Well, if you're going to put Precure on there, Smile Precure at LEAST counts based on what we have for rules. The better choice imo.

It's like trying to be decide between different varieties of poison, but the pacing in Attack on Titan is truly turgid. I can't say that it's better than Kill la Kill, even though that show has been fairly disappointing all round.

So... if I say you I never watched a Gundam series (or OVA, movie, etc), what would you recommend me? One thing please, I'm not going now to watch all from the 70s onwards.
Think I like stuff like Evangelion or Code Geass despite being mech series, not because they are mech series.

I'm really happy to get to this case which I remember really enjoying back when I marathoned through the manga back in the day. It's classic atmospheric Conan with the characters stranded and lots of suspicion to pass around. There's a great sense of the cold built up during the climax of the episode. And of course any episode with Sonoko in a prominent role is guaranteed to have a lot of golden moments.
The opening scenes with Conan and Haibara talking were pretty hilarious, as well. It's always great whenever Haibara suddenly takes something (like Valentine's Day in this case) and goes completely dark and depressing with it.

I disagree with that appreciation, I think there are... three, maybe four too slow episodes in total, from a 25 eps. series isn't so bad. It isn't a pure action series, but it also moves over the mistery, thriller, suspense genres.
If AoT is slow, what's Serial Experiments Lain? or the old HxH? or Texnolyze? or Wolf Rain? or the first half of Steins Gate? or a hundred series or so, some of them considered as classic?

Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket is essential viewing for anyone, mecha fan or not. It's a penetrating look at the impact of war on the ordinary soldier and civilian.
There's a difference between a slow plot that's just spreading a little bit of content over a long time and a "slow" plot that's being filled with atmosphere/characterization/etc.

Best things on the franchise are 08th MS Team, 0080 War in the Pocket, Turn A Gundam, and maybe G Gundam if you like that sort of thing.
Now.
I'd also suggest you watch the 0079 movies which are 2hrs each and sumarise the original MSG.
As for your second point, I am not sure if you can be pleased. Gundam is pretty straight real mecha save for Newtype magic bollocks.
Watch the movie versions of the original series then Zeta and ZZ. These are part of the Universal Century. There are some quality OVA to watch as well like War in the Pocket and 08th MS Team.
Turn A, Wing and X are standalone series that don't necessarily tie into UC works as they are their own alternate universes.
Basically just go with release date. Only series I'd say is shit tier and to stay far from is AGE.

LTTP on this one. I never gave this a look when it came out based on the name because it sounded like some soft shit. But this is right up my alley. Kotetsu's pretty annoying but I'm sure he'll grow to like Barnaby.
I absolutely love the hero suit designs (especially the Tiger & Origami Cyclone suits) and the regular everyday designs are great too (except for Fire Emblem).
I'd love to see this on Toonami (or somewhere on TV) but I'm assuming Viz wont go for that? I think America would really go for it though.

AoT mostly consists of the latter outside a few episodes in the middle where the pacing is pretty bad. For a good chunk of the show, the pacing is fine and something big happens in each episode.
I expect I'll be alone on that.

Oh nice impressions for this one and the last paragraph seems to at least and highly suggest that its is as entertaining and enjoyable that I hoped for. And nice screens. I just hope somehow I can watch it in the english language. Was it based off some previous property?
Well my first two choices are a lock with LWA and Wolf Children but I'm having a reeeeeally hard time deciding between Garden of Words and the Blue Exorcist movie.

It's not based on any existing property but the concept for the anime has existed for about ten years now. Gainax was originally going to make it in the early 00s, but then the guy planning it (the author of Trinity Blood) suddenly died, and the project was put on hold for years.
Oh so That's what happened. It looked so good in the Newtype USA issue I got and I was bitterly disappointed when it came to naught.

Watched these over the weekend and I finally have time to write my brief impression.
One Piece Film: Z
Top 3 One Piece films without a doubt. Whether I think its better than Baron or Strong World will be saved for another time.
Straw Hat crew dynamics were great as always. Kid Nami and kid Chopper were adorable and teen Robin just contributes to showing why she's one of the best females in the series. Laughed out loud after hearing Usopp's snide comment to her.
Really liked Z's character. Dude was a boss and him managing to make Kizaru shocked during the beginning, automatically qualifies him for me liking him. Actually felt bad for him after hearing how much he went through in the past and I could see why he did all that after losing everything. His final battle with Luffy and his one last stand moment were both the best part of the film. Avril Lavigne songs at the end kind of ruined things though. Don't even mind her music, but it was just not the time nor did it feel right to end the movie with her music.
Blue Exorcist Movie
Wow, those background shots were gorgeous. Best looking film I saw last year. Think someone posted some screenshots a long time ago but I can't recall who nor which movie it was from before watching this.
Story was simplistic and very predictable. Knew that Usamaro would not last the film and that just bothered me after seeing "X character appears in the movie, X character dies/sacrifices himself for the MC" one too many times. Still I did enjoy it and I'm really thankful that its a standalone, so I wouldn't get confused.
Was only aware of a few of the characters but the major characters were the few I did know. Rin is a hot head and doesn't follow directions well, but there's something about that made me not dislike him. Yukio though, is the better brother. Bro was legit with the gun and he really had the vibe of someone in control, except when he loses his cool over Rin. Didn't recognize the friends, but I liked their interaction with Rin, especially when they were playing baseball.
Might actually give the series a shot when I have time.
