The footage was all offscreen, though. There was nothing there to count. As far as I remember all Nintendo demos were 720 w/o AA as counted by the famous pixel counter guy.

OHHHH he knows. whatswrongwithyou.gifNot so much that he's ignorant, just that he only has limited information himself.
NCL keeps lots of stuff from Reggie and their other branches.
Here's to hoping Nintendo replaces that ridiculous "shelf" with some Dreamcast-like grips.

Well, the thing is that he used the stage demos rather than the floor demos.

Yeah, that much was noticeable even on offscreen footage. Those demos were running on incredibly early devkits, though, as stressed by basically everybody.I was on the E3 floor.
...playing. Definitely no AA. The jaggies were big enough.

Well, I´m excited again for the bird demo, it had really nice graphiic effects, the animation was so fluid, and everything was real time, also, it does feature AA in the first part (bird zooming) while running at stable framerate. Can someone confirm the fps?
Speaking of optimism.
I found this:![]()
We can't use tinypic anymore?Amazing discovery.
We can't use tinypic anymore?
What can we use?

Stop looking at me like that.
I'll cut you with my favorite spoon!
I've gotten good at spoon lacerations.
@bgassassin: With the rumors of two completely different Xboxes next gen, one of which might use an ARM chip, you think we can safely toss out the idea of any quad-core Marvell chip in Wii U? Makes sense. There will probably still be an ARM chip in the Wii U, but I'm thinking single core Cortex A8 perhaps.
^^^Ah, ok. I'm thinking it's more likely that Nintendo just licenses the tech directly from ARM ,as they have in the past.
The ARMADA XP (Extreme Performance) series of multicore processors is the industrys first quad-core ARM processor designed for enterprise-class cloud computing applications. The ARMADA XP series integrates four Marvell designed ARM compliant 1.6GHz CPU cores along with a host of I/O peripherals to offer one of the highest levels of integration in the industry. By employing advanced design methodology and process technology, the ARMADA XP delivers the best performance per watt to empower emerging cloud computing applications ranging from high performance networking and web servers to high volume home server products like Network Attached Storage (NAS) and media servers.
They should put the dock on the console itself.
I mean, it already has to be positioned horizontal as it is. So why not?
Well, you'd use a USB cable for others, obviously. But I mean, just laying the controller on the system to charge it seems convenient.
Any chance at all we get some news before the end of the year? There is the VGA's but Nintendo generally avoids it. It could be different though, seeing as Skyward Sword is one of the goty nominees.
Does anyone else want to see them do more with the sensor bar, instead of its current form of just 2 LEDs on a stick? The console obviously still needs it, so it has to exist in some form. I know the singular Wii U tablet has a camera and mic, but supposedly not everybody will be using one. I'd like it if they put maybe a higher quality camera (than on the tablet), and a Wii Speak-style mic into the sensor bar, just build it into an all-in-one chat solution for the console.

Ah, you mean an inductive charging system built into the top of the console itself. That would be interesting, but it would increase heat and the size of the box itself (a quick Google says maybe 8mm max).
Would that work through plastic, or does it require a special surface? Seems like it'd require a special surface..
Plastics work fine. All an inductive charger does is create a fluctuating magnetic field (which works a small generator embedded in the the device being charged). As such plastics are perfect as they don't interfere with the magnetic forces.
The real issue is the power source. In order to creat a fluctuating magnetic field you need a fluctuating current (aka AC). Videogame consoles on the other hand run of DC power, therefore you can't just stick an inductive charger in like it's nothing.
