Ah, yeah, it's true. Wouldn't kill them to speed it up a little bit.

I believe the creator is an ass when it comes to hiring more help and choosing how to time his projects.

Other than the final volumne of hellsing he has this OVA and that prequel Hellsing manga he's working on.

Since i started the request i guess i should make a list aswell:

Chronological order:

TV
Banner of the Stars 2 (The other 2 are pre 2000)
Twelve Kingdoms
Ghost in the Shell: SAC (this includes 2nd gig, ind eleven, etc. Putting all of them on there would just be unfair. Everyone talks about Cowboy Bebop being the pinnacle of anime but SAC to me is the Planescape torment or the band of brothers of the decade.)
Kino's Journey
Planetes
Fantastic Children (sometimes i think im the only person who has seen this show)
Black Lagoon
Moribito
Baccano!
Birdy

Movies
Escaflowne: The Movie
Metropolis
Spirited Away
Ghost in the Shell 2
Steamboy
Howls
Ponyo
Sky Crawlers

Honorable Mentions in no particular order:
Ergo Proxy
Gilgamesh
Code Geass
Fruits Basket
Texhnolyze
R.O.D.
Gunslinger Girl
Koi Kaze
Elfen Lied
Genshiken
Gundam Seed
Blood+
Kurenai
Spice and Wolf
Eden of the East

What final volume of Hellsing? Isn't he done with the regular Hellsing manga? I thought there were 10 volumes and the series has "ended" until further notice.... that's why he started that prequel. I could've sworn I read the ending of Hellsing,
it ends just the way it begins with Integra giving a drop of blood to Alucard.

well he only finished it march of 2009.

We've yet to get the North American release although that is not his problem anymore now.

Knowing his slow work schedule we might be able to get a new Hellsing OVA at least every 8 months now instead of longer? :lol

Just finished Ga-Rei Zero, Awesome! ; _ ;
i didn't like it.

that and Rideback are the to most boggling ones at the moment.

how can people like those two Anime? i think i watched entirly different ones

Rideback was terrible. I thought the premise was not bad, I liked the first three episodes or so, but then it just became awful. That story was certainly not made to be reeled off in a 12 episode adaption.
GRZ is nice, though.

Also randomly, are madlax, noein, or noir worth watching?

Noein isn't bad at all, worth a watch, no idea about the other 2.

I loved both RideBack and Ga-Rei 0, for different reasons.
RideBack had a cool atmosphere, Rin was an interesting character and the political stuff, even if not fully explored, had its moments. Naturally, the manga is way better (structurally different in how things happen, when the characters show up etc), but the anime wasn't bad.
Ga-Rei 0 had an awesome way to move the show forward. The good guys getting killed left and right? The "evil" one smirking and making fun of them while killing them? Awesome.

Alright, I know it's late, but I can't believe I missed Kaiba. Initially, it was hard to settle on what expectations I should have. I stereotyped the art style and the early episodes befuddled me completely on what direction the show was going. But then, I found something very endearing about the show, and I was glued ever since. Kaiba is certainly poignant with its ideas, and I love it for that. Such a sleeper for 08. I certainly will watch it again next week.

Short version: So who else liked Kaiba and were you satisfied with the show overall?

The last episode or so I didn't like all that much. But everything else was amazing and it's one of my favorite animes ever.

I really liked Kaiba, but I'm not so sure I'm fully satisfied with the show as a whole. The individual, episodic stories worked much better than the main plot.

Watched Chu-Bra... probably because I'm a glutton for shitty anime now (and the lack of any of the usual Sunday shows airing). It's... not as bad as the description made it out to be.

Maybe it's another one of those cultural things I just don't get, but it looks like it's just a show about women's underwear. There are the generic fanservice shots, but put into the context of a clinical discussion of underwear, you'd have to have very particular fetishes (beyond lolis) to be even turned on by it. I imagine it'd be like being turned on by women talking about going to the OBGYN. :lol

But if it's not meant to titillate, I really have no idea what it's supposed to be about. Maybe it's just another Hyakko/Hidimari Sketch/etc, but with a focus on the technology of underwear or something. :p

God, at least good shows are coming back soon.

What?

Also, what was Hyakko's focus? I'll grant you the Hidamari Sketch but I don't see how Hyakko's like that or GA.

Hyakko defense force is assembled and ready to stop any comparisons to a show about underwear.

But seriously, the show's about underwear? Fuck, just make Spice and Wolf season 3 already, enough with the crap.

The RideBack manga also has a lot more story in it than the anime. It covers a lot of stuff more in-depth and even some events are different.

Well, in the vain of girls hanging out and having wacky adventures. Girl's High, Kanamemo... shows in that vein. Hell, I suppose I would call it K-on but with panties instead of music.

And yep. The main character is a professional underwear tester - her brother/father (can't remember) designs underwear and uses her as a guinea pig, hence her obsession with the technical aspects of female undergarments.

I mean, the teaser at the end of the episode had a dude describing bra sizes. WTF indeed.

I really am chalking this up to Japan being Japan, because I have no idea who this show is for. Maybe it is for girls in middle school going through puberty who have body issues... or maybe it's for lolicon okaku. I don't know and I don't think I want to actually research the show enough to find out.

Sora no Woto was kind of annoying.

Chu Bra was stupid, but at least kind of funny/silly too. The prostitution rumor was the really awful part of the episode.

Honestly, a new season of Ouran High School Host could redeem last year, this year, and the following. :lol

Rewatching it now, Still in love with it right when the OP started lol

Chu Bra was not as offensive as expected, surprisingly informative. (makes sense since the manga author is female) I like the crazy duck tho haha but not very funny overall.

Ladies vs Butler eh.. bad fanservice show.

Sora wo noto kind of slow but atmospheric with one lol at the end. After Nyan Koi I seem to expect Kobayashi Yu to go super high voice randomly lol.
Nagi's challenge letter

On a Shaft binge, just finished Maria+Holic next up Pani Pomi Dash! and then Hidamari Sketch.

It's funny because Sora no Woto reminded me of K-on. Blond chick = Mugi, Rio = Mio and ditzy girl = Yui. And it's about playing instruments. :lol
It also had a touch of Aria just based on the time spent on exploring Sieze.

But, it looks gorgeous and hopefully they'll dip more into the tragic some time in the future.

At least it isn't Strike Witches, which is what I thought of when I first saw that chart.

Winter Sonata is great. I cannot be the only one watching this..

I think episode 0 and knowing how the K-drama turned out kind of ruined it for me, because I was laughing at the silly episode 5 cliffhanger... and then when you actually think about what happened to the main character, it gets even more ridiculous. :lol

Not really. It seems that the anime changed the premise why Joon-sang moved to attend the school where he met Yujin, which in of itself could have made an interesting story, but instead, they rushed through it and left it ambiguous by end of episode 4 so the original plot can move forward.

Having been brought up on Asian soap, this is even more ridiculous than usual. The interaction between the two leads are completely stilted and I don't believe their attraction for each other at all. For a love drama, that's like epic fail. :lol

A very poor adaptation of the Korean series thus far.

I enjoyed Sora no Moeto, it was kinda cute, and the art is pretty well done.

Chu-Bra was originally a comic written and drawn by a woman, BTW. She usually does pretty ecchi-heavy manga. I like to think of it as "educational ecchi." :lol It's also nowhere near as bad as Ladies Vs. Butlers was.

No way; Ladies Vs. Butlers is in a "what-the-fuck-did-i-just-watch" awful, awful steaming pile of dung class all by itself.

I wish. The only thing Sora no Woto has similar to K-ON is the art style. Otherwise it is kind of boring.
The first episode wasn't really funny and the moment it tried to be a little ... deep? serious? it just felt awkward (to me at least).

So is this designed so that otaku know how to buy panties for their Love Plus girlfriends/little sisters? :lol

Haly

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Sora no Woto: Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Like K-ON without the awesomeness of Ui.

They should've went for Saikano-style DESPAIR. Also, animation looks kind of shoddy (they didn't even animate the fingers, they just had an up frame and a down frame).

I guess I shouldn't have expected KyoAni levels of quality but eh.

I liked the setting and music of Sora no Woto but they're going to have to do something other then moeblobs doing moe things to keep me interested.

Just watched episode 1 of Chu-Bra. I was hoping it would be a bit more over the top, but it wasn't. May or may not continue watching it. I did, however, enjoy the ED.

There is a special formula that makes Ga-Rei Zero pretty fun: Watch the first two episodes and the last two (or was it three? I forget) episodes and skip all the crap in-between.
