In the phone app.. go to call settings (use the ...) at the very top, it should say what number you're using.

Really? I only see my voicemail number, not my phone number there :/

Maybe it's a mango feature.. I've been running it for so long, I've forgotten what NoDo is like..

I'd be surprised if there isn't a way to find out, though.

In my case, my voicemail number is the same as my phone number, but it is also listed separately as my phone number.

Fun fact: 5% volume on my Omnia 7 is equal to 50% volume on my iPhone 3GS. It sucks - the loudspeaker is too loud but the headphone and call volume is too soft. I can't use the speaker at night and listen to music using headphones is useless on public transport. When coupled with the ridiculous 'low' brightness it speaks of shitty QA and makes me feel like I never want to buy another Samsung phone, amazing screen or otherwise.

@Sennorin, Blaburn:

Rumors of a Mango release next week from the WindowsPhoneDev podcast:
We have heard on a number of occasions that the Windows Phone 7 Mango update will be pushed out in September, but it is widely expected to be towards the end of the month.

Now, on the WindowsPhoneDev Podcast the Lowermilk brothers claimed it may be even sooner than expected, saying:

Next week is going to be a big week for Windows Phone. We have been told by various sources that Mango will be dropping and the final tools will be dropping for developers, so that would be interesting and something to look forward to.
The team have a pretty good track record, predicting correctly the developer beta of Windows Phone 7 Mango and also releasing the first screen shots of the new OS, so there is a good chance they are on to some thing.

I find that sometimes call volume is a tiny bit too quiet for my liking but nothing that actually affects my ability to hear the other side of the call. As for headphones volume I find that it can go up to a ridiculous level to the point I'm sure that everyone around me can hear it clearly.

Also, low brightness? I cannot comprehend this.

The biggest issue, for me at least, is the loudspeaker. I can't sit in bed at night and play a game when others are around because it's just far too loud. I could honestly just use headphones, but I'm not a huge fan of them. It's also the same with the brightness - I can't use the phone in the dark because the lowest setting is too bright.

Rumored to be hitting this week, this month, next month, this year. If we learned something last update, DON'T pin your hopes on a specific day and time. If it doesn't come by Dec 31st, get ticked off, but not until then.

I was bitching about this for weeks if you look back at the thread. There is no solution. When I get a call outside, I can't hear anything to the point I no longer pick up calls unless I'm in a room or indoors

My experience with my Omnia 7 is that my call volume is just moderate, sometimes you want to make it louder but you can't. The speaker is kinda too soft if you want to use it in a car, but the headphone volume is fine. Headphone volume depends on what headphones you're using too.

Same here, all these things annoyed me. I thought that with MS tightly locking down WP7 we wouldn't have these problems. I won't be going with Sammy next time round. Titan or whatever high end Nokia device gets released. The 703 specs so far don't really do it for me, hopefully the 800 series is more impressive.

Time to stop bidding on Omnia 7s on eBay then :\ So a no to them and the HD7 which I already owned.

I don't know if anyone posted this but Dropbox recently updated their mobile site

https://www.dropbox.com/m

http://blog.dropbox.com/?p=900

It’s been a while (3 years, in fact!) since we last took a look at our mobile web interface — but better late than never! Today, we’re upgrading the mobile website experience for a bunch of devices, including iPhone, Android (2.1+), and Windows Phone 7 , so you can always have your Dropbox on the go.

I was looking for a Dropbox app today and found this instead. Works great.

My wife's Samsung Captivate is on her last legs and we needed a cheap replacement phone so I picked up an LG Quantum on Ebay. Two Windows Phone household now. :)

I see Focuses go for $150ish now on craigslist. That's how much a used iPhone 3G costs. Crazy how good of a value these phones are.

I actually wanted an HD7S for her, but those phones are still relatively expensive since they're newer. She has an upgrade next year, so the Quantum will do for now.

I don't know if my wife will like HD7s, that screen is gigantic. Her feature phone is dying (have to be constantly reboot to get signal) so I am looking into a new phone for her also. I think that new HTC radar would be perfect, though she hate software keyboard so the choice is quite limited. I am thinking also getting the LG Quantum because they will be super-cheap when new devices come out.

Speaking of LG, do they have any phones plan for Windows Phone 7? Also what with the rumor about Samsung exiting Windows Phone market?

There have been some leaks about the Jil Sander branded phone, but not much else. Nokia can't come soon enough, lol

I'm hoping Samsung will release an update for it when Mango drops, like they said they would. Somehow I doubt it, though. I mean, it's not a huge issue, but for me at least it's more important than something like the choice between AMOLED or S-LCD. It's just a basic usability issue that shouldn't exist in the first place.

Speaking of Mango, is the Messenger integration still dodgy in the RTM? In Beta 2, if someone adds me to their friends, I have to go to live.com, confirm their friend request, synchronize my contacts, and then go to the People hub and link the real contact with the newly created 'friend' contact.

Samsung Focus S looks like a Windows Phone version of the SGSII with LTE support :) Very nice.

Don't forget that this is AT&T so 4G could also mean HSDPA+, which is more likely IMO.

Hmm, Samsung Focus Flash doesn't have Super AMOLED+ it seems like, must be the Omnia 7 clone?
3.7 inch screen, so a smaller version of the Omnia, maybe. Could be a new device altogether, though.

should be a fun week. ms a the build conference should announce the release of the mango update and show off all the new mango phones.

any HTC owners gone for these leaked firmwares? i know it'll wipe my trophy to go onto this, but is there any other reason not to?

i'm on Mango already, but i'm slightly confused as to what happens when new updates come out in the future. will i be able to update via the Zune software, or what? is this Mango firmware going to make my phone something that'll just receive the official updates again?

just musing whether or not to do it.

With the announcement of the Focus S there is a ticking time clock for Nokia to announce their shit before I buy another Samsung device.

i doubt this is true

is samfirmware even credible?
