One Piece 2-25
I haven't had a chance to post my impressions, but it's been pretty slow so far. It's just basic introductions and back-story for the characters up to this point. I'm really liking the world, characters, and plot so far despite the fact it seems a bit childish. Things seem to be picking up though as of these last 2 episodes. Is there any guide to avoiding bad or pointless filler?
Oh, and Hawk-Eye Mihawk is seriously bad ass.
I see someone already linked you to a bare list of episodes, but here's a slightly more structured outline of what's worth watching and what isn't. (And I hope you enjoy the next arc, which is where things really start to get good by a lot of people's reckoning!)
The first filler content is in episodes 50-51, but I don't think it's worth trying to skip those since it's only two episodes, not bad stuff, and integrated quite tightly into the canon events.
The first actual filler arc that you might want to skip is episodes 54-61, which a lot of people dislike. Personally I don't think it's too bad, and I'm not sure if skipping it outright is a great idea, since the introductions to a few key canon concepts are included in it (I'd at least watch 54-55 at the beginning since they introduce the concept of
and 61 at the end, since it contains the important lead-in into the canon material that follows).
After that one, you're basically in the clear for a long stretch until episodes 131-143, which is a series of filler arcs that you really won't miss anything by skipping.
Then there's 196-206, which I think is generally agreed to be the best filler arc in the series, and is also integrated into the canon quite effectively and includes some key moments that you won't want to miss, so I'd recommend watching that one.
Then there's the Davy Back Fight arc (episodes 207-219), which is
canon, but includes some filler material integrated into it. It's only a few extra episodes, and it's so tightly integrated that I don't think there's any point trying to skip it, you'll just wind up confusing yourself. Episodes 220-226 immediately afterwards, on the other hand, are entirely filler and you won't miss anything by skipping them.
Then you're in the clear until 279-283, which is a series of recap episodes that aren't worth watching.
...I could go on, but that's probably more than enough for now >.>
