I'm not buying French Persona but I didn't want to pass on the occasion to say something from Todd Howard ain't shit.
Oblivion is a lot of people's favorite game and this remake was a dream for them. So I can understand that. All I see here is Exp 33 may not be compelling enough if a remake like this can get people to not buy it, clearly it wasn't doing anything that interesting...
I don't think it will be anywhere close. But I don't think Exp33 could have got close to the numbers Oblivion is doing even if Oblivion hadn't come along.I'm curious to see the Steam players counter this evening but I'm quite sure that Expedition 33 numbers will be lower than Oblivion's
Theyre trying to juice the numbers as much as possible for the next quarter.Even from a PS5 perspective, MS has gone a bit crazy with their releases being so close together. Indy, FH5 and Oblivion all within the space of a few weeks?
That in mind, Expedition 33 has a mountain to climb.
Can't imagine Sandfall is happy about this. They got a GOTY candidate it would seem and their launch week looked relatively empty until Oblivion was shadow dropped.
I bought both and am playing both, but a lot of people are going to have to decide on one or the other.
With gamepass you can play both.
I bought red dead and Alan Wake the same day.
Not everyone wants to rent games. I don't default to game pass every time even if available.
Thats fair, but plenty of people rent films and games. I see it as a positive that you can subscribe to a service and have access to both of these games the same week.
You drunk? If the game gets overshadowed by the Oblivion Remake, it didn't have much staying power and maybe wasn't doing enough to really capture those sales.
Sure Jan, MS decides to shadowdrop the remake of the Skyrim 'prequel' the same day of the release of very likely the best 3rd party game they are releasing in GP this year destroying their sales, visibility and probably the relationship with this new promising team that isn't any threat to them because of a random coincidence, or because of potatoes wanted to destroy that team. The delusions are getting stronger, I see.
Yeah. It was just a coincidence, wink-winkSure Jan, MS decides to shadowdrop the remake of the Skyrim 'prequel' the same day of the release of very likely the best 3rd party game they are releasing in GP this year destroying their sales, visibility and probably the relationship with this new promising team that isn't any threat to them because of a random coincidence, or because of potatoes wanted to destroy that team.
Sure, had nothing to do with their direct competitor having multiple releases and announcements that same week, including the first public release of the (formerly the most important MS studio) Bungie as Sony subsidiary. Sure xDD
It's not going to get to 1/3 of Oblivion. And that's unfortunate. There's a lot more old games fans in the world than people wanting to support new IPs
Both games are in Gamepass and Steam. I'm curious to see the Steam players counter this evening but I'm quite sure that Expedition 33 numbers will be lower than Oblivion's
Don't complain if there's no new IPs if you don't support them
And by the way, downloading Expedition 33 now
High review scores do get people to play games.
1 million I have in mind as well.I think that 50k concurrent players on Steam is a solid number. Usually CCU means 10% of all sales on Steam. Gamepass money are secured, and my rise depending on how many users download the game. It will probably do okay on PS as well. My completely baseless assumption is that the game will sell over 1 million copies. The only question is what the studio expects in terms of sales.
