Metal Gear Solid Δ Snake Eater |OT| Hungry for More Snake?

This guy P40L08 posts the same shitty performance mods on every UE5 game and they "fix" absolutely nothing. I see his mods as most endorsed on Nexus for so many games these days.

He also has a thread elswhere with tips on getting the best out of Windows 11, and most of them just break shit even more.

At first I thought fair play to the man for helping people out, but then quickly realised it's pretty much all for clicks just to get people over to his Patreon page for more "premium" paid fixes when the free stuff doesn't work.

Wanker!

Ugh. I was thinking of buying the PC version today, but I looked some video benchmarks for my graphics card (RTX 3070), and the results suck. Those performance numbers are terrible...

Its a grifter, yes.

Kept me waiting, huh.

If the port isn't shit, i'll just buy and "keep" it once its delivered.

Just caved and bought a 5080.

Leave it to kojima for forcing me into buying the PS5 Pro and now the 5080. This mother fucker has cost me $1,700 plus tax in the last few months alone.

To those saying the controls are the same as the original - you're either being disingenuous, or haven't realized that you can choose between legacy/classic controls and modern. They are absolutely not the same. Anyway, back to Delta. Gonna try out some mods today.

yeah i saw era turn on him earlier this year. his UE5 fixes especially do nothing. its just config file changes.

What he's doing is basically making changes that worked for some poorly optimized UE4 titles like hogwarts and callisto. But UE5 is different and those same config changes do nothing.

What you are asking is absurd. MGSV is open world, and Snake's movement is adjusted accordingly. MGS3 maps are tiny in comparison. Making Big Boss moving so fast would break the game.

I have 300 hours in Phantom Pain and many in Ground Zeroes. Except for a few animations, BB in this remake has the exact same animations. Saying otherwise is foolish and misleading to everyone here

Just be honest, and admit that you can't get 60 frames per second and you are upset about that. But don't lie man
Are you really trying to attack me via performance when I'm talking about overall fluidity? How do you have 900 hours in MGSV and can really sit there and say its the same. The actual grabbing of the enemies isn't even the same......And why does it matter if its open world or not to have fluidity in just changing position from standing to crouching to prone? Also I have a 5090 :messenger_tears_of_joy: I didn't even touch on performance which we all know is trash, the PS5 pro can't even hit stable 60fps in a game that's not even as good looking as Death Stranding 2.

Anyone playing on pro?

Is it as bad as DF made it sound?
No. After seeing their video, I was also worried. I had to decide wich version to purchase, but after not seeing to much PC Footage online I finaly decided to give th PS5 Version a go and played up to after the Fear encounter. On pro there are some occasional dips, but I rarely notice them. Got an C1 with VRR so maybe most of it is fine because its in the VRR Window. Totally fine for me.

Time to risk it for this biscuit I guess. Will pick it up for pro tomorrow or Friday.

I also switched to legacy filter, you can use photo mode to check the image without and with the filter on and i must say it looks much better with it on

Just got the intro video after like 3 hours lol

Best prologue of all time. What did you think of the first 3 hours? Story wise. I know its your first time playing.

Still undecided if I want to get this game right now or not. Paying over $100 Canadian for something I've played 10 to 15 times before and know I can beat in a few hours is a tough one to say yes to. On the other hand, easily one of my favourite games of all time.

Lyall's mod worked. Playing it on ultrawide (3440x1440), but also getting big frame drops just standing around. Uncapping the fr limit in the mod's ini helped, but still doesn't feel quite right. At least I'm not getting the odd slow motion from the other fix mentioned earlier. Hopefully we get a proper fix soon.

I'm on a 4090, 13700k.

The drops are weird because I'm on a 5080 and have zero issues so far. I stopped playing when the snake eater mission officially starts.

Side note: game looks absolutely incredible, exceeded my expectations so far.

Using the Lyall mod and ultrawide 32:9 works at 5120x1440p in borderlands window. I unlocked the frame rate too, but it dropped to high 40s low 50s, so switched DLSS to quality and get about 65-70. Going to try it with frame rate locked again see if it helps anyway. Definitely a better impression than yesterday.

I'm on a 5070ti and 58003d and seems fine for the most part. Stutter is near non existent, oddly get a slight at the begin of a cutscene but in game I have been fine running at 4K 60 on mostly ultra and performance dlss looks good and plays well enough for me. Nothing near as bad as oblivion even including its most recent patches.

Played a good way through heading to the battle with the Fury so I'm more than halfway through at this point. Been a fun ride going back, I'm enjoying the port.
