I think is 5 centimeter per second

Junketsu no Maria Episode 3:

Okay, this episode has convinced me to give this series a full watch, the serious side is rather excellent taking on huge theological questions that I don't see anime examining, questions of divine will against free will just to cite one example. Another would be with the new power limiter, the question of putting the greater good above personal satisfaction, although I do wonder what exactly quantifies losing the virginity? As in, are the options of non penetration still open? This series would be a hot contender for AOTS were it not for the fact that its comedy is like 99 flavors of awful, raging from the stale, to the repetitive and to the downright offensive. It more then detracts from the series it makes it downright unwatchable at points.

oh, already seen it. long time ago though which is why I didn't recognise it. any more animes in this style?

One of Shinkai's later movies, Garden of Words, is like that. It's even shorter but looks even better overall. Especially since the characters faces have much higher detail than in 5cm.

What's better, A Certain Scientific Index or Railgun? and which to watch first?

Railgun is better but Index established the characters and explained some things.

Gourmet Girl Graffiti 3 - Wow. There's food porn and there's this. Really felt like a ramp up. Still not sure I'm that keen on a rice omelet though. Well done SHAFT in any case.

Shaft has always been great at making food look ridiculously delicious. Im not surprised they finally went all out with a food porn anime.

Log Horizon any good?

Log Horizon has a really great first season. It also has some very cute moments and lots of nods to MMO culture (though I cant appreciate that part myself)

Graffiti 03

The show that's making such a splash the fact that Okada is writing it is barely being brought up!

Fafnir 03

While I'm not terribly fond of Yuu, I do like the magical girl-esque design of the weapons the girls have, though it makes a weird contrast with the militaristic atmosphere of the whole thing. Going by how the dragon talked to Yuu in that flashback, they don't seem to be wholly magical either. The dragon was speaking like a computer program. What are these things?

Maria 03

Angels can kinda be dicks. For Priapus, he's still a walking Ghostbusters quote. I do like HanaKana as Ezekiel - a nice contrast to the other two owls, effectively making a trio of comic relief characters out of Maria's familiars. The church isn't on her side any more than anyone else - and while Maria does have an Ange-like "as long as it has nothing to do with me" attitude, her dedication to ending the stupid war is admirable.

Cross Ange 16

Even when she's making friends with people, Ange just can't stop being kind of an ass. The sports games were a funny, if weird, diversion from the everything else that has been going on.

Yatterman Night 03

Superheroes, even when designed with elements unique to their culture, are also broad enough that the messages they spread are universal. If Captain America can make it big in Japan, then Yatterman can make a strong name for itself in America. Night is making me actually want to watch the original series - ideally the 2008 version, since the casting of Yoshino and Itou implies a direct connection to it - and doing a great job at making the world a harsher one while not taking away from the heart of the show, and all from the villains' perspective. The moment when the new Doronbo had their first major showing as heroic villains was a thing of beauty, in music and staging. KitaEri's evil laugh is pretty good, too.

And the usage of dice and dogs both call back to the original franchise in not entirely subtle, but still affecting, ways. The original Yatterman was a world-hopping adventure while this seems confined to one continent, but it makes for a tighter story within the time constraints of one cour. Good stuff.

Izumi is perfect in the anime. Meteor scenes with him are exactly what Ive always wanted to see animated and they were pleasing. Always love how he looks when he holds it out and the blocks are there and many more form and many more form again.

Jin's plan was amazing as always, poor Kazama.

Yoru no Yatterman Episode 3:

Okay, I may need to track down Yatterman after I am done watching some other legacy anime because I am feeling a bit lost in the legacy. On that note, I surprises me more that we have nobody in AnimeGAF who is Time Bokan scholar. Anyway, I am wondering if these people are the descendants of the Yatterman civilian identities and the main focus of this episode was showcasing why Galina and Ally will side with the Doronbow Gang. Also, Galina may want to get used to the cold shower because he love is probably going to go unrequited given how badly this show wants Leo and Ally to be a couple.

Virgin Witch 03

Ezekiel is an amusing addition to Maria's two familiars and her very serious nature will do well with those two and their amusing light-hearted ways. I was curious to also hear Ezekiel's opinion on things because is seems that she may be the type of character who can be swayed from her beliefs.
Really enjoyed Maria's conversations with Michael, Ezekiel and later Cernunnos brings up the issue of free will, what roles God plays in the conflicts between people and what may at the end of the day simply be the natural order of things and if it even makes sense to bother trying to change things. Also wasn't at all surprised that the Monk aka The Church can see her value in being on their side compared to how God and the Archangel Michael her antagonistically but still worth forgiving.

Yatterman - 03

This was pretty good. However while I feel this show has interesting characters, as soon as the 'Yatterman robots' are shown I quickly lose interest.
I'm fine with the goofy inventions and what not. I don't know if it's the design of the 'Yatterman', but something just doesn't click with me.

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
My main negative with Yatterman Nights is that Doronjo was downgraded from a 30 year old woman to a kid.

Would trade some important things just to reexperience it again. But be reminded that the first 10 episodes are build up. The payoff is something which will shock you and you will hate yourself for putting it off for so long. Have fun.

Death Parade 3

Well I guess that's one way to
have childhood friend
win. Bittersweet episode that can be summarized as kohais getting noticed by their senpais, which apparently is like the biggest problem facing Japan right now. Outside of adults not having sex or getting married apparently lol.

Next episode should be interesting for GAF.

Concerning Death Parade - 03...

Where was even the point in having these two play together and decide between hell and heaven for them when they had like almost nothing to do with each other for years. Sure they were childhood friends but neither did anything special happen between the two shortly before there death (there was no relationship, at best the guy was just trying to approach her) nor was their death the result of their doings.

The two did nothing particularly wrong up to their death (that we know of) so it feels weird that they now get judged upon their behavior during the game. Would the guy have been sent to hell if he said he's disgusted by the girl's cosmetic surgery? No matter what kind of more extreme scenario could've taken place between these two, judging like that would feel awfully arbitrary to me.

Cardfight!! Vanguard G Episode 6 (engDub)

Fun episode even if the fight was a bit lacking. Hopefully future episodes bring us back to good cardfighting goodness. Though it would have been too soon for Chrono to beat these high level characters.

World Break 03

Some Chiaki Omigawa, some crazy english, and more of Satsuki being equal parts high energy and unwilling to listen to anyone. I will give Moroha this. While he may be overpowered, even in the context of his own story, he's not an asshole, and that's a pretty big point in his favor. The glowy magic system and the extreme chuuni nature of the spells still make for something that feels both more and less serious than Absolute Duo, but I continue to look forward to future episodes, if only to see what they do.

Yatterman Night - 3
This show's not really exciting me in the same way it did in the first episode. There's a little bit of a tonal whip lash going on. It's strange how they place an emphasis on the rickety shelters and desperation of the characters and world, then Boyacky builds a giant robot in a few seconds off screen. It kind of takes the piss out of all the drama the show is shooting for. I dunno— feels like the show wants to have its cake and eat it too.

Also, having just watched a bit of Yatterman (2008), Galina and Alouette are voiced by Hiroyuki Yoshino and Shizuka Itou respectively who also voiced
Yatterman 1 & 2 in 2008.

[Tantei Kageki Milky Holmes TD] - 1

What the hell happened to Milky Holmes after season 2 anyway? Why, for example, does it look like crap? Where's the visual flair? The comedy? No thank you.

If you thought that was bad, be thankful you didn't see Futari wa. TD is a MASSIVE step up from that trash.

The show is great. Its actually a comedy though the plot progresses throughout the series. I'm still early on but the number of episodes is really daunting.

Ha ha, that gif is the perfect response. Lum's disapproving face has always been incredible. I like how that shock is so casual too.

I'm 3 episodes into Bōnen no Xamdō and I'm not finding it as interesting as I had hoped. Does it get better?

I watched all of it recently, you have seen, by far, the best episodes of the show. Jump out now, it's never getting any better.
