Wii3: Apocalypse Redux

Q: What's the cost of accessing the Internet?

A: No cost through our system. You need an Internet connection at your home. Wii is Wi-Fi enabled.

Question and Answer Session Begins

Q: How much are the remotes?

A: Wii remote is $39.99 and the nunchuck attachment is $19.99.

You have to buy them both separately? Honestly, that's retarded. Worst news yet.

Definitely doesn't make things up as he goes along.
Its over?

Ton of info - mostly all good.

However... no NA launch games video?
That's a bit dissapointing. It's launching with different games than Japan.
Has anyone checked the website to see if their is a separate NA games launch video?

Q: First-party games will be $49.99. Will third parties price at $59.99?

A: We encourage third parties to price appropriately.

I bet when Wii.com updates with NA stuff, there will be some.

Will the system have its own internal memory for photos and such? Kaplan says it will have some capacity for internal memory, but "most" of the storage will indeed be through SD card.

Of the 30 games promised by year's end, Kaplan says about half of those will be available at launch. Sounds like Zelda, Excite Truck, and Wii Sports are the only first-party ones, though.

Why don't the journalists ask some good questions like...

Q: We know Wii Aerobics exists, where is it?

Q. When does Metroid Prime 3 come out?

Q. When does Smash Bros come out?

Q. What are the online gaming plans?

Q. What is Forever Blue all about?

Q. DVD playback?

Q. Plug a USB hardrive in?

Q. Media Player?

Why? For some games you just need the wiimote, not the nunchuck, so you only have to buy an extra wiimote to play multiplayer. And it's also possible only 1 of your 2 controller parts breaks, and by selling them seperately you don't have to buy too much.

Nintendo can't ever do something without screwing it up somehow.

Add 1 controller + 1 nunchuck
Pack in Opera (what a privilege to surf the internet with a remote!)
Give us black

Q: Talk about integration between DS and Wii.

A: In the future we'll talk about that.

Q: Metroid Prime 3?

A: 2007 game.

and controllers = expensive

So:

Wii system + 4000 points+ extra controller + Zelda = $400

LOLZ

360 core + extra controller +game + mem card = $450

ruh roh

oh you snuck in that 4000 points on me. 4000 points could be between 4 or 10 more games though

Q: How many games will support Widescreen aspect ratio and how would you compare the visuals to other next-gen systems?
A: Most titles will support widescreen. Nintendo has a different paradigm for what turns on the consumer. "If you want power, you're going to go somewhere else."
Eh, who cares, but I wish 480p widescreen was standard.

Iwata's off to Europe. i'm sure he'd only bother going if he had more to say.
Is it confirmed he'll actually come to Europe? If so, we'll definately get something new.

All first-party games and most (if not all) other Wii content will be capable of the 16:9 aspect ratio used by HDTVs, but will not be in high definition.

Overall cost still less that what you would pay for similar 360/PS3 setup.

Which is the point.

I don't care how much is the PS3/360 but this ****ING EXPENSIVE for an old technology
