Wii U Games 2015

I've decided the system isn't for me after playing it for about a hour today. I thought I would feel some of the Nintendo magic playing Mario 3D world and Mario Kart 8, but it's lost on me. If anyone is interested I'm selling everything I have with it in the B/S/T thread here http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=142893514&postcount=9682
Surely that hour was the final hour after weeks of playing on and off, I can't imagine after just one hour you were like nope never again...

Anyone else surprised we havent gotten a single mario sports title yet? I mean what are camelot, and next level games working on right now?

For some reason Camelot isn't as productive as they used to be. They used to release many more games than they currently do. I don't really know what happened there.

Yeah, this strikes me as odd. I would absolutely kill for Mario Golf in HD. I'd imagine Nintendo has 1, MAYBE 2 more games to announce for 2015, so I hope one of them is a Mario sports title.

that would be nice also tennis, hell since nitendo and namco bandai seem all buddy buddy they should contract them to make a new baseball entry since they made the first two and put SE on another sports game like sports mix or a new basketball game.

The former I would guess is working on one. The latter has hopefully moved on to bigger and better things for good.

I dunno a new strikers game with better online would be great but i would also like next level games to make a new luigi's mansion for wii u lol

I think I'm going to end up purchasing pretty much all the upcoming games coming out save Mario Party 10. No online play with that game is a deal breaker since I have no one to really play that game locally with on a regular or semi-regular basis and I rather not spend money on something that will get play a few times out of the year if I'm lucky.

In fact I'm glad this list was made again. I picked up a PS4 GTA bundle on black friday and after playing with it for a few days it helped me re-understand just want I wanted out of a system. As a piece o tech the PS4 is great but I think that was the main draw for me and I only really saw that once I had it in my home and messed around with for while. GTA V was nice but I can get that on my PC in 2015. I don't need a new system for it and nothing else that was being announced or even out really were games I "really" wanted to play or looked forward to a lot. I can easily say that with various Wii U and 3DS games and that's what I had to compare things to. I can say that with some PC games as well. It really is all about the games in the end and that list of games ( coming and that are already out) in the opening post of this thread are what I find exciting regardless of how the Wii U is selling. As long as Nintendo continues to be able to put out great games that interest me I'll be happy to continue my support of them by buying them and the hardware to play them. I'll miss out on third party titles and that's okay. The few I'm interested in I can get on my PC and I rather spend the money to update that, slowly if I have to, as I use it for more then games.

In the end I ended up returning the PS4 to the store. Best Buy might have screwed up my Smash Bros bundle order but at least I was able to do the return without any trouble even though the system was open and played for a few days. I don't regret buying it as it helped to clear my head regarding what I really wanted. In the end I'm happy with just the Wii U/3DS/PC combo.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is going to be amazing. Looking forward to that so much I'm making a point to finally finish up Xenoblade Chronicles as I got busy with work toward the end and took a break to play and beat The Last Story and never finished it and it's always bothered me. I'm really looking forward to the see how polished Devil's Third is. I'm not afraid to admit that I might not have been that interested in that game if it wasn't an exclusive but it is and that impacts my interest in a positive way. I like the variity it is going to be offering. It's part of why I picked up Bayonetta 2. I played and beat the first game and now into the second and enjoying it a LOT. The new Legend of Zelda gameplay footage has prompted me to pull out my copies of Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and Wind Waker HD. However not playing those again until I finish Xenoblade.

Why not simply return the system, controllers, and unopened games to the store?

Well I finished the first circuit in Mario Kart and the first few levels in Mario. It just didn't grab me like I thought it would. They are good games. Don't get me wrong. They just didn't fill me with joy like I thought they would. I still really don't like the tablet controller either and not happy they seem to force that on you at least part of the time.

I probably will if I don't sell it. I just bought everything at different stores so it's kind of a pain to do it.

That lineup....

You know what would be fucking sweet for 2015?

A HD Remake of some beloved Nintendo game, talking like Metroid Prime Trilogy HD (would help introduce people to Metroid on the WiiU), Mario Sunshine or Galaxy in HD or the Fire Emblem games.

Honestly Nintendo should have something in the works for 2016, a hopefully a new Metroid, F-Zero (pipe dream), a new IP or how about CUSTOM FUCKING ROBO YO. Shit was fucking great on the DS, never played the Gamecube version.

- Put that shit on the WiiU with Amiibo integration.
- 4 players with Gamecube adapter support.
- Up the graphix
- Create your own Robo
- More things I havent thought of cause I got finals.

If not, how about FUCKING METABOTS?!?!.
It'll never happen.
Hire me Nintendo, I got ya back lol

Mario 3D World gets a lot better. The first stages are very easy. The later stages are also a lot more creative.

I'll preorder the shit out of some of these games if nintendo manage to release firmware updates that don't make my console useless :x

every time I've tried to turn on the fucking thing it gets stuck on the stupid standby light, and won't connect to the gamepad. I've tried everything.
I've had it for 2 days :(

Have you called support? Checked their tech support forums?

Yea, call customer support or return, dude. Unless you bought it used, of course. That doesn't sound like something a firmware update would magically fix (especially since you can't seem to turn it on)

when can we expect a new nintendo direct? january?
and what can we expect there?
Hoping for Devils Third, Splatoon and Starfox ^^

You can't "expect" anything anymore. There is no pattern anymore like there used to be. They could do one next week, they could do one in January or they could wait until February again. The worst thing to do is "expect" them to show off one of the major games. This is the problem with most of the people and Nintendo Directs. One of them has a megaton so if the next one doesn't then it's all complaints and whining.

I was referring to the firmware update that messed up the console in the first place, sorry for the confusion.

I'm going to call their support in a sec.

Well I think Splatoon and Devils Third are reasonable and far away from a megaton lol.
But I agree with Starfox. More an e3 thing

Zelda, Xenoblade and StarFox are guaranteed day 1 purchases, although I'm skeptical about StarFox making it out in 2015.

Mario Maker, Splatoon, Kirby and Yoshi are wait and see.

I just hope some of these titles really catch me. I haven't played Mario Kart 8 as much as I thought I would. I can't get into Super Smash Bros. And Mario 3D World does little for me; I'm not that far but it's hard to keep going, rather than joyful.

Thankfully I still have Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 1+2, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate to play, and I haven't played Donkey Kong and NSMB that much either. But New Super Mario Bros. is annoying me with its floating jumps and hard difficulty in co-op.

Hopefully Splatoon will do it for me.

Seriously? The first circuits and the first few levels are always the most basic. The more fun ones always come slightly later on.

You were there when Miyamoto ensured us that Star Fox would come even before Zelda next year? You'll be playing that by October.

Very very very strange. And didn't even open Smash or DKC! I can't even...

In fact if he didn't actually post his stuff in the gaf buy/sell/trade topic, I'd be almost convinced he never actually owned any of it, and is just trolling (though that's something I'd expect more on gamefaqs than here).

Well, to each their own...

Lineup for 2015 is insane.

Playing Galaxy 2 and Prime 2 again on the Wii does make me yearn for an HD re-release ala Wind Waker, but they still hold up fine in SD. Still, you think it would be fairly easy to churn out a few of them, though there lineup doesn't need that much padding this year. Interested to see how Star Fox turns out given we haven't seen much at all on it.

they should do a mario sport with many sports. didnt they do something similar on wii? give it to next level! with amiibos too!

I think, perhaps, we should include a small indie preview with this thread. (At least some of the higher-profile titles set for next year.)

Stuff like Affordable Space Adventures, Swords and Soldiers 2 and Citizens of Earth are worth a mention, I think. Especially Affordable Space Adventures--what that title is doing with the hardware puts some of Nintendo's own titles to shame.

Was developed by Square Enix!

Cpt. Smoker and I are working on that already! Just a bit more patience :)

eShop game inclusion for this thread is coming soon ;)

Not for me. The only 3D platformers I have liked have been the Mario games. 3D has potential but it makes everything a little more boring and tedious because of the increase of space. Conker's Bad Fur Day was great too but that game was awesome for other reasons.

But Mario isn't even the best 3d platforming series. Banjo Kazooie is number 1 and ratchet and clank is 2.

We need F-Zero, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario (RPG!) and 3D Mario (third person perspective) to have greatest library of Nintendo IP's. And maybe something that would be suprising, like remake of NES game which never got a sequel (like Kid Icarus, which turned out amazingly). And yeah, that's just dreams, but hey, they can still come in 2016, right? Wii U successor will be out early 2017 most probably.

This is like coming into a wild west saloon in a strange town and spitting on the floor.

3D Mario (third person perspective)

Has there been a first person Mario game or why do you state the obvious? All 3D Marios are third person games. Even 2D Marios are :D

Star Fox, Mario Maker, Kirby, Yoshi, Zelda and Mario Party are mine for sure.

Splatoon if it turns out well, and I still need to play Xeno Chronicles, but Xenoblade still looks like ass to me.

Such a nice year, 2015 indeed. And I'm sure Iwata will give us some surprises at E3 or via Nintendo Direct.

I'll be "day one" (or day zero) for

-Mario Maker
-Xenoblade X
-StarFox
-Legend of Zelda
-SMT x Fire Emblem
-Fatal Frame 5 (if they dare to publish it here... ¬¬)

And "maybe":

-Captain Toad (if I'm too bored waiting for some of the games I want)
-Yoshi's Woolly World (only if the music is bearable this time, sorry Tezuka-san)
-Splatoon (I hope they give us a playable demo @ eShop so I can decide. Looks good)
-Devil's Third (same as above)
-Project CARS (if they don't watch_dogs'd it, I don't want a cheap port or I'll go PC)

Anyway, my wallet will cry next year...

Let me get this straight. You bought ALL that stuff.. Didn't even open half of it.. played two of the games for an hour total... and have decided to get rid of all of it, just like that? What in the world?? Never seen it.

...
