Who will have the biggest E3 surprise?

We know most of what Microsoft's first-party is doing, but they can always moneyhat some third-party exclusive as a surprise. I bet a big multiplatform game is also getting shown at Microsoft's presser, a new Call of Duty, Fallout, Mass Effect.

Sony is getting lowballed I think, and it'll make the conference better for it.
People are expecting them to coast along until 2015 but I have a feeling they are coming out swinging.
They have the momentum right now, they are the lead platform for the coming generation and they seem to have their heads on straight ever since the PS4 was first revealed.
Bringing a steady stream of first party exclusives is what made the PS3 the end-of-generation powerhouse that it is right now, and i'm certain they have taken notice.

They're making tons of cash even without the Half-life franchise. I doubt they care that much now for HL3.

And making games is about making money.

Its in fact because they care so much that it has been such a ghost.

Yes, steam is making them bounds of money. But they are still passionate game creators, that's what got them to the place they are at now.

They aren't EA.

I hope Nintendo announces a Retro Studios game other than Metroid or DKC. Maybe a Starfox or Starfox Adventures.

Edit: Biggest surprise would be a Wii U game changer, like release it without Gamepad, or I dunno add Android support, or a subscription model like ps plus, or whatever, something big..

Nintendo will announce that Reggie was a mech all along and they are now in mass production phase.

You'll be able to buy your own Reggie Fils-A-Mech this holiday season. He will follow you around everywhere. It's the ultimate portable system. New Super Zelda Brawl Prime will be a launch title. Sony and Microsoft, along with several small nations, will surrender.

Both Sony and Microsoft have been good with announcements this last year. Sony has been a bit more secretive and Microsoft is playing it a bit more safe. The only one who is extremely boring is Nintendo who seems unable to anything new outside the staple series that were once original.

Hard to say but I am throwing my card on Microsoft because if not for anything else I'm" expecting them to surprise me with something this year versus their competitors.

Nintendo Smash Bros competition might be surprisingly entertaining and make millions of people go out and buy a Wii U, Wii U is saved.
That's the biggest surprise.

I have a feeling that the biggest E3 surprise will be hardware related and not software related.

Software the biggest surprises is that almost every game will be delayed to 2015 and 2014 will be filled with 1080p HD remasters from last gen.

Hasn't Sony themselves said the game isn't cancelled and they are just waiting for the right time to re-debut it?

Honestly, as excited as I would be about TLG showing up, this board VASTLY overestimates the importance that game has.

I'd love to see TLG again but I'll try and keep my expectations in check because of all the problems with the development process of the game and all.

Now about who will have the biggest surprise? From Sony Project Beast would have been totally crazy (too bad that it leaked) so a TLG could be Sony's big surpise, from Ninty a Zelda gameplay trailer and a Metroid announcement will be amazing and from MS a Halo 5 gameplay trailer with the rumored Platinum game will be really great news too.

I'd say that predicting which will be the one big surprise is really hard at this point. Hopefully E3 will be so good that we will have a hard time choosing which was the biggest surprise.

Yes and yet there are still so many that think its cancelled.

I don't the board is overestimating anything. This is a hardcore gaming forum and so I'm not surprised to see so much hype for a game from the makers of SoTC and ICO. Just like how Project beast got 5 times the views the new COD got.

People are just excited for what could an outstanding game.

I'm hoping Microsoft will surprise a lot of people with some unannounced games.

Also really looking forward to ND and QD if they are present at E3.

Nintendo.. I honestly have no idea.

I'm actually excited for everything.

Uhm.. I feel Microsoft is all talk but no action.
I doubt they will be the one to deliver something I'm interested in, even if the moneyhat Rockstar (for example) as that would be more irritating than surprising.
So I bet on Nintendo this year, maybe a so long requested IP brought back to life or, even better, something new.

I don't know about you guys but, nothing can top this for me.
If it does get announced.

I do not know how anyone in this day and age could be surprised by anything, really. Especially following all the speculation on gaming related boards, which tend to cover all possibilities, stretching into the world of rainbows and unicorns.

I think MS will probably reveal stuff that is launching further out time wise, after the troubled launch and Kinect reversal I'm not expecting them to be throwing huge amounts of cash around to buy expensive exclusive deals for a while.

I'm not expecting much from Sony, but I'm fairly happy with what is in the pipeline anyway.

Microsoft seem pretty confident in their E3 conference this year based on how they've repeatedly said it's all about the games this year.

Rare is gonna do something different then kinect now, it's fucking time guys.
It's time for the Banjo game we always wanted, the one we've waited for since Tooie, Banjo
Nuts and Bolts 2, features submarines and deep sea racing
.

I think there is a big difference between pleasant surprises that many people were actively hoping for (Kid Icarus: Uprising in 2010 for example) and out of fucking nowhere announcements that literally nobody saw coming (Bayonetta 2 in the September 2012 Nintendo Direct for example).

This thread is mainly filled with the former.

EA: X-Wing/Tie Fighter reboot with Gaijin as the developer

Ubisoft: Patriots going next-gen, playable demo

Konami: Gray Fox Adventures by Platinum

Nintendo: Unified account system + psplus-like subscription model

Sony: Partnership with Firaxis bringing next Civilization to PS4.

Any of the above will surprise the shit out of me. Oh, right, forgot one thing...

Microsoft: I don't know and I don't care.

Sony: Partnership with Firaxis bringing next Civilization to PS4.
I would have mixed feelings about this. On one hand it would amazing. On the other, my PS4 would probably melt due to overuse. And it's got to be the full experience like on PC, not some watered down revolutions style shit.

At exactly what point did they become NOT huge?

To be fair, Halo is a such a staple brand for Microsoft, there's no IF it's coming, it's WHEN it's getting announced. The normal development time for each mainline game is about 3 years. Hell, I could make a reasonable prediction that Halo 6 will come out Holiday 2018, just following the trend of nearly every non-spinoff in the series.

MS.
With all the good announcement the have made lately one would have thought they were better saved for E3.

Maybe they are booked and have bigger surprises ? :D

How long has it been since Microsoft won an E3 or at least made their fanbase surprised with an announcement? FF13 announcement is really the only thing I can think of...

As of now, Microsoft has seemingly made such huge announcements pre-E3, you have to wonder what they have saved for the conference itself.
