Wii U's Nintendo TVii, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, and Netflix pushed to Dec.

Lol! For some reason the idea of porn on a Nintendo device is gross. Like when people insinuate that Peach is fucking Bowser. Just....ew.

But she totally is!!!

ALSO, this all kind of sucks, but whatever. I can watch Netflix on my computer. At least I'll be able to tell people "Argh, this level is hard!!" or whatever still in Mario!!!!

Yeah, this was never confirmed for day one. And the overreaction here is hilarious. Europe and Japan won't even get this in december maybe never.

I don't see much overreaction. Just the expected "Nintendo being Nintendo" comments. I also see the usual "Leave Nintendo alone!" responses. In other words, a Nintendo thread.

The 360 probably had the most complete launch by modern standards - it had some significant annoyances in that it didn't launch with background downloading, and people were waiting for months on its Xbox BC compatibility list to be slowly and haltingly updated.

If by complete, you mean worst, then yes. The fact you go out and buy a system that eventually would self destruct automatically makes it completely horrible.

I've noticed that Kaijima is consistently one of the most level headed posters in Nintendo threads. Always looks at both sides. Also...

Such an angry poster. Going through his post history is a hoot, I think stuff like the COD: Declassified thread was getting to him.

His views on Wii:

Gimmick console that was only fun playing drunk bowling.

Too many addons

His suggestion for the next Mario U game's title:

I U-sed to be fun 10 years ago

I personally think he'll be missed. :salute:

Rushed launch, and Nintendo wanted to launch Wii U earlier this year?
It was expected but still.
Oh and I don't care about TVii (for now) because I live in EU.

How do they keep consistently screwing up this one thing this badly? You have to have features availible at launch to maximize the number of casual users who will discover them.

I agree with you in principle, but honestly, I doubt many casual users will be getting their hands on the system before December anyway.

RRoD was a hardware issue, not a software issue. RRoD has nothing to do with comparing launch features of a console. Just saying you're getting kind of off topic.

Not really, my point here is it's a company quality control issue, not a bells and whistles issues. Remember: these companies are the ones asking you to pay $350-$500 hauls, day one for the system and game(s). Not the other way around.

If that's the case EVERY damn thing in the system, day one, should have been prepared for. Hell, not only prepared for, but double and triple prepared for. Not "oh shit we're not ready, we'll patch it up later on." That's not even counting the rush jobs because of the development kits that it looks like some of the ports have.

Lost in all of this is the people that aren't going to have the means to get the update, period. Lets not forget, Wii wasn't exactly an online friendly system, and many played it offline. I imagine a lot of kids will be getting this for Christmas, and things that have to be patched in through an online update like the TV and Wii BC things, some people just won't get them because they don't have a WiFi modem or maybe even the internet. That's a pretty shitty way to handle those types of consumers.

And we haven't even gotten to the launch to see if there are widespread issues, like the 3DS having scratch problems that still doesn't sell from Amazon by last check because of it.

Bottom line is, companies need to stop getting a free pass on shitty launches. Everything better be available day one that they've pushed for a year now as a feature. And things like the system actually being reliable and working DAMN sure better be there. They're the ones asking for money, not the other way around, and the games aren't going anywhere if you don't play them day one they're available. They'll be there a month, a year, 5 years from now on the shelf. Being new, shiny, and marketed out the ass isn't a replacement for delivering on promises, value, and making sure everything works. They shouldn't be rewarded day one if that's the case.

ITT: People who hate Nintendo hate Nintendo. People who like Nintendo like Nintendo.

Building on that, there are four types of posters apparently in Nintendo topics (possibly even more!):

1. Nintendo haters
2. Nintendo defenders
3. People who point out that it's just Nintendo haters and Nintendo defenders in said topic
4. People who point out that there are people who point out it's just Nintendo haters and Nintendo defenders in said topic

Was it ever announced as a launch feature? I was under the impression they would "roll out" these features.

Edit: which one am I?

I imagine it's a bit disappointing for the Americans, yet again, december is behind the corner

I bet you ten it's going to be 30th lol

Hopefully Australia gets some of the TVii features. I also really want to play networked media either natively or through plex.

Those are all give or take features for me. They don't matter at all in my decision to purchase a gaming device, and they'll get here when they come.

Don't really care about TVii, but was really interested in seeing how Netflix and Amazon run. Also HBO GO if the rumors are true.

Oh well, couple weeks won't be a disaster.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I could have sworn this was announced as day one a long time ago. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe that's the cause for the delay? Anyway, I missed that rumor do you happen to have a link?

It was, numerous times. Basically every single nintendo-rep-run hands-on of it during E3 and comicon ended with "yes this launches with the console."

Thanks, that's what I thought. I posted above that it's ironic that one piece of info that Nintendo confirmed a long time ago turns out to be false. They have been so slow revealing information that I would have thought the info they released early would be a guarantee...guess not :)

How do you arrive at Nov 30 specifically?

I thought he was referring to Dec. 30th. Which would make sense with Nintendo, as they tend to delay their updates and shit until the last possible second. Although it'd probs be Dec. 28th for real because of their standard Thursday update thing.
