Then besides those we have exclusives like WipEout PS3, White Knight, Socom 4. Those are million sellers. Then we have additional quality titles like inFamous and potentially a Insomniac game and other unannounced Sony 1st party titles (they usually announce them nine months ahead).

You do realize the success of just about all the above mentioned games has been in question for months, right?

Besides fanboy dreams, people have touted the MGS4 360 and FFXIII Wii lines in the past because many feel the PS3 will cause the games to be far less successful than they should be.

It's really too bad you won't be around to see it. GT5 would've been a much better game to go 'all in' on instead of Heavenly Sword.
 
Seriously, how the fuck do people think that certain games will be MORE popular on PS3 than fricken PS2? Userbase ALWAYS matters.

I'm sure Microsoft has something up their sleeves. They did announce 2 'casual' games this E3 (VP Party Animals and Scene It), but other than that they have been quiet since X06. Almost a year now. But if you look on the Internet, you'll find out that some independent dev studios are working on exclusive 360 games (for example Blue Castle Games).

is the exception, not the rule. To clarify my point, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World outsold their N64 counterparts in Japan, unsure how units sold world wide went.

Wow - can we get Wollan sectioned?

For a start Wollan, for the PS3 to have the user base to sell those figures - then that would mean a massive upturn in sales pretty soon. I`d suggest if that does happen, you can kiss the $399 price goodbye for a start.

Even with a very optomistic sales pattern, those games look to be at 100% (or even above) tie ratios.

Good luck to sony and all that, but this just strikes me as delusional given the predicament and is basically a status check on why the sony fans are struggling with their first ever "bad" console run.

How did every other Hot Shots golf do? GT5 is the epitomey of a Hardcore game.Hell I don't own Froza because I can't stand the car physics.Burnout is more my style and "Maybe" PGR4, what was the PS2 base when GT4 came out? It would be better to go by that % wise.

There were less PS2's sold when GT3 dropped compared to what there will be PS3's sold when GT5 drops.
 
I predict no PS3 game will ever sell over 10m units. None.

Wii and 360 will each manage at least 2 games over 10m, and DS will manage 6 or more.

The key is not to be dismayed when a majority of ppl hate it. Be brave like Wollan, or ignore sales-age threads or take it in stride.

So do I, but it doesn't alter the fact that it currently has few games for my liking (I own/plan to own in the near future: Oblivion, VF5 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma), and that it is a complete commercial failure comparing it to Sony's previous offerings.

I loved my Saturn too.

I doubt a game will go over 40-50% tie ratio but I believe GT5 will be at the very limit.
In my mind GT5 will hit in July like the creator expressed not long ago. At the end of 08 there will probably be 16-18 million PS3s sold (and 8 million copies of GT5).

I really would love to know how many PS3's will have sold by the end of 2007 and then again end of 2008 to support these sales numbers.
 
I believe Sony will hit 8 million consoles sold by the end of this year worldwide.
18 million was my max actually, I had 16-18 mill written for end of next year.
I really believe their insane lineup, single sku with strong price drop will help them strongly next year. Next gen came too early, more people will be ready next year.
