And do not worry about the pointer controls... with the touchscreen, a similar system to the K&M setup could be replicated... kinda like Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS... but more comfortable.

So you think they'd actually try to put a stylus on there...or you'd use your finger?

So should we speculate on why the name?

Project Reality was named for bringing 3D to home console gaming.
Project Dolphin was named for its processor.
Project Revolution was named as they set out to revolutionize the industry.

Cafe? No idea. Some cool social media function would be all I got.

What about Kirby, Rhythm Heaven and Zelda:SS?

EDIT: Just saw the list. Wii Play : Motion and Mystery Case Files in June, Zelda still dated to 2011. And nothing else. God this is sad.

relax, they've only announced up to Q2. Have you people not caught on to Nintendo's recent strategy? Seriously, it's only been like 3 years. Wait til E3.

I hang out with Matt and Bozon weekly...I'd kill to simply set up Garage Band and record our gaming conversations. But for some reason, it's not that easy.

*squints*

Craig, is that you?

If so, I have a pressing question I've had for one of you since the GCN days.

That can't be craig...Can it?

It's because you've got a server...

Yeah, that's his account.

Do it Craig! It's been so long since I've heard the trifecta. :(

It's called Cafe because the tablet controller will make you look like the kind of douchebag that normally hangs out at coffee shops

Now that I think of it...I vaguely remember crankypants being Craig.

I'm sure one of you has Garageband on the iPad. Sit around a table, turn it on and go. Unless there's some legal reason this couldn't happen?

Yeah, Craig has a blog called CrankyCraig which I would link to if I weren't on a phone posting this.

Craig, your leaving IGN has made me not go back until all this Cafe stuff happened. Just thought I'd let you know. So glad I found your site and blog though a chance encounter. Promote yourself more, dood!

I'm still anxious to see how motion controls are integrated into the system.

They have to be there in some form, right?

I doubt this controller will be able to replicate the Wii-Mote. I imagine the system will be similar to the Wii when it comes to backwards compatibility.

I do see a gyroscope being implemented.

aside from streaming stuff, i don't think the screen is going to be that interactive. i presume you'll view the stream while using traditional buttons and the twin analog sticks to play. this would be ideal.

you can probably tilt the controller to move your vehicle on screen, etc. like mario kart.

The thing about Nintendo is that even though they're constantly evolving their controllers, they almost always retain the features introduced in previous iterations. I can't see them just abandoning motion control.

Basically. Sounds like it's supposed to appeal to the people sipping on their coffee at starbucks while using their iPad looking sophisticated(until you realize they are just using the free wifi to watch porn).

Which is why I included gyroscopic controls. I don't think a pointer will make the cut this time around just like a second analog never made the cut for the Wii-mote.
