Metal Gear Solid Δ Snake Eater |OT| Hungry for More Snake?

Sold.

The close combat still feel a bit clunky, even when you get close you have press r2 and wait until the circle to load to grab, it definitely feel a bit disjointed for lack of better words.

Maybe there is an option to reduce the time you need to keep pressing? i'm gonna check tomorrow.

Unless you're super sensitive to frame drops, I'd say go for it.
Well I mean I am opting to not go the ps5 pro route because of really bad frame drops that DF reported.

If it's just 54 to 60 fps drops I'm good but if you mean drops down to 33/41 fps kind of shit then it's the same crap different box.

For such an expensive game, it has some very poor issues. I understand that it is the Oblivion remake team, but the Ultrawide, like that game, is broken and doesn't offer proper resolutions. Turning on HDR also changed my resolution for some reason. The image quality doesn't look very good, but that could be exaggerated by the wrong resolutions.

Edit - Lyall has released an Ultrawide, frame rate unlock, splash screen skip fix

2 games on the same day that both suffer from low effort from the devs (Gears Reloaded being the 2nd).

As for the OT itself, it is fantastic. Well done!

I fucking hate this website.

I was going to avoid the game due to issues but the hype and this amazing thread has made me weak in the knees.

I'm going to get it after completing Shinobi now on the shitty ps5 pro.

Fuck.

its not gaf, its mgs3. one of the greatest games of all time. hard to resist. its like getting prime lindsay lohan with better textures and AO.

As a huge MGS fan, I'm going to keep playing but only because of stockholm syndrome. It's literally the same game with better graphics and its up to you if that's bad or good. Controls still feel old school and detection is still silly . I was hoping for MGSV movement and such with MGS3 story but I guess not. They've fked up not going with the FOX engine and it shows. Kojima knew what he was doing with it, great gameplay and good graphics that can run even on the crappiest hardware at 60fps is nuts.

What are you talking about lol, Snake moves the same as MGSV, he literally has the same animations, the only thing missing is sprinting.

Go and check your eyes, or maybe go and play MGSV and compare it

I disagree the fluidity just isn't there. The dive the immediate getting into crouch stance and such none of it is smooth. Not knocking you just doesn't feel as fluid as before. Just feels like they did the bare minimum to cash in.

I saved right after Sokolov. It looks good, but MGS3 was a good looking game to begin with. I'm back to jumping at soldiers with guns to knock them down. I forgot this was how I played MGSV.

What you are asking is absurd. MGSV is open world, and Snake's movement is adjusted accordingly. MGS3 maps are tiny in comparison. Making Big Boss moving so fast would break the game.

I have 300 hours in Phantom Pain and many in Ground Zeroes. Except for a few animations, BB in this remake has the exact same animations. Saying otherwise is foolish and misleading to everyone here

Just be honest, and admit that you can't get 60 frames per second and you are upset about that. But don't lie man

Anyone know if the Volgin torture sequence trick to avoid any damage still works, where if you hold any of the shoulder buttons to open the weapon/item menus, the dialogue still keeps playing but you don't take any damage?

Ultrawide fix is OUT

A modder does what developers with millions of dollars can't. Once again, incompetence at its peak.

Bought the deluxe edition, but I still need to finish Death Stranding 2, so it'll have to wait for a bit, since I don't like playing 2 singleplayer games at the same time. Did my part, let's bring MGS back baby.

Fuck, I should've never started my first playthrough on hard. Guards get up quickly after being shot with the tranquilizer gun or beaten with cqc; not only that, they can spot you from a greater distance even with a high enough camo index...

So I started killing enemy soldiers in wider areas that require a bit of "exploration." I have like 4 kills and 2 or 3 alerts...

I don't think there's an option to switch back to normal difficulty from the options.... (just defeated the Pain)

Has anyone notices how ugly the depth of field during cutscenes is at times? It looks very shimmery. I hope we get a mod to remove it entirely from the cutscenes at some point

It doesnt because they literally put a fresh coat of paint over the architecture of the original title. I have no problem with it, for me its exactly how I remember it but no, they didnt implement anything from MGS 5 into this game.

Have any of you actually played MGSV ? Big Boss in Delta uses the same animations as Venom Snake, except for sprinting that is absent. The movements are identical, crawling is the same, crouching is the same, aiming is the same, you can do every single movement that Venom Snake does and it looks 100% the same. They just slowed these animations down because Delta isn't open world.

Some of you really need to stop spreading nonsense or maybe go back to play MGSV to refresh your memory

Went with PC. As expected, UE5 stuttering is pretty much all the time, sadly. My 5700X is holding higher than 60fps for the most part, but the damn stutter/hitching.

I definitely should have gone with PS5 to avoid the worst of that, but I can't say I wasn't warned.

A custom DLSS of 85% (900p) still looks really bloody clean on my 3060 though, which is nice.

Will finish on PC, and then pick up the console version down the road.

Also that difference with the classic filter on. My goodness. I would have had that as default on if I was Konami.

Totally forgot about that. Did Bluepoint leave that intact for the HD release on 360/PS3 ?
Actually, I can't even remember if you could still do it in Subsistence on PS2.

Unless you care for the final score, who cares if you kill them?

I'm stealth killing everyone on hard with the knife, i don't want them to wake up while i explore, but i never cared for scores.

I kinda want to go with extreme but i don't know if the possible residual clunkiness of the game can maybe make that frustrating for the wrong reasons.

I really dont care about the filter they mention if its a basic,. static tint adjustment or something.

It would need to change scene by scene to be worthwhile..

Thought the same of the shitty filters they had for demon souls and sotc remake
I think them adding the 'filter' option due to fan feedback was an even worse decision for them to make than leaving it out, because the effect is that it's gaslighting a ton of people into actually believing that MGS 3 had nothing but a yellowish filter for the entire game.

I'm shaking my head at all of it. It's so easy to just look up some gifs of scenes and see the different color grading on display.

I'm becoming more and more tempted by this for some reason....I played the original to death back when it released already so not sure if it's worth it for me.

I would say is totally worth it. And think about it, if we support Konami, they will start make remakes of older games. Imagine Peace Walker or Portable Ops with these graphics and gameplay

Game is short as hell, the Pain is like 2 hours in or less including cutscenes? I'd start over.

I kill when it's absolutely necessary lol.
