo games rarely drop in price so I went with that. Thankfully,Sony games seem to drop in price semi quickly and i'll pick it then. The game does look really good though.

Already told the wife how it's gonna be even though I just bought TLOU2 and drained our account setting money aside for both next gen consoles, games, controllers, a monitor etc. Rekt.
'I'm gonna be a dumb blind mindless consumer and there's nothing you can do about it, imaginary wife!'

I'm ready to kick some mongorians asses

When it hits 20 bucks for sure. At that point it'll be completely patched and all trophies already released so I can mop it up in one go and do not have to come back later.

Preloading now! Hope the reviews are good and even if the game is average, I can spend a few couple hours in medieval Japan to get my fix of open world AAA goodness which is not Ubisoft.

End of PS4 era is nigh.

I am, but I gotta admit, I'm starting to tire of sandbox games. After having played so many, they all seem to take the same general formula. Go to this section of the map, do these tasks and kill these guys, and then either complete or gain control of that section of the map and then go to the next one, and repeat the rest of the game while the main quest line is usually lacking and short

And for all of them usually having skill trees, I usually find myself just sticking with what works best for me with no real motivation to experiment with other things. I actually think that's what saved Spider-Man from falling victim to this, the quests got boring in that too, but the combat never did. It was a fucking blast, so I always was using every skill to take on gangs of enemies. And the traversal of terrain in that was so fun and unique, other games simply can't offer that. It's usually car, horseback or by foot 😴😴

I haven't seen a ton of gameplay footage of Ghost, but the ones I have seen, combat looks like it will get stale after about 10 hours. I hope not, I like this theme. I hope it offers something different gameplay wise from other sandbox games.
