Wii U Speculation Thread of Brains Beware: Wii U Re-Unveiling At E3 2012

You guys are all kidding yourselves if you think the Wii-U is gonna be anything like they've revealed or what has been rumoured. The Re-reveal will be to show off a new design, the Dolphin HD.

I hope we get something in January. Nintendo is focusing on the 3DS right now, but after Christmas, the Wii U will get the deserved attention.

With Mario Party 9 and some other games (Rhtyhm whatever) still to go Nintendo is going to stall this all the way till E3. Otherwise they might announce something Wii U related before the year is out, like a Nintendo World 2012. But with Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion 2 and a bunch of other 3DS games to focus on as well... they might be able to keep Wii U under wraps for just a little longer unless the European retailers are right and it is indeed launching May/July instead of the expected fall 2012. Microsoft doing big things at CES might also change Nintendo's mind but that remains to be seen.

I have info. I'll sell it for $1,000.

Fucking sold. PM me.

Also, we'll definitely hear something before E3. January/February, I guarantee.

Guarantee not given, all rights reserved, Ubermatik LLC.

And the new design will be quite a bit different. Mark my words, the system itself will have changed a lot.

Even though everybody should know that since E3.. This trainwreck thread just keeps chugging along with lolworthy expectations.

I used to think you were just trolling till I saw other people trashing things you said about the other consoles that weren't negative. That was all I needed to see to make your postings more lolworthy.

Pretty funny you take stuff from a guy posting on a forum and ignore everything he is saying that you don't like.

I took the stuff that agreed with the other things. Saying I didn't like it is just a lame assumption on your part. Couldn't care less either way now that I have an idea what the console looks like for myself. If a dev says it's way more powerful than PS360 then that's a subjective opinion. If they say it's on par with PS360 it's a subjective opinion. I believe we know enough to form our own view of what it can do... but then again you prefer to go against what we know and hold some view that doesn't line up with anything we've heard, yet call others expectations that are in line with what we know "lolworthy". But hey keep entertaining (or annoying) people with your posts if they already haven't put you on ignore. I look forward to seeing the next thing you say about Xbox or PS that you get trashed or ignored on.

Considering what the WiiU can mean for some sports games like Football (PES) and American Football (Madden), it might just become the de facto dudebro console.
Finally people can't watch the other guy pick his play! There's always been a way around that, but it will be fun picking plays on screen. It will also be cool to see what PC modders do with this controller.

Will there be a need for a pc modder to mod this tablet for use, would an app on an ipad or android device to emulate what it can do not be better ten fold?

I doubt Nintendo will create an app or anything like that, but I have no doubt this this will be hacked to pieces by the PC people. At the very least in can be used to monitor temps and fps, but I'm sure they will come up with much more cool and creative stuff than that.

Not at the OS level. For individual games though, they seemed to have said it a few times that that's the direction.

We'll see what they do with the WiiU though.
To save my self from disappointment I always tend to think that the Wii U will combine Nintendo's and EA's worst so any news regarding the online and other Wii U specification will have a meh level to OMG level effect.

Nice article, I especially liked their idea for co-op Portal 2, being able to see what the other person is seeing on their screen on your controller. Perhaps you could tap the screen and highlight things on their TV to aid in team work for puzzle games like Portal.

I think Wii U could be the catalyst necessary for a new wave of hit franchises. Innovative uses of the controller with games built for it will have a large advantage over Call of Duty with motion controlled AC130's.

854 x 480, hmmm... means they could stream Wii games right to the controller in the original resolution. That would be nice. Judging from the E3 promo, the controller has its own "sensor bar" so you could play any Wii game on it, although it might be a little bit awkward to aim on such a small screen.
