Wii emulator can do 720p HD

Actually it looks slightly better since the assets are a bit higher-res than they need to be for a 480p game.
Really? That's encouraging.

Define "slightly higher", though. High enough so as to not be Blown Up to 720p?

Muramasa 720p:

Uh need to experiment with more games, but so far it seems to run better than my PS2 emulator....maybe because it's Muramasa. I don't think it should run as well as it does.

Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.0GHz
Windows 7 64bit
4GB Ram
Nvidia 9600GSO 512MB GDDR3

Really nice screens Wesker, I would love to see more if you are going to play farther into the game. Keep them widescreen too.

I would take widescreen (with appropriate aspect ratio as shown) and a stretched hud over 4:3 any day. 4:3 look fucking atrocious if you ask me.

Yeah, I agree. The HUD isn't even as stretched as I thought it would be.

Yay, I finally got Killer7 working on Dolphin! And I got a new wallpaper out of it.

Runs pretty well with everything maxed, I'll dial it down a bit to stop the framerate ever dipping. Now to find my wired 360 pad.

How would an i7 920 CPU + GTX 260 perform with Dolphin?
I'm assuming it'll be fine, especially with a slight overclock. I can run most of my games at full speed on my notebook (X9000 and a geforce 8600), so I'd guess a decent desktop setup would be more than enough.

no shit

I was too, don't worry. What's wrong with GAFs sarcasm sometimes? I had hoped the all caps would've given it away :lol
I dunno, it's kind of hard to detect in general, being emotionless text and all. Though I suppose the caps should have tipped me off :D

I can tell I'm in the minority, but I don't think that Wind Waker has aged terribly well, or that HD screens do wonders for it. The art style is still gorgeous, but the environments look so... barren.

That's part of the style, innit.

I still love it. It's just that the HUD is so jarringly out of place, being not at all made for that resolution - widescreen or otherwise. I hate inconsistencies. ):

I think it's funny that Wind Waker's HUD wasn't future proofed yet NSMBWii's HUD looks totally fine even at 1920x1080

It's because NSMBWii supports 16:9 ;). Also, it isn't just the HUD that isn't 'future-proof', a hack is needed to get the 3D to render properly in widescreen.

I mean to say that when bumping up Wind Wakers resolution, even at 4:3 without using the widescreen hack, the HUD elements don't become more detailed like NSMBWii's HUD.

huds can be replaced with widescreen friendly, high res versions like in ocarina of time emu version, not sure about the map though

The NSMB HUD really is "future-proof" in the sense that it's much higher resolution than it needs to be for 480p. It's interesting.

Ah, my apologies then. I believe Brawl also has high-res 2D assets.

Maybe the font is, but the icons still look blown-up.

But the biggest offense with "high-res" NSMB is the 2D elements of the level. Like in Wesker's picture above, while the 3D elements look pretty amazing, the 2D wall section at the top is so fucking ugly.

I respectfully disagree.
Then I guess they look like that normally and you're just used to it from playing on your Wii because those are very clearly too low for the resolution at which they're currently displayed. the Mario head and normal coin especially. Star coin is not as guilty, and could pass.

Sin & Punishment 2, unfortunately, does not scale so well in this emulator due to the same filter that No More Heroes has. Plus, there are a ton of effects missing in the emulation state. Not really worth it.

So it's accurate enough to include shitty SD filters, but not the important effects in the game?

Damnit.

They are only blown up a bit, not not a full 640p->1080p blow. Take a look again at this post:

Actually, they might even be 1080p and just not be crisp because of JPEG compression. Can't judge through a FullHD picture compressed to 300kB.

Well of course. I never said that wasn't a possibility! In fact I think you're probably right.

I dunno about this though. Possibly. The Mario and Coin icon are jarringly different from the font. It's too consistent (the difference between icon/font, I mean) to blame it on compression artifacts.

Either way, like I said before, the biggest offense is the 2D elements of the level itself. Dat shit be rank, yo.
