Windows Central: Forza Horizon 6 to be announced at TGS this year

I Hope Please GIF

the reveal trailer hopefully starts with a Toyota Sprinter drifting down the Old Tokaido 732,
anything else would be a wasted opportunity

I'm sure it's true, but I'll wait for an actual source to corroborate.

Also, PG is kinda in dev hell with Fable already, so it will be interesting to see how it will impact FH in general and FH6 specifically.

they need to fix the progression structure of these games. FH5 is a mess.

yup. they need to stop using that "do whatever the fuck you want, here are 2000 random races with no real rules" nonsense structure.

a proper campaign should be the priority for this one. I don't think another Forza Horizon that bombards you with cars and events should be what they should go for

yea but something tells me that it will be just like that. I am sure their data says that is what zoomshits want to play.

That's exactly it, zoomers would get bored driving around in slower starter cars in games like Forza Horizon 1 etc. the low attention span retards ruin it for the rest of us

I loved the way they did progression in Forza Horizon 2, where you have a single hub and everything branches out from there. It one of the main reason that I still use my Series X so much. Having all of the Horizon games on there, plus the Fast and Furious demo, is awesome!

That's .. interesting.

I'd thought they would hold back on any Forza stuff until shipping Fable.

Not that I don't like this. Love the Horizon games.

Japan sounds like a better setting than Mexico IMO. While areas of the map have different types of environments it started to feel kinda samey.
I've only played FH5 so I really don't have anything to compare with.

Is the common sentiment among long time fans similar to mine or am I totally out of line here?

They need to up their game. FH5 was considerably worse than all the others. Maybe I had just tired of the formula, but it got 1/2 the playtime before I uninstalled.

I gave up on Forza Horizon since 4.
The progression is so weird now... They want so much for no one to ever get frustrated, that you don't even have to win anything.
I remember "failing" a race because I went offroad and arrived among the last ones, I wanted to try the race again to do it again properly and arrive first, and I couldn't find which race it was on the map, I didn't see anything with no medal / bronze medal or anything, nope, you get a gold medal, even if you arrive last :messenger_downcast_sweat: What's even the point?

I don't know, there's no real incentive, no real progression anymore, no challenge, it's very strange.
It's just cool to drive around for a bit and see nice landscapes, but it doesn't feel like a proper game anymore.

Excellent. Knock off the excessive tour guide yapping in your ear, get a killer soundtrack in there and we have a racing game ladies and gentlemen.

I don't like what I hear about this series' progression system, but Japan is interesting. Much better than Mexico, for sure.
Will probably get it at some point.

Please lose the dialogue. It's cringe as fuck and spoils an otherwise great game.

I can only imagine the horror that would be cringe Japanese dialogue.

I hope this is also a soft reboot considering they've been making the exact same game on different maps for 3 entries now. The base concept continues to be great, but it could do with a little more direction in its structure and trimming the cringe. The map also needs to be larger, it's no fun driving the same streches of road over and over for 100+ hours as well as having a sea of icons overlapping with each other as there just isn't enough map real estate to accommodate them all properly.

I hope they use the physics from Forza Motorsport in it. 60hz is already dated.
Interestingly Forza Horizon already uses the same physics engine as Forza Motorsport. Obviously, it's specifically tuned to be more forgiving and suited for the open-world tracks and terrain. To your point; It would of course be near impossible to use the same simulator configuration as FM in the open world terrain, but it would be nice if we could "optionally" turn on the FM physics for tarmac racing.
