I did find MGS2 a bit out of touch as MGS game... the protagonist doesn't help (the opposite) and the story is suck nonsense.MGS4 truly touches the heart more than any other MGS game.

The best theory imo for that was just being a Raiden dream and not something that actually happened in the world of MGS.
Kojima saw that and back to actually do great games with MGS3.
MGS4 is for me the best MGS he ever done.

It's because the Japanese VA for Big Boss and the Japanese VA for Old Snake were also father and son, who had had a falling out, and Kojima cast them together to try and get them to reconcile, and they did.

This is all you really need. The gameplay is meh (pretty good for PSP though) but the story is just amazing.

I love you bro, but this is so wrong and false.
MGS2 is Kojima's Magnum Opus because it achieved what no other game achieved at the time and to this day. It may not be the most accessible, enjoyable, entertaining, or fun MGS game, but it's arguably the greatest game ever created by Kojima.

Yeah, it was something else when it released. I remember starting it and then suddenly you got that TV show with some dudes doing aerobic and I was totally dumbstruck. I felt like I got trolled and the game isn't really out just yet and this whole thing was just a big joke for $60.

MGS4 is the best MGS title to date. I think I finished that game over 5 times.Give me 20 hours of well directed cutscenes vs crappy tapes. I remember PS3 was in a rough spot after so many fake gameplay presentations so MGS4 was on the chopping block too, then the guy presses pause at E3 and starts rotating the camera and everyone went "holy shit this is real gameplay". Raiden becomes a bad ass. Mgs4....its just so hardcore.

Thanks! Yeah I'm at a point in my life where concentration is limited so 20 or 30 minutes at a time tops....i might not make it through the cutscenes!
