An inflatable plastic doll which comes as a complimentary (but reusable) accessory in nintendo's love hotels, kind of like headphones on long-distance flights.

Ellipsoids.

This thing better have some multimedia features. I want to track my fantasy football on the tablet while watching the Packers. I want to be able to receive video chat requests while playing Pikmin, which will suspend the software until I'm done talking, and then let me pick up where I was.

The streaming content to the tablet is a big thing for me. I suspect it will significantly cut into my handheld time.

"Gamers: Fuck games"

We take Nintendo games for granted, so we want them to do more than games, even if it's not something they want to do.

would have been pretty ridiculous if it had been otherwise
I know I shouldn't underestimate Nintendo, but they're the hardest of the three to predict.

It would not have surprised me if they filled it to the brim with superfast RAM and they kept it at about the same level as the 360 in raw MB. It'd blow both current gen consoles out of the water, but the ignorant folks would eat that shit up lol.

More than half a gig of RAM from Nintendo who historically likes their exotic and fast RAM can only mean good things for us though. :)

You bet, lets not forget these guys had this whole generation to design their first HD machine.
They witnessed the limitations of the 360 and PS3. They know what they need to bring out in the visual department to separate their console from the HD twins. Yet the also know, that there isn't much the HD twins can come out with, thats affordable, with their next gen consoles that will look significantly better than what the WiiU will be able to produce.

Nah, the extra ram will take care of that pop-in.

Man, am I the only crazy person who hopes Zelda remains...a polygonal game? What I mean is, Twilight Princess has some of the best modeling I've ever seen, but clearly everything is still angular, but beautifully so. Kinda like World of Warcrafts especially with the refinements made over the years. Sure, I want much better lighting and effects...but I still love the polygonal look done right. This is why I like the Zelda demo they showed off so much, still had that art design.

Can you post pics comparing this?

That´s like saying a PC game on HIGH is not significantly better than on LOW. And this is the best Wii U scenario :D

When you see Epic talking about UE4 they for sure are not talking about Nintendo

*But this Zelda HD game is not in production and just a tech demo and none of these games are confirmed to be in development or anything at all really this is just some stuff nothing more, we will show real games later so here's a controller(?!) and a box or something but that's finished and does 'games', which games? well... oh look it's a new Mario Party for Wii, haha wahooO!!

I'd say the most likely scenario is a Medium to High settings difference between the consoles. The Witcher 2 on 360 looks pretty to close to it set on Medium on a PC.

Given the huge gulf in power between a new gaming PC and a 360. I can't see Nintendo hurting.

Oh I just meant that it is clear that Twilight Princess uses polygons and the modeling is beautiful. Sure, that means its slightly "Blocky" but not in a bad way. Modern games, fuck man you can tell me its using nurbs and I couldn't tell you the difference at a glance. I mean I know they are made of polygons, but the meshes are so incredibly complex its a means to and end, which is greater and greater realism.

I could have sworn that I added you to my my ignore list. Only one way to fix this problem!

Yes it´s only running over 2x the resolution and framerate with higher settings. On top of lousy Windows APis.

I'm just really worried that if Nintendo doesn't use max graphics that I won't get to play CoD on my gaming machine. It would be a shame because killing virtual humans is only fun when I can see it in real Max HD graphics and I know the PS4 and the Xbox460 will do that so Nintendo will be left behind because it's going to be two Wiis duct-taped together. lol.

You were just itching to get back in this thread and say some asinine stuff weren't you?

On hardware more than a generation removed.

My point was these engines are running on really weak hardware like a 360, and very powerful like whatever ballbusting GPU was released this year. Differences, yes. But so huge as to think they won't run on a piece of hardware?

Nope. Because we haven't actually seen a paradigm shift in the hardware. Just iteration after iteration based on the same core. If the Wii U can tessellate on an equal footing, and sells well enough to make the investment worthwhile, the games will be brought to the hardware.

I got that tag because I told some one to stop using the term because it was annoying. Some mod/admin thought it would be hilarious to give me that as a tag. More things you don't know what you're talking about!

Man I'm so excited about the controller. I just hope if I'm stuck in a game I can log onto the internet in the background and look up a guide from the controller...that would be awesome.

You can on the 3DS. No reason for them to not put that functionality in the Wii U.

Oh shits I did not know this.
This is where I go "facepalm". But no, I'm better than that.

Any developments as to WiiU memory and the nanometer processes from the previous "leak"? So for now we can only guess it's RAM only because of Nintendo intel blackout.

I don't own a 3DS :(

They I guess you aren't aware of the pretty nifty ninty features it has packing.

Slidepad Expansion makes me think they want you to use 3DS as a main controller of sorts with Wii U, seeing as how it has similar SD widescreen resolutions (abeit 3DS one is actually semi-16:9 in 2D but can theoretically be 16:9 when 3D).

But the whole fact they didn't show any actual in-game footage at E3, and the tightlippedness... That's more intruiging.

The GPU is more logical than memory because NEC was mentioned.

Is there some confirmations as how many tablet like controllers it will support?
We know of 1... then someone confirmed at least 2...then 01net said zero... then a tech sheet somewhere suggested 4...

...so we don't really know.

Soo, when are we gonna hear more information? Is Nintendo gonna have their Media Summit or whatever conference that they usually do in the fall? Or will that not be happening because they had a large presence at Tokyo Game Show? We know pretty little considering that it is supposed to come out before April 1st, 2012.

Nintendo isn't saying anything until next year.

The 3DS's screens aren't even close to SD.

You mean after.

Interesting how the Vita alone can compete (and maybe win) both 3DS and Wii U.

Wii U controller with screen is made mainly because the japanese the market, with your lack of space and different game culture. But the Vita offers the same thing, but with the advantage that you can take it when leaving home.

I think you're in the wrong thread.

We might get sidetracked, but I don't see how this has anything to do with speculative WiiU tech, or potential blowjob applications of said tech.
